The screenshots are from the new cap. It does look good.
By the way, the screenshots aren't showing up because image tags work differently on this forum. See the help section.
The new capture does look really nice. I was very pleased to see it in it's theatrical form as well. It's been awhile.
Very nice indeed.

Oh, and IMO, DS9 didn't fuck up Star Trek. If anything, it rectified some of the damage that TNG had done and restored some of the fun to the ST Universe that had been lacking in it since the TOS films had come to an end.
I agree with you 100% on this. DS9 gave Star Trek it's teeth back.

Very cool.
I got my daughter her new bike today. She picked it out along with a helmet and pads. Soon as I adjusted some things she was off and cruising with a friend.
It's great to see your children gaining their confidence and being happy about it. It was a great day to be me.
:)
I've got my film in hand. Maybe poita is feeling well enough to do the scan. I'm going to send him a pm.
Putin is a Brony?
teeheehee
Okay, here is the update ......
To keep the flow of info I took time out of my schedule to hook up the VCR and preview the tape. There was NO capturing done.
The time frame for each loop is 25 minutes a piece. The segment begins with TV promos about reactions to the film and a trailer. The second part of the segment is a short "making of" that goes through a few sections of production.
That is all I did and saw.
I hope this quells some of the curiosity for now.
Thanks
I just got a pm asking me if I've viewed said tape and if I can say what time frame it loops at.
I want to politely stress that while I don't mind helping out with what I can, Andrea is the person I will send the info to so he can disseminate it here. I have school work and tests going on before Easter Break ..... those MUST come first.
I am grateful for the enthusiasm but please check here instead of pm-ing me personally.
Thanks for your understanding and support.
Abandoned maybe ..... it is certainly heartbreaking.

Greetings,
Some of you might have noticed my thread in the fan edit section. I'm currently working on a fan edit of TMP and am finding myself in need of a color timing reference as well as the original PCM soundmix.
From what I understand there are two LDs out there: widescreen theatrical, and panscan SLV. If possible, I'm looking to get a bit perfect copy of the SLV and Theatrical PCM stereo mixes and 264 compressed copies of the video from both discs as well. Given that the HDTV broadcast, Directors Cut DVD, Blu-Ray, HD trailers, and Blu-Ray pre-"restoration" special features all have different color timing I'm suspect as to what is most faithful to the original negative. Assuming the LDs do not have different color timing then the widescreen LD would suffice, assuming they have different, then wouldn't the SLV LD have more accurate color as it was released first?
I'd do it myself however I am completely lacking in LD equipment and need to save up for a grading monitor as well!
If anyone would like to assist in this matter, don't hesitate to reply to this thread or leave a PM : ).

FanFiltration is the one to ask as he did a release of the SLV a ways back. I know I have a copy of it on DVDr. What is the actual source you're editing? You mention more than one version above but don't mention what you're working from.
Heck, if you get all the stuff you're requesting it might leave you little to do, LOL.

I love the term asshat .... it's so in your face, LMAO
Nicely done danilko.
Way back when Laserman was still here there was an effort to help him out due to some health issues. Those of us who donated received a DVD disc from Rikter that had a rather nice repository of cover art. I still have my disc and I have expanded the collection since I received it with new stuff that has come up here and else where on the net.
That said, I do NOT have everything I'm sure. I will take a look and see if I have the original Volume 2 & 3 and maybe even the all in one. It won't happen immediately as I will have to sort through them but if you guys can be patient I might be able to dig up some of the things that have disappeared.
:)
My 9 year old daughter received her Green Belt in Tae Kwon Do last night. I am so very proud of her. She and the other kids worked very hard and stayed enthusiastic through testing.
To top it off, she tells me she's a computer nerd like her dad.
:)
I'm a big fan of practical set pieces and models but the CGI usage in the prequels is the deal breaker. Of the three, TPM has the most natural feel to it. I love the OT because of it's natural elements including the models and set pieces. The prequels have very little natural environment to them as a whole. They remind me of digital cartoons and the dialog is sketchy at best from film to film. I believe TPM to be my choice in the like department because it's Liam Neeson delivering them yet they kept him confined.

Prejudice is a topic we could all relate to as we have probably suffered it or witnessed it or engaged in it.
I am glad to see you recognize this openly for a change. It also shows that there can be an open and fair dialog over such matters instead of stripping apart peoples words and psycho analyzing each bit in terms only the analyzer relates to personally.
:)
If I understand your unusual phrasing correctly I think I agree with you.
Concentrating the topic onto what is different between us is actually feeding the topic that the thread is attempting to address, rather than opening it out with prospect of dissipation. People become more defensive of their position if they feel the arena has become adversarial.
You understand it correctly I believe.
We ALL come from different backgrounds of environment and upraising. The experiences we've had personally make each one of us who we are separately ..... it's what makes us unique. That commonality makes us more alike than maybe we know we can admit to because of our personal experiences. It is a bond that should be appreciated, not forgotten.
This could be a great project if those LD's were the source.
:)

All the other talk has been about 'traditionalists' wanting to perpetuate some form of prejudice.
Similarly we don't have a passive aggressive paranoiac's thread.
I appreciate the honesty of your opinion but these comments are a somewhat exaggerated version of what was actually said and reiterated for you and others many times.
Opinion and truth are quite different beasts, you judging them, makes you no better than you say they are.
A lesson we all need a reminder of from time to time.

I am in another country (presumably I know we have one other Scot but I don't think Jet was) but it's no different from me suggesting that Ferris would be more comfortable in Russia or Warb might be more comfortable in the 1950's.
Look, I was trying to be helpful, have a normal conversation, if you don't want that then say so ...... don't pull everybody's chain.
I was actually putting your comments in that sort of context.
I do appreciate this.

Ah I see. It looked like some people thought he was telling him to just get away from him or something like that. I'm a moron, it's really a shame I'm still alive. :P
I was responding to ray_afraid. He was pissing and moaning at me because he apparently thought I was being hurtful by saying so.
I was just trying to understand Bingo's current situation and if it was possible that they could find someplace more peaceful so they could be happy and safe.
I am sorry if it was misunderstood.

Then frickin move to a place where you feel comfortable, safe, and treated equally. Maybe then we can actually have a real conversation with you and not the lone savior of the gay people.
Hell, even Zorro The Gay Blade was far more compassionate, understanding and fun than you are these days. yeesh.
The back of the bus?
No, someplace nice .... maybe the Philippines, Amsterdam, Spain ...... someplace where the landscape is beautiful and beautiful culture surrounds oneself.
This is beyond insulting. Have you any idea what it takes to move to another country? Obviously not.
I don't remember addressing this to you .... I was answering a question from Bingo.
And I don't recall giving a single fuck who you were addressing, you pompous ass. And you weren't answering any questions when you told Bing to move to another country.
"don't remember addressing this to you..." Sorry lord asshole, but if you want a private conversation, move it to PMs.
All you are going to do is add more fuel to the fire because you can, not because you care so yeah, I wasn't addressing you, big deal. Does it make you feel big to curse people out? It actually makes you look rather small.
I didn't TELL him anything. He said he was unhappy where he lived, I thought maybe he'd want to talk about other places he might want to live where he could be happier and less singled out.
My query was sincere, yours was not.

How about another city in your country? Someplace affordable and peaceful. Since I don't know where you live I'm not sure what to suggest. I also don't know your employment status so that doesn't help either. Is there any place you've been there that is more tolerant than where you are?
