Yep, that's it.  I know I have the Dr. Gonzo discs but I'll have to dig them out.

Please take a look... check if audio is 5.1, if so send me the .vob file, so I could mux my video with that audio. THANKS!

I just saw the post and checked my discs .... DD 192kbps .... and I see that Jonno got it covered, thanks man.

Sad for sure but it's still a cool trailer to watch.

@Jetrell @Rick2525:

do you refer to this one? Even if it's an unofficial THX trailer, I like it and I want to add it to the project... infact, I've done a HD restoration - you could download it here (65MB); it's not perfect, but considering the source is not that bad... I'd like to replace the 2.0 soundtrack with the 5.1 remastered, that should be available onto the .vob file (inside the Dr. Gonzo restoration project); if someone could provide that file, I'll be really grateful!

Yep, that's it.  I know I have the Dr. Gonzo discs but I'll have to dig them out.

Info: The Matrix - with original theatrical color timing?
Time

DoomBot said:

Yeah i'm pretty darn sure the hddvd and blu-ray are the exact same.

I'm dying  to hear the DTS theatrical audio for the Matrix though.

Are the files put together for the dts cinema?

The theatrical audio is not yet decoded or put together for sync.  I was hoping to see where this was going with the final choice for video to be used.  What I might do is ask someone here to work with the audio and then maybe use the HD-DVD video along with it's DD+ and add the DTS to it.  Whether it's worth it or not I don't know but being able to switch between soundtracks may be a cool thing and distract from the color timing enough for people to enjoy more .... unless someone wants to take adjusting the color timing to match it's theatrical look.

Howso?

The HD-DVD set seems to get fairly high marks for audio and video quality while some are obviously unhappy with the color timing treatment of the Bluray.  Maybe the HD-DVD set would be a better starting point at least picture wise?

It would be great to have something good to put the DTS theatrical audio to ya know, kick it up a notch.

:)

DTS audio preservation .... UPDATE 07 May 2015 ... Work In Progress
Time

For those interested, I have the 5.1 DTS audio for the Star Wars Trilogy SE trailers B, C, and D.

Trailer A was pulled after release dates when the last 2 films changed.  Finding the audio for Trailer A even with it's rare status would certainly be more likely than find the actual film that goes with it.  I believe it actually isn't any different than Trailer B, video wise, but since I've not seen it I cannot tell you with any certainty if that's the case.

As far as I know, the Trailer A is the one that says "This President's Day ...".

Help: looking for... a few LaserDisc Audio Tracks
Time

zeropc said:

what do i want to do with these tracks?

i'd like to remux these audio tracks with the blu-ray or use them on the restoring of the theatrical cuts (robin hood and amadeus)

why do you want the laserdisc audio, isn't audio on the blu-ray good enough for you?

i prefer to watch the movies in their original audio mix and many blu-rays don't have them anymore. you only get access to 5.1 upmixes. i like to preserve the original mix if possible and laserdisc is a very good source for that.

the audio itself can be captured and then send to me. you don't have to edit the side change. separate files for each side of the laserdisc are also fine. please don't process them to 48khz. i'd do that myself after all syncing is done.

if you have any of these movies and can share the pcm audio, please send me a pm. once i receive the audio, it will noted here and you'll receive full credit, unless of course you don't wish so.

thanks in advance

zero,

First off, welcome to the forum.  There is a lot of knowledge and resource here that comes from the experiences of a huge number of members, past and present.  I noticed that you were fairly direct with what you want as I read your post.  I'd highly suggest flipping through all the threads that interest you or are on par with what you're looking to do as so many feel the same about preservation of original audio and video presentation of films they love starting with the OT.

Read, learn, and have fun.  I hope you enjoy your time here.  Sharing is caring and every little bit helps.

Cheers!!!!

Star Wars 1997 DTS CD-ROMs (Released)
Time

I'm working on syncing each of the 6 Films right now using the DTS Theatrical CDs, and I just realized that the two of the three 1997 SE trailers are on the discs.  It would be really easy to get the 5.1 mixes for these trailers, which as far as I know are not available anywhere else.  They're in Dolby Digital 2.0 on the Laserdiscs and the Star Wars one is also in Dolby Digital 2.0 on the 2004 DVD Set.

Would there be any interest in this and would anyone know which other films' discs might have the first SW trailer?

Edit:  After a little searching, it looks like "Star Trek: First Contact" might be the film to look for.

I got a solid lead on the 1 trailer audio file we're missing.  Apparently there was an "A" trailer for the SE but it was well guarded by the Fox reps and returned to them when done due to a release date being changed on Jedi.  The "B" trailer audio is what I believe we are after ..... and I just may be able to get it.

Cheers

UPDATE:  I will have the missing trailer audio later today.

:)

I checked my First Contact discs and they do not contain any movie trailer audio, only different versions of the THX spots that play before a movie.  I will keep searching.  Huge thanks for what you're doing.  You have a pm ....  :)

I believe the ONLY version I have is an older LD rip that made the rounds some time back.  A cool movie in it's own right.

Here are the specs for what I have ....

Video:
MPGV  (VOB)
Resolution: 720x480
Frame rate: 29.97
Data Rate: 7260
Total bitrate: 7516

Audio:
Codec: A52
Channels: Stereo
Sample rate: 48000
Bitrate: 256 kb/s

3.40GB in size

Sounds close to mine The_Keep_1983_The Keep (1983).par2"

I'm content being able to watch what I have though it would be nice to have better pq.

I found this ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151055766008&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

Looks like it's laserdisc sourced ..... I could be wrong.

I'm very interested in getting this as well.  Cinemageddon isn't doing public sign ups at this time though. If anyone wants to trade me I can trade an invite to Xtreme Wrestling Torrents or Xtreme Classics for a Cinemageddon invite.

You are probably better off just asking outright as I'm not sure trading invites is really wise ..... just saying.

That would be cool if a lot of people are after BTTF, then perhaps they could group together and purchase a set to offset the cost? I don't know how much it is, but for example $200 divided by 20 people is only a tenner each. It might be the best way to get discs of interest unless you can find a collector out there who is interested in transferring their library.

The only problem here is who retains the physical source once the transfer is complete and who covers the cost of the media for those 20 people?

Jeez, I would imagine the 20 people could each pony up the $1 cost of a BD25 blank each.

As for the ctual laserdiscs themselves, that would be up to the group to decide up front. You could stick them straight back on ebay with a buy it now until they were sold, or donate them to the guy doing the transfer (LOL) or hang them on a Christmas tree or offer them to the highest bidder that wants to buy them within the group. I don't know really, just throwing it out there, there is nothing in it for me except unpaid work anyway :P so it was just a suggestion as to one way to make it doable if it is something people want to do.

To me, it doesn't really matter, if I was only paying 5 or 10 dollars, and getting a nearly impossible to find transfer, and not having to do any of the work, I would personally consider that pretty good value and wouldn't care much who ended up with the original discs.

e.g. If I could give someone $100 today as part of a group to get an IB print of ANH, have someone scan it and return me a copy of the scan, I wouldn't hesitate. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest who ended up with the physical goods at the end of the day.

Just my 2c.

I was just saying .... the economy is still tight for plenty of folks, myself included, I certainly wasn't trying to be mean.
