Be prepared ...............................
Looks interesting .............. am I correct in guessing that you upscaled the Japan 720p to 1080p in the remastering?
Now, had you mentioned a change like seeing the alternate take of Dengar in his wife's nightgown or IG-88 in his Ron Jeremy mode ....... that would have been priceless.
;)

Has anybody come across Cinema DTS of Ridley Scott's 'Gladiator'?
Since there hasn't been any need for a restoration of this film it has not been requested. When I get audio, it is for project purposes.
Are there issues with Gladiator's audio?

I suspected you weren't being serious, but you went kind of far with it and sarcasm isn't easily picked up in writing. Well, at least you have a sense of humour.
Strangely I didn't go as far as some do here and they are better liked than I am but yes, I DO have a sense of humor. I did enjoy the read as well. Lucas SUCKS!!!!

Wow...why didn't anyone tell me that Fo was having another humor-freeze?
Because Fo was NOT having another humor-freeze ..... if you can do these kinda of things, the rest of us can do them as well, right? Apparently at least 1 person got it ...... LOL

Was the Criterion DVD audio the 5.1 remix?

I believe it's priced too high to start ......

This TOTALLY explains it ...... and I live in Milwaukee.

Sometimes, it takes a bit. Now that I've got 1 & 3, finding 2 might be a bit easier. Hopefully.
I will let you know Bring it On is decoded.
Thank you very much, this is greatly appreciated, and we wish you great luck on RH2, would love to have lossless audio for this baby.
DJ,
I've got a lead on RH2 .... I'll keep you posted.
Now that is music to my ears! this would be great news, thank you and I will keep my fingers crossed.
By the way all this DTS talk just reminded me I have not yet put my DTS LD rip of Mortal Kombat in sync yet, I keep reading this blows away the blu-ray audio and I want to hear the differences now myself.
If you decide to upload that DTS LD audio, please let us know. I would love to sync it to my bluray and give it a spin.
:)

Well, I must say that if the only problem with the release was that it has the 1981 crawl, that certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. An iTunes only release on the other hand, definitely would. I seriously don't understand, why someone would be willing to pay nearly the same price as for a BD to download a 4GB 1080p with vastly inferior sound and little to no extras. I've had the opportunity to see a few iTunes encodes and they were horribly compressed - the only kind of film, where this kind of compression wouldn't matter much would be a CGI animated film with no grain, so an iTunes only release of Star Wars would be a total slap in the face.
And a simple scan of an IB print with no further work done on it would also not be a satisfactory release - you have to do color correction on a scan, to make sure the colors correspond to the way the print looks when projected. The prints are pretty old, so there would be dust and scratches and stuff, that should be cleaned up (although admittedly a wet gate scan could take care of most of those) and even with just that, it would be an acceptable release, but definitely not a good one.
I agree with you on all points.
I certainly want to remain hopeful but the only release I see ever happening is what's already currently available on the market .... George's SE, now the only "Original" version of the OT.
The GOUT was merely a somewhat better laserdisc transfer than we're used to with loads of warts that were easily fixed by them but ignored.
I'm far happier with my Laserdisc versions any day of the week.

Fair enough. While I fully expected (and hoped that) uploading that video to YouTube would make knowledge of the project more widespread, I know that others here have expressed hesitation at spreading the word for various reasons. I've been helping a steady stream of newcomers to SWDE learn how to download the project for a few months now; I figured it's a good way to help curb the frequency of posts made here asking for help.
You mean all those hit n runners myself and some others had to stop giving invites to because they couldn't stay long enough here or the spleen to even become temporary members after getting what they wanted ..... LOL.

Is there DTS cinema anywhere for Get Smart (2008)?

So, you've uploaded the video to "help spread the word" about the project and now that the word has indeed spread somewhat you... toy with the idea to make it private in order to prevent the project from gaining attention? What were you expecting?
Agreed. They may also think that HanDuet is actually Harmy in disguise and that could be either good or bad.
I'm hoping we stay safe here. Disney may or may not put us out to pasture depending on the fine print between them and Lucas.

This is quite a rare find. I'd suggest if someone here is in to this and can swing it that they snatch it up.

He seems to have taken it upon himself to be the Fun Police . . . as in, no fun allowed on this forum.
Because, you know, we're not here to talk about how much fun we have watching certain movies or anything.
Yeah, that's what I'm doing ....... LOL

I reek of Frink because I have a similar sense of humour. However, if you check out my thread here to see that I have an unusual amount of devotion to my sock account if I am a sock. And if I seem like Frink, that thread indicates otherwise.
It is what it is right?
I just don't think it's fun to discourage new users with sarcasm. It's not their fault the search function no longer works .... and when it did it was shotty at best.
I think those types of things are better left to the off-topic section.
RicOlie_2 said:
Besides, you can ask the mods if you are so convinced. Not that that is conclusive, but it supports my non-sockiness.
Actually, asking the mods would produce nothing of the sort unless I had my own outside proof. It also does not support your non-sockiness in the slightest as it's known that some socks apparently had multiple users, you may be no different but since privacy is on a need to know basis and since I don't qualify for need to know I am left with supposition only.
All I know for sure is, to me, .... you reek of Frink ...... LOL.
RicOlie_2 said:
Well, it proves that I was here before Ric was banned.
It does. I obviously misspoke before posting that. Then again, I never spent anytime in off-topic until recently, and there were quite a few things I had no idea about until I did.
RicOlie_2 said:
I wrote my post in such a way that it would be easy to tell I meant the exact opposite, and then you could gather that the other stuff didn't bug me. So I thought, anyway. You don't seem to catch on very quick though. ;)
I catch on fine ..... I just don't think scaring off new members with sarcasm is a good retention strategy. It's just my opinion though, not written in stone anywhere.

I've suspected RicOlie_2 was a sock since it appeared after the first RicOlie was banned as a sock ..... I just don't know how to prove it.
:(
Check my join date and you are effectively un-proved.
I've learned not to rely on join dates here ....... especially when there were other socks around here long ago as well. You've un-proved nothing ..... :)
RicOlie_2 said:
If you didn't pick it up at the last sentence, Jetrell, then you're either failing at sarcasm, or my attempt at humour is going waay over your head.
I meant the exact opposite of what I was saying and I made it pretty clear (I thought so anyway...I wasn't that bad, was I?).
It would be nice if you left sullying other peoples threads to the off topic section instead of looking for more victims to ridicule in the main forum.
And yeah, it was bad ..... way too much cheese, talk of puppets, and Star Wars musicals ..... please tell me you have better material?
