OK to those interested,
Jason Goes to Hell Unrated is finished, or I guess I should call it Jason Goes to Hell Unrated the Kane Hodder Tribute Edition lol, we really have some really cool shit on here with him, he is a very cool dude and some of us on the Team actually had the chance to meet and get a pic with him lol.

Well anyways when I figure out how to share then I will post here how you can get it.

Thanks

*edit, also regarding The Black Hole, I have no intentions of not including the overture/intro, I just wanted to read how others stood regarding this, I personally love it.

Most excited on both counts.

I don't understand why anyone would be sensitive to short-bus jokes and then ride along with clown porn posts as if that was much more normal.

What if one of us had a brother/sister/child who was a clown?

What if I'm offended about pornography being thought of as funny?

But really, what about fat kid jokes? What if one of us is fat? Do we just stop telling jokes because some one might get offended? Or do we just deal with the fact that life is full of shit and sometimes telling jokes is just a way of dealing with it from time to time? I mean after our problems one thing that kept us going wasn't clamming up about it every time it came up, but just laughing about it more and more. We delt with it and it got better and people didn't feel awkward around us because they were afraid they'd offend us. But we have thick skins I guess.

Let's face it, we're all living on a tiny little planet in an increadibly vast universe and we and even our solar system is going to die one day so who really has time to worry about stuff anyway?

Obviously nobody is making fun of Frink's daughter but he is sensitive to jokes relating to people with intellectual disabilities, made however innocently. My position is basically that even if I think a person is being too sensitive about something, in a small circle such as this, once we know it bothers them, we can be sensitive to that. If I had an unfortunate run-in with a clown as a child and expressed that, I hope others would show the same sensitivity.

All I can add to this is if a person see's a joke that they might take personally they should "inform" that person politely first "before" turning the hose on them ..... especially if you believe the person making the comment/joke honestly may not "know" about your situation.  Far too many times for my taste have I seen simple things go so awry due the offended person starting a lynch mob without even offering a courtesy "you may not know this" attempt.

Knowing is always half the battle.

Now, Frinks mom on the other hand .......

How to capture HDCP-encrypted HDMI sources (Vudu, Netflix, Directv, Virgin Media, etc.)
Time

A simple question ......

What is the recommendation for Screen Capture freeware with the widest capabilities?

I would like to capture a few things from Netflix and am not yet in the market for a hardware solution.  I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 with a quad core AMD processor and onboard graphics.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Terror of Mechagodzilla/Godzilla vs. Megalon - VHS transfer interest?
Time

Hey all,

I’ve got these two VHS tapes transferred to my HD.  I had to do a small amount of cropping as the pictures were off a bit.

I used Virtualdub with MagicYUV compression and the audio is PCM.

Is anyone interested in these for project use of any kind?  For “Terror” I believe it is the Internation with English audio as it doesn’t have the narrated intro nor does it say Henry G. Saperstien.

The only adjustments to picture I did aside from the cropping was to tweak the saturation and brightness a bit to make them a better viewing experience.

If I could figure out how to get them down to mpeg2 without too much trouble I’d make DVD9’s of them for sharing.

Let me know.

As for the "definitive" nomenclature, I believe to most ordinary folks it means "my go-to version".  That is how they probably should describe it because we have seen definitive versions surpassed by more definitive versions .... the name sake of this forum is certainly a predominant offender.

It is a personal opinion and in no way a permanent or thorough all-in-one description.  We all have personal tastes and each should be taken as-is and not forced on anyone either.

That's all I got right now, really.

I really miss this movie looking like this.  Jedi is a good movie all around, but it's been presented so poorly over the years that it lost it's luster.

I am happy to see it just might get it's luster back.

Thanks for the preview.

Particularly since this sock is an open secret it poses little likelihood of causing any real difficulty. It is simply a prop, not a tool for a troll...

At the time, Ric's handler was a secret.

Don't you ever get tired of being wrong?

Lay off would you.

I'm not trying to start anything up again.  We've been socially peaceful and I want to keep it that way.

