DVD Cover Art Up........Finally!!!!
Time
Hey all, here is a link for a photo album I have where I put cover art I have found. I have done and extensive search and found some great pieces. A Cerbero set is in there and I need to thank Cool Hand Luke too, as he sent me the "Faces" set, making another mission complete. I will add those to this album if anyone needs a look. I believe you can "right click" and "save as" in this album. You should get the original resolution. Let me know what you think of these and if you want any and can't download them(just drop me a pm). On MSN messemger just add the contact Jettrel Fo. Thanks to everyone here for being so great, it is appreciated.

The OT RULES!!!! and the S.E. isn't bad either......as for the new stuff coming, "But I'm not afraid"................."You will be....You will be" lmao

Enjoy!!!!

UPDATE: I just checked and it doesn't save at original resolution... so if anyone see's something they want or need, just pm me or catch me on MSN and I would be happy to oblige the request. I'm glad at least you can preview them. That helps others out.

Here we go.....a link to the cover art I was speaking about. These are just some from an exhaustive search I have down within the last week to find cover art for the OT and others. It became and obsession that had a fruitful ending. Feel free to download them and use them if you'd like. I just want to give something back here as I have found some great ones in the forum and finally gotten the "Faces" set that I'd been looking for (courtesy of Cool Hand Luke). Glad you found your car dude....... A set of cerbero's art ended up in their as well, thanks bunches for posting it.

Plz let me know if you can actually view and download these and your opinions of them. I totally forgot I had this yahoo pictures page that I can use to host these. The ones that are up range from TCW animated series(can I even mention that) to supplemental cover art.

Enjoy!!!!

So Did George Lucas Really Rape Our Childhood?
Time
Welcome rennervision.......

Everyone here seems to be straight shootin when it comes to posts and responses. Even Jimbo has his moments of clarity and insight. I remember seeing these movies @ the outdoor theatre and on a huge screen theatre that is no longer around as a kid. They were as awesome then as they are now.

I sincerely hope that GL gets his head out of his arse and smells reality. Those of us diehard fans want what Star Wars was and should be, original out of this world story telling at its most basic. The OT.......

I did enjoy the S.E. idea, about that I cannot lie. Seeing new images added a new suprise for me as well as the OT did. I just hope that GL doesn't take a great thing and smoke it like a cheap cigar. It just wouldn't be right.

Welcome, hope you enjoy this little haven. It is a great place to come home too.

Star Wars - The Edits and DVDr releases thread
Time
I just received my S.E. set for $35.00. Nice little bonus on ROTJ with the featurette after the trailer.......great to see this progress on such a task. I am also glad to know I got a deal on the "Faces" set. Seems I chose wisely. Are there any better quality versions of these around? I have been to Mr. Prillamans site and it seems that it can be hard to keep track of all the different layouts of these sets. I actually wanted the ones spoken about with the scene selections menu (Definitive Collection). All the great reading here leads me to believe that it all depends on who is doing the transfer. Some being simple while others having some "thought out" design. I can think of no better compliment to those like Rikter and TR47 then to have a little extra after the work to make the work better. KUDOS to you guys.

Thank you for looking TR47 and responding.....it is appreciated.

Faid -

As your post seems to imply - someone like me, not knowing much better til after I came here but your enthusiasm is appreciated. Then again, who would post such a remark for free (your opinion has been noted). Considering the films in those prints, will not be what we get in September, I made a choice. I'm sorry you don't approve but this is a board of free opinion so have at me if you'd like. Fun is fun afterall. Enjoy the ride and Welcome.

I got them on eBay recently. This is actually my first experience with "import" Star Wars Trilogy DVD's. I was around at the begining and have been a loyal fan ever since. Seeing that the new set is soon to be released I thought it wise to purchase some of these sets to preserve the OT as I remember it and the addition of the S.E.. I own the VHS Silver WS box of the S.E. and the THX Faces set as well. No laserdisc machine or discs but I am starting to reconsider that idea just in case.

Hope this helps.

Rikter,

I read your reviews and I was blown away @ all the information available in a post......Great Job!! I did want to note that the set I currently have seems like it is pieces of two sets after reading your review. The movies are just that, the movies (which I believe are the Anamorphic set) with no commentary. The just start without chapter stops to choose from and they end. I did notice a few small glitches in ESB so far. The last disc is the Supplementary stuff from the definitive collection which is great to have. Now, I'm not the technical wizard when it comes to the language but can you tell me which one I may own? It seems like the movies are from the "Faces" era of LD. Any suggestions or analysies would be greatly appreciated.

As a side note, I just rechecked the description for this set that I bought and it reads:

This is a 3 dvd set of the ORIGINAL STAR WARS trilogy (STAR WARS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RETURN OF THE JEDI), identical to the Definitive Edition laser disc releases - NOT THE 1997 SPECIAL EDITION! This 3 disc set features Widescreen (2.35:1 aspect Ratio) versions of all three films. This is a widescreen transfer from the remastered THX laserdiscs.

A 4th DVD containing ALL the special features from the Definitive Collection, including the interviews w/Muren, Lucas & Burtt, the Lucasfilm Archives, Featurettes, Picture Galleries and more!

I was still wondering though if I got something worth while. I paid only $22.99 USD, and they look really great - and for the price I can't complain. I received disc art which I didn't really want on there but no cover art for the cases.

I have watched them at least 3x already.......and I can't wait for the S.E. set I purchased to arrive.

Thanks again for any input you might have.

OT Faces DVD covers

Yeah, that's the set. Do you have the whole set? That would be helpful too. They look really great and the links in here to get them are dead, something about "used up bandwidth". Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks for answering.

Forum Newbie/Padawan Seeks Knowledge In The Ways Of The Force...
Time
Thank you for the welcome. It is appreciated. I was collecting Cover Art when I stumbled in here and got sucked in to all the discussions, opinions, and miscellaneous advise of all sorts. I recently purchased my first "import" Star Wars Trilogy DVD Set, The Definitive Edition, and I didn't recieve the cover art with them. So I went on a mission and the rest is history. I also recent ly ordered a set of the 5 Star SE set and found that I still don't care for the Cover Art for the cases so I wanted a collection of styles to select from. Now, as long as I can learn how to print these properly with the right program so they fit my empty cases, I will be as happy as a Wampa in a wide, icy cave on Hoth. hahahaha

Thanks again.
