By reading the info above would anyone think that this is a Digital Broadcast rip or a Bluray Rip?

There is no 1080p version. It's 720p only.Someone in the comments over at Trekcore claims otherwise: http://trekcore.com/blog/2013/09/into-darkness-exclusives-part-ii-itunes-extras-enhanced-commentary/
corysims
You can get the enhanced commentary in 1080p on ITunes. You just have to set your preferences correctly in the iTunes program.
I saw this ..... "iTunes IMAX 1.78:1 Footage vs. Blu-ray 2.40:1 Footage
(Commentary video available in 720p only)"
Weird .....
Such a bummer to hear. I would take a stab and guess due to the fact that it's an HD they would tend to be interested in it .... with Homeland Security and all, LOL.
Outside of that, tracking, is especially handy even though it's an added expense. It's your security with items such as this.
I hope they BOTH arrive safely.
I was finally able to snatch the DB rip of ST: Nemesis from the newsgroups. I am checking it out as I type. It looks very nice. I look forward to getting at least the last 4 movies before JJ's reboot outfitted with their cinema DTS audio.
Keep watching this thread for more. Doombot and I are getting ready to start our second set of edit/synch of DTS audio.

Have any of these managed to be shared? Considering the amount of custom BDs on the Spleen, I don't think these should be too big of an issue, long as waliking dork is asked. Really would be nice if they could be. Things seem to stand like this:
- The Motion Picture- I'd be interested in an HD cap of the DC or the TC. A DC HD cap would probably be an upscale, yet it would be better than a compressed DVD, likely. A TC HD cap may not have as much DNR, but the BD is less damaged by DNR than contrast-boosting.
- Wrath of Kahn- I'm going to be honest, this looks all right to me on BD, and the amount of DNR is really minimal. It still looks very film-like. An HD cap of the DC would be interesting, though, especially with its different color timing. As it's unrestored, I'm not sure of it will genuinely have more detail, though the HD caps of Apocalypse Now show more detail than the BD, so... go figure.
- Search for Spock- Search for Spock would be surpassed by an unfiltered HDTV capture easily.
- The Voyage Home- Same with the Search of Spock as this release looks pretty bad. I'd also be interested in a recreation of the international version. Maybe the LD could be transferred, Andrea? :)
- Final Frontier- Would be surpassed by unfiltered HDTV capture.
- The Undiscovered Country- I'd be interested to see the DC cut or the Home Video cut in HD. The BD is the worst of all the Star Trek movies, looks like the master was just 1080i. I think I prefer some of the alternate cuts to the theatrical one; which cut is the one on the HDTV cap that's just been found?
Whatever was in the newsgroups is what I have .... TPM Theatrical thru Nemesis. I want to say they were all SkyHD caps .... I could be wrong. I enjoy the way they look but I'm not a PAL junkie so the audio for Generations to Nemesis will get the cinema DTS treatment.
I'd have to say the Spiderman 2.1 is my goto of the 3. Number 3 could have been far better of course. Number 1 is still good due to DaFoe's acting, he really does make a great comic book villain in to something more tangible which I like.
As for Amazing Spiderman ..... I'm not convinced just yet. I have the first 1 on Bluray (I was hesitant to buy it at all) and there isn't a big feeling of impending doom to it. It just kinda is. Now, if number 2 comes off better which I suspect it might, I may have a change of heart. All we can do is wait and see.

So this is the beginning of my preservation project for these trailers. First I have to scan my reels, I decided to use my nikon film scanner (coolscan IV ED, LS-40).
I disassembled my scanner to see how it will be possible to scan my reels with it. That black plastic thing going to the right is where the films goes through, it continues to the rear end of the case:
So I just have to make a hole in the scanner's case to let the film out. You can see the marking where I'll have to make the hole:
That way i will be able to have each part of the reel on both sides of the scanner. What is already scanned on the back, what have to be scanned on the front.
I'll post images of the setup once i have finished meddling with the scanner.
Are you still going to post some shots of your final setup after modifying the scanner insert? I would love to see how it looks with the film moving through it. I may purchase one of these myself for a few trailers I have so I have been watching this thread to glean any info I can.
Thanks

Can't we all just get along?
Perhaps it's a personal failing, but I can't get along with people who act like doinks.
Seems I had the best teacher on the site then ..... :)

Why yes I did. And Frink says I have no sense of humor.

and where would one put the other channels??
If one HAD SDDS audio to play with one would HAVE to probably spend a large amount of cash for a system that would do 8 channels of surround like a theater does. Then, the money it would cost just to capture SDDS would be more than said surround system.
The one other thing to remember .... SDDS was the least reliable due to it's placement on the film stock.
Go lick tar paper ..... :)

