Menace:
Palpatine: We shall follow your career with great interest
Anakin: They blow you up!
Qui-Gon:He can see things before they happen
(really? why didn't we get to see that)
Watto: Jedi mind tricks don't work on me. Only money!
(how convenient)
Queen Amidala: You muzdo something
(she's supposed to say you must do something but that's what it sounded like)
Clones:
Obiwan: Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?
Sith:
battle droid: You're welcome!
droid (to r2) Hey you!
(why do all the droids sound like the chipmunks in this movie?)
Palpatine: Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy!!! And.we.shall.have..........peace (evil smile)
(I dunno if it was the way he delivered it or whatever, but it came out so weird it was funny)
Bail: My wife and I can take the girl. We've always talked about adopting a baby girl. She will be loved.
(too convenient)
Bail: What's going on here?
Clone: There's been a rebellion. I'm sorry sir, it's time for you to leave.
Bail: And so it is.

Padme: "Anakin, you're breaking my heart!"
Yoda: "Not if anything to say about it I have."
Palpatine: "The darkside of the force is the pathway to many abilities some consider unnatural." (being a Jedi ain't natural either)
Palpatine: "Learn to know the darkside."
Padme: "So this is how democracy dies, with thunderous applause"
Anakin: "If you're not with me, you're my enemy"
Obiwan: "Only a Sith deals in absolutes"
(um, so do Jedi)
Anakin Skywalker: My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count.
Count Dooku: Good. Twice the pride, double the fall.
Padme: Hold me, Ani! Hold me, like you did by the lake on Naboo!
Anakin: You are so... beautiful.
Padme: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padme: So love has blinded you?
Anakin: [laughs] Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
Padme: But it's probably true.

ANY line spoken by Jar Jar Binks. Also:
From Phantom Menace:
Obi-Wan: But Master Yoda says I should be mindful of the future.
Yoda: Everything! Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.
C-3PO: I beg your pardon, but what do you mean, "naked?"
C-3PO: My parts are showing? Oh, my goodness, oh!
Shmi Skywalker: There was no father. I carried him, I gave birth, I raised him. I can't explain what happened.
Obi-Wan: Why do I get the feeling that we've picked up another pathetic life form?
Sebulba: You're Bantha poodoo!
any line about Midichlorians
From Attack of the Clones
Anakin: I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM.
Obi-Wan: Be mindful of your thoughts Anakin. They'll betray you.
Anakin: It's all Obi-Wan's fault. He's jealous. He's holding me back.
Anakin: Don't be afraid.
Padme: I'm not afraid to die. I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life.
Anakin: What are you talking about?
Padme: I love you.
Anakin: You love me? I thought we had decided not to fall in love. That we'd be forced to live a lie and that it would destroy our lives.
Padme: I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway. I truly... deeply... love you and before we die I want you to know.
(gag)
Anakin: From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm with you again... I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can't breath. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating... hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me... what can I do?- I will do anything you ask.
Anakin: ... if you are suffering as much as I am, PLEASE, tell me.
Anakin:Just being around her again is... intoxicating.
Anakin: So have you, grown more beautiful... for a senator, I mean
Anakin: One day, I will become the greatest Jedi EVER. I will even learn how to stop people from dying.
Anakin: I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.

-special effects he didn't create bug him, but terrible lines of dialogue that HE wrote don't
-having Han shoot first at Greedo makes him a nasty, unlikable guy, but rescuing Princess Leia for money does NOT make him a nasty guy
-the dozens of plotholes HE created don't bother him as much as an immobile dewback with 5 seconds of screentime
-Jedi Rocks replacing Lapti Nek makes him sleep better at night
-a budget of $10 million brings us Darth Vader, C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Sandpeople and Jawas, while a $130 million budget brings us battle droids, Jar Jar, Watto, Nute Gunray and Boss Nass.
-The battle of Yavin, which held audiences on the edge of their seats in a "failure", but the suspensless and virtually meaningless space battle at the begining of Revenge of the Sith is a success.

