schorman's HDTV Star Wars Saga Preservation (Released)
Time

They have the UK SKY TV, 25fps, H264 AVC, 1920x1088 video muxed with 448kbps French 5.1 and 448kbps English 5.1 AC3 Audio tracks.  They also have french subtitles and forced subtitles.

My guess is that the audio comes from the 2004 PAL DVDs.

More info (in French) here:

http://www.ladylink.org/star-wars-l-integrale-1080p-x264-hdf

I wonder how they'd look converted to 24fps with NTSC audio?  Thanks for the info schorman.

schorman's HDTV Star Wars Saga Preservation (Released)
Time

After another thread mentioned some alternate sources for HDTV rips, I was able to download some French-language versions based on the same UK SkyTV  rips.  However, these were much higher bit-rate, and not re-encodes.  As such, they are not quite the quality of the German rips, but close.  The colors match almost perfectly and they generally look much better than the "hV" versions.

So I'm curious about these French versions.  What kind of a/v specs do they have compared to the German ones?

Thanks in advance schorman.

Once again, I really don't want to be separated from the people in my real life that care about me right now. I also don't want to risk being separated from them forever (or at least not getting to see them on a regular basis anymore) by taking off so early after being promoted and I would really be screwing them if I did. I really don't know what's so hard to understand about that, and I'm not going to explain it again. But I really do appreciate the kind words, everybody.

Having had my own experiences on such a path I can say with 100% certainty that I'm glad you're still with us and I'm glad you realize how important it is to have loved ones close, they are there for us even when we are not sure.

Godzilla - Anchor Bay 1997 VHS Set Captures (Released)

Alas, Anchor Bay started out as one of those bargain basement video labels.

Do the spools on the tapes in this auction look "fatter" than yours?

Yes, they do.

:)

It appears the Godzilla vs. Megalon had an SP counterpart as well but it will have to be purchased separately.

Back to the drawing board, LOL.

Raw DVD5s of Gigan and Mechagodzilla would be nice since I don't have the Starmaker LDs and my tapes of those particular transfers are EP.

I just started checking this box out and mine are all in EP mode as well.  :(

I'm really bummed as I didn't realize there might be 2 different sets.  I did find out that a second set, like this one, has Son Of Godzilla instead of Godzilla Vs. Megalon.  I do not know if it is in SP or not.

Weird and weird.  Does anyone know if there even WAS an SP mode Anchor Bay release?

Thanks,

Shawn

This project sounds VERY interesting, I hadn't heard much about it until yesterday... looking forward to seeing the results.

This one has been sitting in the shadows for a bit but we're getting closer to release.  Thanks for all the patience everyone.  It is appreciated.

This will be a nice compliment piece to PDBs stuff.

Welcome to the forum.

You will be have to be willing to invest if you want others to invest otherwise you may be disappointed at the responses, or lack of, that you might get with this thread.

A fair amount of us have our coffers kinda tight considering we've contributed to other such projects which are being processed at the moment.

Patience is a virtue but only money and serious interest will get the ball rolling.

Good luck to you.

Is anyone here able to capture BetaCam SP tapes?  I just purchased a A/V Press Kit for the DC and it comes with a tape containing 2 different trailers, some short Ridley Scott stuff along with scene and soundbytes.

I would like to try and include this with the final product.  We are working on this and you can find updates at fanres.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Cheers!!!!

Wow, I completely forgot I was a member 10 years ago :-) I have a feeling that I have my copy from you, Silverwook, correct? If so, I have a feeling it starts during Roddenberry's interview.

dlbsyst - any chance that you share your recording?

Yes but I'm not willing to post to the organ site. I would be willing to share it with someone here directly if that person is able to post to the organ site. This person also needs a fast download speed of at least 20 mbps. If someone is willing pm me for details.

This is great news.  I hope we get to see it.  Me love Star Trek, LOL.

@ PDB - thanx4the kind words;o)

@ faust1103 - The German audio track was a pain in the a** to sync. The only way to fix it is for me to try to re-sync it to the English audio and re-release the entire thing. How badly out-of-sync is it? I'm willing to remedy this and tell you how to remux it back to the "original" release if need be. I apologize for that, I honestly thought that all the audio tracks were synced properly...

You could resync the German audio and release just that to be muxed in as a replacement.  It would be far easier and less time consuming.

There's been a resurgence of this old, allegedly fullscreen DVD release of the Toho cut of Godzilla 2000: Millennium on eBay recently. I should be getting one of these in the mail sooner or later. If the color timing is anything different from the R2 or the '08 HD version, I'll share my findings.

There's also a Polish PAL DVD of the Mike Schlesinger cut out there that uses the same transfer as the U.S. VHS release with a redone TV safe title card. I also need to track down a better source for the screener master of the U.S. theatrical version.

I know I have a fullscreen vhs version and the US DVD release.  The colors on the vhs are a bit washed out to me.  I also have a Japan DVD release.

The Korean DVD is a totally unique transfer. Very vibrant for a release of the Japanese assembly, and there are amusing Engrish subtitles.

Thanks to Spaced I now know I have the Korean DVD of this and not the Japanese one.  Sorry folks.