Some re-issued films MAY have DTS discs. Star Wars of course (1997 re-release) and E.T. (2002 re-release).
I'm trying to think of any other major re-releases in the past 20 years that would have discs that would be desirable. It's possible Back to the Future did, but I'd imagine they'd be rare.
Also, Sony, Disney, Warner, and some others weren't supporting DTS until a little later on into the 90s. Universal, Fox, and MGM I think were all there in early on, with the others coming on board later.
So for anyone hoping for Last Action Hero in DTS, well...
Too bad no one is able to get those SDDS-8 mixes somehow. I wonder how those could even be presented at home.
Alien Director's Cut release was one as well, so was Little Mermaid. As for SDDS, I don't even know IF there is a way to get it unless one could somehow capture it in the chain. Then it would have to be handled by specs as best as one could.
What I CAN tell you is this ..... DTS started in 1993 so any movie before that year will NOT have it. That said, it is not a guarantee that movies made after will as we found out with The Arrival which was Dolby/SDDS ONLY.
I can do a search DJ, and see what I can come up with. I'm glad that you'll be getting audio wanted for the RH2 and BIO projects.
Cheers!!!

I'm not sure if this is the place to do it... or if it's already been requested... or if I should even ask at all... But I'm just gonna go for it... Has anyone seen a Cinema DTS disc for the original Shrek? The DTS track on my DVD sounds worlds better to me than the Dolby track, but I'd imange the Cinema DTS disc greatly improves upon its DVD counterpart.
nafroe,
I don't make it a priority to do personal requests for DTS audio. Considering it can take some time to find some of these I usually look when a project is in search of alternate audio or for my own personal use.
That being said, if I look for Shrek, then I will see if I can find all 4 movies for future audio possibilities. I will take a look but I cannot promise you a due date or finding it at all. If someone I know has it there is always the possibility that I end up donating a little to them for their help in acquiring the discs. I don't pass on those things to the folks who are using them to share with everyone and this audio has to be edited to sync with video. I do not know your skill level but it is never a matter of just rip and sync .... these do not work that way.

May I dare to ask you if "The Arrival" is available?
There is no DTS for The Arrival. However, to answer Silverwook's question, there IS DTS for Titan A.E..
To kk and andrea, thanks for the nice words. DoomBot does the bulk of the work, I am simply the acquirer and decoder. Acquiring is a game of patience so that usually takes the longest. I am thankful to him for accepting my request in the first place. We work well together and everyone benefits.
When TeamBlu releases their S.E. set people will get to enjoy the cinema DTS that was kindly donated partially by Silverwook and his anonymous donator and my acquiring of TESB afterwards.
Teamwork makes ALL the difference. Thanks to everyone for being supportive and patient.

I've posted a 720p upconversion of the SE trailers to myspleen. They use the original Theatrical DTS mixes for the audio.
They're fairly high bitrate, and they look pretty good, but they are upconversions sourced from LD.
I've downloaded this set and it IS worth the bandwidth to get.
:)
schorman,
Your solution was better than anything available and still is until there are actual released hi-rez film scans without team logo's and such placed on them. I was proud to be a part of your project. I'd do it again without thought.
:)
They look really nice.

Another teaser,
A little info about this cover. DJ asked me to do this a little while ago. I racked my brain trying to come up with some thing for it. I think I had 2 or 3 front covers that just didn't work. Image elements for this were very hard to come by and sometimes when I am coming up with covers I start with something I think of and the cover goes in a complete different direction and that is what happened with this one. I kept digging for images and elements and I had a bit of help from a couple different posters and covers for layout only and I am very happy with how this finally turned out. A few tweaks and adjustments but that is always the case with me. Lol
I'm never really not liking ideas I see for covers as I think there is a huge wealth of talent on this site with regards to these things. That being said, as I looked at this one there was 1 thing that left me a bit off .... on the front it says "Big Show, Big Shape, Big Chest, and a Big Cheer" ...... what was it about that line I didn't quite get ..... "Big Chest". I am a guy who likes girl boobs so don't get me wrong ..... I'm down with that.
To me, it over-sells what is already there with this movie. If it had said "Big Dreams" .... I would probably never have blinked on that one phrase.
This is not a poo-poo of the artwork or it's author ...... I love it ...... I just didn't think "Big Chest" added anything to what is there as a whole.
:)
Looks like it's time to get rolling on audio decoding ..... :)