"I" did not know it was you and I'm sure most outside of off topic didn't know either.  Is that more to the point for you.

Get back on the short bus buddy ..... you're holding up the field trip to the Zoo.

Jetro, are you the cueball or the carrottop?

NO BILL COSBY He's DEAD TO ME.

You're lucky that there's an alternate short bus for you to ride, then:

Neglify, DuracellEnergizer ..... what do you say to Mr. Frink for hurting his feelings?

Strangely, MY comment was meant for my man Frink (and myself) as a joke .... how it got twisted in to something meant for someone else is beyond me.

:(

Nothing was twisted, your comment bothered me as much as anything that followed.  Given that I have a daughter with special needs, I find nothing funny about short bus jokes.

First off, it was not meant in a derogatory way.  It wasn't even said in a derogatory way.

That's like calling a straight person a faggot and then saying "hey, it wasn't derogatory, I was just teasing you."

Secondly, since I don't live next door to you I could not know you have a daughter or that she has special needs.

Could Leonardo have known your past history when he posted the "show me where you were touched" doll image and you were pissed off?

Thirdly, with all your own slight of hand mischief around this forum, you should be the last person to talk about not finding jokes of any kind funny or not.

I'm pretty sure I have the right to determine what I personally find funny.  I don't find short bus jokes funny.  I also don't find rape jokes funny.  I also don't find fart jokes funny.  Sorry.

What have some of you around here told me?  I need thicker skin?  Maybe it's time the advice you serve is the same advice you yourself should heed.

Not analogous, objection overruled.

:(

 :/

But ..... but ... this is off topic isn't it?  The same place where we can make derogatory sexual innuendos about your mom?  So ..... this makes it all okay right?

I am sorry that I upset you Frink.

I included myself in the joke so I should probably apologize to myself as well.  Sorry Jet, didn't mean to upset you either.

JEDIT:

yeah, that is definitely not funny.   I believe I have already mentioned that I was classified as a "slow learner".   I was not retarded, but closer to it than the average kid.  I was in a special class for a couple of years and then returned to regular classes.   I rode a short bus.  Although I don't know it had anything to do with being in the special class, I rode in the same short bus even after I returned to regular classes, until I went to another school.

Warbler, Danfun .... you were not the only ones as kids to ride the short bus.  I also know some kids who ride the short bus and they make their own jokes about it .... they simply don't care.  The are proud of who they are and are aware that one's mode of transportation does NOT define them as people.  I am sorry if I upset you 2 as well.

Following that line of reasoning we shouldn't allow any money to go to the manufacturers of the recordable Blu-rays we'll be burning the files to also.

Neither of these statements are relevant.  There are free alternatives to newsgroups.  And if a project is only made available on newsgroups, then you are forced to pay for it.  No one is forcing you to use recordable blu-rays.

JFTR, I don't care one way or the other.  I have no interest in non-OT preservations.  Just pointing out what should be obvious.

You're right, there ARE alternatives.  Vines are one of them.  B&P is another.  They both come at some small cost unless the person helping others out is generous enough to do it for free because they can afford to.

If people don't want to pay for newsgroup access (which is a small cost) what makes you think they want to pay for blanks and postage .... usually, they don't.  They want FREE, no work or contribution on their part, just FREE.

O yes, the Hyperspace Collection, of course. Forgot about that one, sorry... I've got to check it out.

Good luck, it seems to be quite seedless.

Considering how long it's already been up I'm surprised to see folks expecting it to be rocking with seeders.  This is normal thing, it's not like someone is purposely keeping you from having it, most people who snagged it and seeded a great deal have moved on to other things.

Well, considering how money is not supposed to be involved, I don't see why it should be required to acquire one of these projects.

We don't allow money to go to the project creator(s), why allow it to go to the newsgroup company?

I get what you're saying here.  There are free trials for newsgroup access and 14 days is more than enough time to snag said releases from there but then people have to learn how to use a newsgroup reader and since most of them may not want to do that (simple as it is) they just want someone to post it for them.

I pay for my bandwidth as do those who are looking to download.

Newsgroups are the lesser of 2 evils in my opinion.
