Info: Our projects released thread
Time

I watched "The White Buffalo" tonight.  Nicely done Team.  It brought back memories of the night I first watched oh so many moons ago as a kid.  Gotta love Bronson with the shades and hat on ..... LOL.

I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see this.  They could NOT make movies like this now ...... we don't have actors that could bring this kind of natural grit.

Cheers!!!!

I have the xXx Superbit.  The DTS track, while good, still to me lacked the overall impact of the theatrical Dolby Digital I saw.  I mean, I did see it in a really well tuned cinema, but still, nothing has yet to match just how good that mix was.

I'd love to get the cinema DTS disc synced to the Blu-ray and compare.

The AC3 track from the DVDs was pathetic.

I read in one of those other forums about Cinema DTS preservations that the DTS disc used with xXx in the theaters has been found.  Haven't seen it surface anywhere just yet though...

nafroe,

Welcome to the forum.  These discs don't just surface magically.  The editing process for synch does take some time and we usually plan this around a project.  DoomBot and I have another round of movies to work on for the audio sync.  I can certainly add this in now that others are looking to see the movie this way.

:)

That is why we need someone with the JP superbit, i have a rip somewhere I think as we have the cinema DTS and can 1:1 it

 This, I know I have.

It the only way to be sure of this theory

I will rip my JP-DTS Superbit and send it to you.  I'm betting we'd have to go through each movie separately to compare DTS audio.  I don't think it would be as simple as testing 1 movie.  I could be wrong but the studios aren't always that smart as we seem to find out from theory testing ..... LOL

Help: looking for... Original Terminator Mono Soundtrack from LaserDisc

I have found many mentions of it, and how it is available, but I do not see where to download it.  In the thread below it is specifically mentioned, but it appears the download link is missing.

Is there a certain site that is used to download from?

OT.com is not a download site.

Godzilla Raids Again - Japanese Version Restoration Project (Released)

As I have not watched this yet, since I have to still ask for MySpleen membership, I am impressed with the screencaps in comparison to the footage included on the CM release.

I'm new here, but this caught my eye as I am seeking to cut and join the first three Godzilla films into a single narrative as displayed in the Japanese version.  [Mainly Gojira, King of the Monsters and Raids Again.]

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to rewatch the film in an enhanced visual quality as I am impressed with this work.

DTS audio preservation .... UPDATE 07 May 2015 ... Work In Progress
Time

A SURPRISE Update:

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises has been FOUND!!  YAY!!

Now that I've announced that I want to say something about my discoveries .... when I get these I usually get dupes of cinema discs I'm looking for so they won't have all the normal info on the face of the disc.  I do have some actual discs that are not dupes .... but not many.  These dupes work NO different than the originals.  A DTS machine would recognize them as they would the original disc.  Other finds I have are straight 1:1 ISO's of the discs I am looking for so I have to burn them or use them straight on the PC.

Hopefully this clears up why I may not always have answers to certain questions like dvdmike's.  There are however ways to find out as borisanddoris has shown.

Cheers!!!!

I have "Strange Days" and "Timecop" on DTS laserdisc, and the technology to capture them.  (LDP with S/PDIF output, Audigy 2 ZS with S/PDIF inputs.)  I just haven't hooked it all together yet.

I also have various SUPERBIT DVDs with DTS, but I assume those aren't as rare, and don't have as high a bitrate as the laserdiscs.

 clench,

Welcome to the forum.  This thread is mainly geared towards cinema DTS but I'd bet money we probably have some folks that would be interested in Laserdisc DTS as yet another audio alternative for preservation projects.

Keep and eye out, I'm sure you'll find some takers.