What annoys me is that so-called unfinished version of his film made him the billionaire he is today. Not to mention that while he deserves all the credit in the world for creating the characters and worlds we love, he couldn't have done it without the hundreds of people who colaborated on that film and the fans that paid money to see the film. Had the movie flopped, Star Wars would have been OVER. The fact that George is able to keep tweeking with his films is because of all the money the films and merchandize brought in.
Here's the ironic thing. George is always saying how everything related to Star Wars is HIS vision, even though the original was a disaster until his ex-wife, Richard Chew and Paul Hirsch gave some life to his film. It was THEIR vision that turned Star Wars from an average film to a great film. It was John William's music that put emotions into scenes that weren't there, the "crappy" special effects that blew audiences away and the creative sound effects that made audiences believe in this film. George may be the creator, but it was a collaborative effort that made the film work.
The fact that he claims that this version was only 25% complete is a slap in the face of the very people who saved the film's arse. Had it not been for them the film would have flopped badly. Sorry George, it's true.

I hate George's defense of his films when he says the critics hated all of his films. First of all EVERY film gets some bad reviews. Titanic and Forrest Gump got a huge number of terrible reviews and went on to win Best picture! Somehow all the Oscar nods SW got went over his head. Not to mention Empire got plenty of rave reviews even back in 1980 (Pauline Kael, one of the toughest critics ever said Empire was the only good SW movie!) and once Jedi came out, Empire's critical acclaim grew and grew. However, notice that even after Sith as come out, the critics and fans have remained pretty consistant on their views of Menace and Clones.
George may think he's in a power struggle with the current fans, but the lack of respect he shows for the "older" fans is at times a disgrace. After all, if it weren't for the hundreds of millions who bought movie tickets back in 1977 for his film, there would be no sequels, no special editions, no ILM, no Skywalker Ranch, and no prequels.

I think it's a very interesting that George doesn't want to let anyone see the films. Is he ashamed of those versions? Or perhaps does he see the films as a reflection of himself. If he keeps updating the films, they won't get old, which means he won't get old either? I'm no psychologist, so I'm pretty sure there's some underlying personal reason why GL has not only disowned the original versions of the classic films, but wants to control the public's ability to see cleaned up remastered versions of the O-OT.

-Anakin started his adventure as a wholesome and sometimes annoying kid who loved racing pods. George Lucas has always had a need for speed and a love for cars. Heck, he nearly died racing home one day.
-Once he became Darth Vader, Anakin ceased to exist. Vader refused to acknowledge his origins, just like George Lucas has pretty much disowned the original versions of the Star Wars trilogy. He would probably say "those versions no longer have any meaning for me." But they're "the true versions he's only forgotten."
-Just like Anakin became more machine than man, George has made his films more mechnical.
-my signature points out another parallel

Anyway, since George is so similar to Vader, he just needs to be "redeemed" by someone so he can release the OOT. Someone close to him will need to bring him back from the dark side and remember his true self as the director of a movie that was made in the 70's and does not need to look like a film made in the 21st century.

This was taken from an online chat with Dale Pollock, the author of Skywalking, the autobiography on George. What stands out to me is the statement that apparently George hated that Irvin Kershner didn’t make Empire exactly the way he wanted it. I’d hate to imagine what Empire would have been like if George had directed it.

Vader
Whoa, I sound so cool with this mask on. I love it. So where's Padme anyway?
Emperor
It appears that in your anger, you killed her.
Vader
What the hell are you talk bout Palpy?
Emperor
She's dead, I'm not kidding.
Vader
WTF?!!!! You promised me I'd save her from death. You lied! You bastard!!!!
Emperor
But force choking her to death was not part of the plan you moron.
Vader
Damn I'm such an arsehole.
Emperor
Anyway, even if she had survived, what kind of relationship could you have with her under that suit?
Vader
Um... I dunno
Emperor
Padme is better off dead. She betrayed you. She turned against you. She was going to marry Obiwan.
Vader
Speaking of Obiwan, I should thank him for leaving me out there. I am way cooler in this suit. I'm gunna scare da shit outta everyone. The breathing noise is so damn cool.
Emperor
Agreed. But please stop talking like Jar Jar Binks.

