Info: Darth Vader exclusive from CIII
Time
Cover me in Bantha Poodoo and toss me in the nearest Sarlaac pit..............I just found the original price of these figures @ the Celebration.....$15.00 + tax. Limited to coincide with the passes bought. 1 day pass equaled 1 figure while a 4 day pass got you 4 figures max....and to think I paid $35.00 a piece. I guess it's better than some of the prices on eBay.....well, now I see why I didn't get any offers for a trade just yet, sorry all for the confusion. I guess I will just put them up for sale on eBay and keep 1 for myself.....I'm such a dope.....LMAO

Peace!!!!

Four (!) ROTS Reviews at CHUD.Com (some major spoilers)
Time
I am taking my brother and nephew to the midnite showing and with all the info I have gotten ahead of time I am just gonna wipe my memory and go in blind, hoping and praying that there is some redemption for the PT in this final installment.

The OT didn't need to rely on "love story" sequneces and "screens crammed with ships" to make it's mark on a generation of people with dreams and beliefs of heroes and honour that mirrored their own existance at least in spirit, execution, and direction. Now it seems we have to contend with a divorced director and his "in a hurry lets finish this" pace of storytelling...........my hope is that the fans don't take it out on the actors.....when the man painting the picture seems to have lost his way....Peace!!!!

Which did you prefer, the SE or the 2004 DVD edition?
Time
I truly believe in the 1997 S.E.'s as the natural progression of the OT, if there was to be one. The added scenes seem more fluid aside from the fact that Lucas and company could have made them look a bit more dated to match the rest of the films better instead of trying to brighten up the rest of the films to match the scenes. The 2004 S.E.'s can smoke "cat puke" for all I care. The bonus material disc is the only piece of that box set that has a welcomed purpose.............that's my story and I am sticking to it.....lmao

Peace 2 U ALL!!!!

For Sale: TPM Pepsi posters.......
Time

Anyone interested in the Pepsi Promo set of TPM posters that K-Mart carried?? I have a good number of mint sets and would be willing to trade or take a fairly inexpensive price…not that I expect a flood of responses but there may be some interested in framing a set for that particular Star Wars den or office decor…

STAR WARS: The Torrents thread
Time
Hello all,

I realise it has been awhile but I have been busy raising my new daughter (5 months old actually) and haven't been round for a bit. It is nice to see folks still taking care of each other here and that there is still a place to come home to....LOL....As I was reading this thread to catch up a bit it really hit home on this torrent thing since I belong to at least 3 sites myself. I do know of an IRC server that might be willing to help Rikter maybe setup a room for Star Wars geeks like all of us here.......just a thought if myspleen goes the way of the dinosaur.

I look forward to chatting again with all of you soon.......

Hello,

We had some interest shown in this and then all of a sudden.....**POOF**, this thread just fell flat. I was really hoping that we could have this done but it seems that most of the interest is in other parts of the forum.......if we can resurrect this idea and make it happen I would be the first to put up the cash for my set. It is my hope that this side of the force is not dead yet.....

Hello All, I got a suprise for ya......
Time
Hey,

I have been away for a bit but with good reason......On 24 November 2004 @5:35 p.m. and a day before my birthday, I was graced with the most wonderful gift...................an 8lb. 5oz. healthy and beautiful baby girl.

We named her Anyka (pronounced Ahnika) Mae.....she is home and doing well as is her mother.........

Star Wars has got a new fan this week and she has the force with her......lmao

The other reason is purely trivial, I am learning Bit Torrent.......lol, or at least perfecting my understanding of it......I do hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it and to all those who don't, hope your days have been hopeful and well-balanced.

Talk with you all soon!!

What's better than sitting down and watching the original Star Wars on laserdisc?
Time
Hal.......

If you want something spectacular, $150.00 isn't gonna cut it unless you get a deal from an unsuspection seller who knows little of what it is they are selling. The Pioneer Elite series is probably what you are after but it is gonna cost you........

