Changes in 2004 DVDs

Yes, but the thing is, the Wolfman only got in ANH because they completely ran out of money for the most part and had to grap a left over mask. I am sure from what I understand they would have put anything else in the Cantina instead of a Wolf if they had the money. So while I want the OT to be preserved, I think that change in the SE is legitmate because GL's original vision was that thing would not be in there.

Okay, what did we LIKE about the Special Editions?
Time
Ok, I get what you're saying. Then in that case I think Lucasfilm will allow the OT to be released, even against the intention of the original artist for the $$$, most likely. I mean if you look at Disney, even though I am pretty sure that Walt Disney would never want something as stupid as Dumbo 2 or Cinderalla 2, they made 'um for the cash. Mind you two different companies, but there is the $$$ equation.

No, I do not. But is the standard then going to be what the director and creator of the object like or dislike about the object going to be the basis for inclusion and exclusion? Because if it is, then the Wolfman should have been permantly deleted, the guy who put it in there hated the mask as much as GL did.

EDIT: Double post on accident

Rebel Scumb,

I'm curious, what continuity issue with OT are talking about?

Well Ben says he thought he could train Anakin just as well as Yoda, but Yoda himself lost a padawan to the darkside. Its not exactly a continuity error, but its not exactly cohesive IMHO

Yoda has been training Padawans for approximately 800 years, with one we know of lost to the darkside. (Assuming Dooku doesn't turn back or help the heroes). I would say that is a damn good record. What is that, like 1 in 40? Continuity error, I think not.

Yes but other then AOTC I wouldn't consider any of the SW films to be action films. Adventure films yes, but action films no. And regardless of Mace's ability it difused the drama to have him take out Jango, it would be like Captain america showing up at the end of spiderman to kill GreenGoblin.

Yes, they would make great sense. Obi-Wan takes down Jango, what seems to be a Jedi Master-like feat, and can't stand more then a minute or so with Dooku. Hmmm, perhaps I guess.

You make a good point, though there is one interesting fact I read somewhere, I wish I remembered. And this is not an excuse for GL, but I just found it funny. The guy who put the Wolfman(men) in the cantina grabbed those masks pretty much off the shelf of somewhere. He hates the mask, just like GL. Leading one to believe the only shot left of the Wolfman in ANH may be erased. Poor wolfy, can't have anyone to save you. Except your rereleased action figure.

No, but considering the LD's I own can solidly compete with the picture and audio quality of the DVD's, especially since they're stero as I recall, you get the idea.

Now I didn't mention the special features, I was talking about the audio/visual, but the statement stands. I am saying, Batman and Batman Returns are on DVD. The audio, video, and complete lack of special features suck. I then mentioned that my LD's can compete with them audio/visual, which is pathetic. But by my comparison to my LD, I thought it was understood I was talking about a DVD or why would I make the comparison with VHS? Does it look like I waste my time comparing LD to VHS, something that is obvious? Anyway, I'm not mad and I am glad there is no misunderstanding, not my intent.

This is getting a little weak in that you are saying, "Because we don't like the SE changes versus other changes in movies, that should be the deciding factor." I don't. I would be moved to have a petion for Indy and the glass if I thought anyone cared however. Still, just as with the Faces, a case could be made they are NOT the originals, they are different.

You confirm my beliefs by pointing out the significance of Luke vs Vader, but if you look at the PT does Jedi vs Darth Maul, or Jedi vs Undersea monsters really move the story along? Nope. So why are you getting so defensive when I point out the obvious?

Not trying to be defensive, but be more logically with the pun. And I think it is a slight double standard to say somehow the PT has got more mindless action, especially when you broke the movies down like you did.