True, all the Jedi do. Good is good, evil is bad, Jedi are good, Sith are evil.
Anakin
Then why did you say only the Sith..
Obiwan
Because Ani, George Lucas is trying to butter up his liberal Hollywood buddies to get him that Best Director Oscar he's been dying for. He still can't get over that his ex-wife won an Oscar for Star Wars and he went home with squat.

I agree though that Lucas is full of it when he claims he had the whole saga mapped out. It's so obvious since there are way too many discrepancies. If he had originally intended to have Leia be Luke's sister, they wouldn't have Leia give him that big ole smooch on Hoth. If he had originally intended to have the words "midichlorians" and "padawan" in the films, then they would have been used right away. I think George had ideas of the way things might have been prior to and after Star Wars, but there's no way he had the whole darn story figured out. Had that been the case, the Emperor probably would have had a much bigger role in the OT, Padme would have either not died in childbirth or Leia wouldn't have remembered her mother. I'm guessing Vader wasn't originally intended to be Luke's father. That's fine and I think Obiwan's explaination in Jedi was good enough. It doesn't matter to me if George came up with the idea AFTER he made the first movie.
The fact that George makes so many contradictory statements and has created so many plotholes makes it obvious his original vision stuff is crap. How can an original vision change so much?

- Link
- https://originaltrilogy.com/post/id/158719/action/topic#158719

Here is my list of changes from worst to best:
1. Greedo shooting first. Aside from the fact that Greedo is blind, Han is shown getting his blaster ready under the table, so George's reasoning for the change doesn't make sense. If he never had the intention to shoot first, why was he getting ready to shoot?
2. Changing Boba Fett's voice. For whatever reasons, Boba Fett is a cult favorite and changing the character's voice was just stupid.
3. CGI Jabba in Star Wars. Blech.
4. Luke's screem in Empire, which was thankfully cut out.
5. Hayden at the end of Jedi.
6. The scream of "Weesa free!" at the end of Jedi, which is very hard to hear, but still like nails on a chalkboard.
7. Deleting "where's my shuttle" and the shots of Vader's shuttle flying back and then landing on the bloody Death Star from Jedi!!!!! This totally disrupted the flow of the scene and takes away some of the tension in the scene.
8. The entrance to Mos Eisley. Was that supposed to be funny?
9. Ian McDiarmid in ESB- interesting idea, but hated the new dialogue plus the Emperor seemed to be drunk.
10. The extended celebration in Jedi and the removal of the Ewok song
11. the explosion "rings"
12. the cgi wampa
13. cgi sarlaac pit
14. cgi cloud city changes made when Lando makes his evacuation announcement on Cloud City
15. cgi effects during the battle of Yavin
16. the scene with Biggs added in
I left out some of the smaller changes (like the Falcon taking off from Mos Eisley, the new shots of Obiwan's house and the Sandcrawler)

Basically, I don't think George would have gotten away with making a film like Phantom Menace if it had been the first SW film. Imagine also, if he had made Menace back in 1977 with the same script, a different cast and 1977 effects. I think it would have been the turkey many predicted Star Wars (A New Hope) would be. Could you imagine going into the theatre in 1977 and having a dude in a Jar Jar costume, no pod race, a less impressive lightsaber fight and a very complicated plot dealing with trade disputes, senate meetings and midichlorians?
It's just kind of ironic that many prequel fans not only dislike the OT, but seem to have no respect for the films, especially for the original SW which they find boring, slow and old looking. I wonder how many of them realize that without the OT, the prequels never ever would have been made.
