Even though we closed the borders to this site, it’s only somehow encouraged the existing members to be even more troll-like, or possibly encouraged people to find hidden sock accounts to troll us. There are some users posting now that just don’t make sense.

This will never change because if users cannot prove they are socks no-one will remove them even if they are socks.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast [spoRv] BD-25 (Released)
Time

This is not a place to ask for download links, it is to discuss the project. I am unsure about other forums but this one does appreciate a bit more polite etiquette when showing interest in projects that are discussed here. Maybe reading through the thread and and the forum would be a better start than just signing up, showing up in a thread that interests you, only to want for free instead of trying to contribute a bit to the community you have entered.

Thanks for listening.

This is very off topic, but I have a question for Spaced Ranger. I’ve been watching Cowboy Bebop on Funimation’s Blu-ray release, and I noticed that space was grey, and even in non-space shots, the black levels just looked poor, and very similar to that screenshot from The Transformers: The Movie. I was wondering if it suffers from the same problem, and if it would be worth starting a thread to talk about it.

Screenshots from blu-ray.com:

Why not just start your own thread then? No need to hijack someone else’s.

I would love to have a scan of the inlay sheets if you can do it AND a nice cap of the TVH with prologue … maybe even a converted to NTSC version … so that some of us may hear it the way we are used to. Only if you have time though.

😃

The scan shouldn’t be too hard, the rest, I can work on over time. 😃

What DPI would you like?

600 should be fine right?

I have the German VHS of the longer version of ST:TMP. I originally bought it in the hopes that one day I’d be able to synch its audio track with FanFiltration’s reconstruction.
Would you be interested in that one?

Does it have burnt in English subtitles?

It doesn’t. Many Germans prefer their movies dubbed instead of subtitled.
So my VHS may only be interesting for the audio track.

Having a nice cap of the whole thing would probably be good. This way an NTSC version could be made and maybe used to average one nice looking VHS version all the way around.

😃

I just realised that you were probably talking about burnt-in subtitles during the Klingon and Vulcan dialogs. I’m pretty sure that these have burnt-in subtitles.

It may take some time, but once I get around to it, I’ll see if I can digitize it for you. 😃

Cool, thank you.

Well what do you know? An hour ago, I walked into a local thrift store and found another set of the complete widescreen PAL VHS collection of the first 8 Star Trek films*, how’s that for a spooky coincidence? It only cost the equivalent of $1 USD: definitely worth it alone for the inlay sheets.

I’ll have a look later and see what condition the tapes are in. If there’s any interest, I could do a quick and dirty transfer via the AV pass-through on my Mini DV camcorder and capture via Firewire into my Mac. Or alternatively, HuffYuv on my PC and its capture card - but that would be a longer term project.

*Including of course, the version of TVH with the Challenger dedication and the ST II-III prologue.

Okay then, you guys could have said that instead of kinda making me the bad guy when I made a joke about what you guys were talking about. I’ve never heard of the movie nor have I seen it so why should I end up being the dick in all this?

Thank you for the clarification.

Your jokes are hilarious as always.

Okay Mr. Civility, the jokes on me, I’m a dick and you’re just so fucking hilarious. You must have stock in Duct Tape. You’d need to, to keep that inflating head of yours from exploding.
