I will refuse to buy STAR WARS on bluray!
Time

Blue Thunder (1983) and 2010 (1984) had faked stereo surrounds! Thank goodness I still have the DVD!

It took less than a few seconds to notice this and was I fucking angry!

Warner and Sony have there fucking nerve! I wonder if Blue Thunder special edition has this fucked up fake stereo surround that masks over the original monaural surround that fades in as and when its called for in the Dolby film mix, now totally ruined on this so called fucking brilliant crappy bluray!

Same issue with 2010 faked stereo surrounds and even the LFE.1 on both films are fake! The LFE.1 should and only come in as and when it’s called upon! It sounds active all the time! SIGH SIGH SIGH

I wonder if the 2010 on region2 or region1 later re-issue editions have this botched up fake stereo surround remix or maybe they only did it for the bluray in some cheap ass basement using retard pro-tools to fucking piss people off!

I find some bluray ether too dark comparing some generation of laserdisc to DVD to bluray (some).

Grease looks about the same as from laserdisc to DVD to bluray and its in DOLBY STEREO TureHD YEAH, but re-mixed! SIGH as the original wouldn’t have had split-stereo-surrounds for (1977) that’s one year too early!

The version we have is the 1997 re-issue for cinemas that was mixed in Dolby digital SR-D some if not some elements would be true to the theatrical 6trackDolby stereo, road show 70mm release.

Black Rain (1989) as been remixed as I’m sure the 70mm release would be monaural surrounds not split-stereo-surrounds. It sounds fake when listening to the surrounds with crosstalk of some Foley effects that should only remain on the LCR its an off screen Foley effect I noticed when I muted the LCR and listened to the surrounds.

I think the early edition on DVD very first edition is true to theatrical release as the version for bluray is the special edition release that was produced some years before the bluray.#

What the studios often do is take the special crappy edition and do a lazy ass bluray that’s fit for the rubbish bin!

I might buy the region1DVD of Black Rain at some point.

Superman The Movie Audio Problem

On the VHS version (letterbox) it as the original Red like colour background of the Warner Bros logo is the same on the laserdisc?

Also I can hear subtle dialogue panning in the Dolby stereo mix, which gives a wider view to the scope of the image like being there.

I transferred the VHS version to DVD-RW as the VHS taped had been played so much in one spot because I liked the way dialogue panning sounded in DOLBY STEREO! Now I can play it over and over with any tape ware!

What I found was if you lower the centre channel level slightly or get the timber balance sorted along with some dynamicEQ to auto lower some of the sound frequencies it would sound really neat.

I have minor issue to sort out soon, as the relay on the Kenwood AVR is clicking periodically on and off, no sound audio fault on when using the AVR as the outputs go to there own DCX2496 to amps. I think its dry joint on the underside of the PCB that needs to be fully undone I mean the whole circuit board lifted out of chassis that would take me the whole day of undoing it and looking for any dry joints on the PCB that is located near to the relays.

I haven’t tested it with internal amp to determine if there is an actual audio fault. If I tap the chassis, the relays click on and off real fast and that is sure no doubt about sign of possible dry joint on the PCB!

I only fixed the fluorescent display on the AVR early this year as that had dry joints at least 4 or 5 dry joints that prevented the IR working when sending remote control commands to AVR, also the display would go dim and a little tap on the AVR made it work, hence a dry joint on the PCB! And it took some 4 to 5 hours to get the sound system all full wired back up! SIGH LOL

I have another dry joint on one my Pioneer CLD-2590 on the composite video output three pins to solder not a big deal.

Dry joints are fairly common in some electrical faults. I wonder now if that was the case with my Cello DR-810??? I assumed the power supply module gave up the ghost?

Mirror's there so Zilch could see the binding posts are in a single column.
He had recommended that layout (some 6260's had 2x2 grid pattern) for anyone who does lots of lead swapping. I'm using banana plugs now, to make it even easier to swap.

Agreed with the swapping around of leads! I’m just screwing the cables into the back of the binding posts and its tricky in tight space as I can only get one hand in there to do it. SIGH I was thinking of banana plugs a few weeks back to make it easier.

Might add some to the list; look around fleabay for some reasonable priced ones as some cost silly amounts of money making it as it’s a big deal.

Ole Zilch has some cool ideas going around in his head good contributor to the forum site.

Sent you post on LHF.

Got my 6260 from Don Ramon. He's a Los Angeles dealer (pawn shop?) who sells lots of stuff on eBay.

Speakers, in order of production:

- quasi-"001" system (DIY, with 'tater-masher horns, N1200, and D130 woofs instead of 130A)
- L36A
- L166A
- L50A
- L96 (plus extra N150A's for charge-coupling someday)
- L5

They don't all play at once. Heck, some are stacked in a corner at the moment.
I'm "BJL" over at the heritage forum (and real life.)

Is it me or is it the Urei 6290 looks a bit slimmer on height on rack space that is! The cat seems interested in sniffing it out.

I haven’t noticed you, being on in the past as I do with most active members each day.

We don’t get cool Urei JBL items like this in second hand shops over here. SIGH the chances and odds are nil! Maybe in PA store under second hand, but never seen one in the past 20 years, just the newer amps Crown and QSC and so on.

Well I’m online 24/7 on LHF lots of good friends on the site, its family site.

Oh, I see you placed a mirror behind the amp so we can see the binding posts. Neat idea! :D

I'm still ignored.
C'mon JT34 we've a lot in common: six pair JBLs (not surround though) plus a 6260 amp here.
Be my friend!

I’ll make you a special case exception and will put you, (the first on my friends list)! Please tell me more about your JBL set-up and where you got the Urei JBL 6260 amps from. Those are nice professional amps.

But remember! Be nice to me! Be nice now.  There's a good lad.

See all, respect. Now then!

I am back on Jedi Temple34's ignore list.  Given the fact that I haven't interracted with Jedi Temple34 since Jedi Temple34 took me off his ignore list, unless you count posting about being removed from Jedi Temple34's ignore list in the Are you being ignored by Jedi Temple34? thread, I see no reason why Jedi Temple34 should be ignoring me.

No I don’t see no reason at all, you seem like sound, cool person. Just be nice to me okay, deal. good. LOL

The Truman Show (1998) has a laughable moment as Truman drives though the town, while having radio reception difficulties. The higher pitch frequency (I’ve outlined in red).

I recall this bending my ear in the cinema in Dolby SR-D played over the JBL 4675-A.

The tone extends quite far up the HF register. Maybe I need to reset the Spectrumlap to higher scale above 20 KHz.
