TDS TRILOGY: Specialized Regraded Edition (Released)
Time

TDS Trilogy - A combination of the 97/04/11 SE enhancements while keeping many theatrical elements.

Inspired by Harmy & adywan’s extensive work with Star Wars, this trilogy is intended to correct many unwarranted changes from the Blu-ray and previous special editions, while also removing the infamous blue hue from the Blu-ray.

VIDEO/AUDIO INPUT: 1080p 2.35:1, 640kbps AC3 5.1

VIDEO/AUDIO OUTPUT: 1080/720p 2.35:1, 640kbps AC3 5.1

SOURCES: 2011 Blu-ray (main), 2004 HDTV WookieGroomer rip, HairyHen 5.1 audio

EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE

 • Removed rocks in front of R2-D2
 • Han shoots first
 • Original Krayt Dragon Call
 • Removed Jabba Scene
 • No fade between clip of Alien and Luke & Obi-wan approaching the falcon
 • Regraded based off WookieGroomer/GOUT

EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

 • Restored Boba Fett’s original voice
 • Restored “Bring my Shuttle” line & music cue
 • Cut scene of Vader & co. walking to shuttle
 • Regraded based off WookieGroomer/GOUT

EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI

 • Add deleted scene of Vader calling to Luke (TBD)
 • Remove “Baby-talk” song (TBD)
 • Regraded based off WookieGroomer/GOUT

For edits with a TBD beside them, that means that I lack materials to do so. I tried to export the deleted ROTJ scene from the source, but the disc is apparently defective, as it won’t show up in any of my drives, so if anyone would like to send me the scene in its original quality, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you have any suggestions for any changes that should be made, please let me know.

Necrobump. You can shoot me later. Whatever happened to the 97se ANH film print and the D-VHS of the 97 special editions? They all sounded very promising. As someone who doesn't completely hate the special editions but wants to get away from the horrible 2004/2011 restoration, it would be nice to know what is going on.

I'm still planning to work on this, but have some other commitments I'm trying to fulfill at the same time. Scans are being done though.

Thomas & Friends - Classic Series NTSC Preservation (US dub) (a WIP)
Time

So here's what will be contained in the final set:

THE CLASSIC COLLECTION:

Seasons 1-7, Thomas & the Magic Railroad, and The Classic Song Collection. All are DVD-9, except for the Song DVD, it's DVD5.

All the songs are presented from their highest quality rip currently available. Magic Railroad is also presented in 16:9 for the first time in the US with 5.1 Surround.

I've found a better way to convert PAL to NTSC via deinterlacing, doubling the frame rate, and then convert to NTSC. There are little artifacts and it does the job great. That way, I can do a DVD-9 version instead of BD-25.

That sounds terrific! BTW, do you think the current rights-holders will ever release the classic series on Blu-ray?

10 years ago, HiT went back and scanned the negatives and created new masters, so they very well could, but I doubt the demand would ever be out there, sadly.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

I can't see anything wrong with the teaser. It did its job and gave us an idea of what the style will be. I still can't believe that this is it though, not that I hate it, but because it's actually here.

My only real complaint is the reveal of the Star Wars logo. The fan-made trailers had it so much better, in my opinion.

Let's keep in mind that this is 30 years after ROTJ, which means many things have changed. A different look is probably for the better.

I'm glad we didn't see any OT characters in the trailer. It gave us our new characters and gave them a well-needed introduction. The Falcon was a nice touch though.

They always have, they just haven't released them to the public. Keep in mind, they are plagued by DVNR.

And if it is to be believed, the original negs are conformed to the '97 SEs.

Which is the saddest part of all. I just don't see how you could cut a negative (morally do it, not physically), but hey, that's why I'm here.