I have a Pioneer CLD-D502 and my "Faces" and "SE" sets look really nice on it. The D503 series is probably one to look for if you can find it. It seems to have a few more extras and may be more in your price range. Do a little research to see what it is you want to pay for. Go through eBay and see what is for sale and go from there. Suggestions here seem to be well worth investigating as well. In the end, it is up to you and what you want out of the player. Mine does nicely for what I need and it can be upgraded to allow AC-3 sound format. I'm not sure how much it would cost me to do it but for the $35.00 I got it for it would probably be worth the extra investment. Hope this helps as well.

Thanks go to those who have submitted ideas so far.......it is appreciated. I don't want to go to Paul until I get an actual list of people that want these..........and they have to be confirmed too. It just won't be worth the money if only a small group wants in. I was also hoping for a few more entries.........something that maybe we could do a vote on......

If there is anyone who has submissions waiting, please try and get them up so we can look and get a final tally........I really think this forum deserves a nice box to house their collector's sets of original OT sets, preserved wonderfully by one of our members.

Info Wanted: What other LDs are you all transferring?
Time
Sorry MBJ,

I'm expecting a little bundle of joy and have been feverishly trying to prepare......as if that will make it any easier....lol

I really can't wait to see what this transfer will bring. I haven't seen Farsight's so I don't have a basis of comparison...haven't even tried grabbing a set off of eBay to see that one. I believe this to be in good hands with MBJ....

Info Wanted: What other LDs are you all transferring?
Time
Hey all,

I have an LD copy of BladeRunner/Criterion Collection but no way of transferring it. If Rikter, MeBeJedi, or one of our other established 'project' people are interested in trying their hand at it I might be willing to send the LD out so it can be done. The extra's alone on the disc are worth a really great transfer since Ridley Scott won't be doing a theatrical transfer just yet.

I am truly glad to see you all haven't forgotten about this idea. I like the CBS look and Rebel's concept. I would like to get a few more ideas up so maybe we can have a vote and go from there. It should be something that stays true to the OT itself. If I knew how to start designing one and a program to do it with I would try one meself but at the moment I am utterly clueless.......lmao

Anyone have any direction they'd like to point me in??

R.I.P. Jimbo................and May The Force Be With You...............Always!!!!

It is days like this that I bow my head, light a smoke, and consider the endless ways in which humanity itself needs a good arse-kicking....so many people, not enough respect for one another. I also consider places where I have found myself feeling quite at home and this is one of them. Thanks for the memories Jimbo, I do hope that **.com doesn't eat you alive.......peace be with you.......you sarcastic, funny, smellin of poodoo, disgusted at life, sack of devil's advocate you!!!!

What's better than sitting down and watching the original Star Wars on laserdisc?
Time
I just recently bought a Pioneer CLD-D502 for $30.00USD on eBay and in a 10 LD Lot for $90.00 I got the "Faces" LD set, the Criterion Edition of Blade Runner..........I have to say that I think I did pretty well. I already own the SE LD set and the picture quality from the LD player is pretty sweet, the sound is even better plus I don't have to get up and switch sides........makes sex alot easier during the flip of the disc................ lmao

LD Players, What is the machine of choice??
Time
Eaglemaster,

Just so you know, you will be asked for a donation for the download but it is worth it. I got one for mine from there and they are really nice. I believe the amount was $3.69USD for assistance to the site and its worthy mission of saving us noobs from going on eBay and spending $9.99 or more for one.

Thanks MBJ for the word of defense.......I didn't think it was wrong for me to chose that icon but who am I but a lowly padawan....

LD Players, What is the machine of choice??
Time
Well,

I just finished watching my SE LD set on my Pioneer CLD-D502 and what a beautiful picture I got...........quite amazing these Laserdisc machines. I also bought a set of Star Trek: The Movie Voyages 25th Anniversary Edition w/ The Undiscovered Country, Generations, and First Contact thrown in for good measure ($37.00 Total for the whole set) and it is just amazing to see. The sound alone of a quality Laserdisc truly makes a difference in the viewing process. I have to say this has been one of the best purchases I have ever made on eBay. My only wish is that everyone in the forum is lucky enough to find a great deal on an LD machine and be able to enjoy some great movie history.
