I’d imagine he meant EST.
I’d imagine he meant EST.
Either that or some sort of new artwork for TLJ.
Are they currently still using the SW logo on a star field as the main poster? Maybe they’ll announce the official release poster art.
Indeed they are. I recall two years ago, right before celebration, they started to release art for The Force Awakens. I’m feeling that is what it’ll be for The Last Jedi.

Imagine sitting around all day and trying to provoke people on a Star Wars forum. Stay classy, Alderaan.
That ESB screenshot looks beautiful. They DNR’ed the hell out of that film for the Blu-ray, so seeing this (even with grain reduction) is a sight to behold.
They mentioned a private screening of ANH at Skywalker Ranch in the FFC video. I do hope an OT.com member can win and confirm just what version it is! 😉
Remember when MGM put out a poster to tease the Spectre teaser?
I try not to remember Spectre.
Ditto.
I’d argue it was worse than Attack of the Clones.
Celebration, and GMA talk here:
http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Celebration-2017-Speculation/id/54702/page/6#1064412The frame captures are taken from some of the samples used to show other industry insiders when the restoration was being done.
Tests were made on Star Wars, and The Empire Strikes Back. Yes, the clips are higher quality than the Vimeo ones.
R1
And you have said clips? Are they from the SEs?
I believe they stated that they’re from the 97 SEs.
These screenshots seem to have come from a higher bitrate video than the Vimeo upload. They look much better when not subject to web compression.
Yes. It’s thematically linked more than logically. The same point could be made about Luke in ROTJ; presumably, the team would have destroyed the Death Star regardless of Luke’s success or failure onboard.
Yeah but that’s one thing I like with ROTJ: there is a rehash of the Death Star but it’s not the heart at all of the story, just another story in the background to bring the chain of events in one place.
That’s being said, you should indeed stick to the v1 version of the destruction of the NR.
I agree with V1 being the better option as well. I believe the events worked hand-in-hand in the first edit, while this one seems slightly disjointed.
New book/comic set during ANH. Maybe this is a clue to something they will be announcing at Celebration?
There are times where I hold the prequels in such high regard that I can’t believe what I’m looking at… this is one of those times. I had to go into a frame-by-frame analysis to see that it WAS from ROTS. It was a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment. My apologies.
Well, there goes my dignity, and my respect for this film.
Well to me it’s the cheapest looking SW of the entire series
Actual movie still.

The Star Wars Show again hinted at something huge happening during the 40 Year Anniversary panel today…
Aye, they made a pretty big deal about it…

It feels like they’re hinting at a George Lucas appearance, though I doubt he wants anything to do with it now.
Snapshot of OT footage in Bonus Materials. This looks like the Blu-ray, but overly cropped!

And I’ll make a bet with you that IF the OOT is announced at Celebration, you get a permanent IP ban. What do you say?
Yes, that’s the bet I just proposed, but it’s no freebie for you. You have to put some skin in the game yourself.
I wanted to place emphasis on solely you getting banned, not anyone else who’s wrong. If it is NOT announced, I will publicly say that you are absolutely right about the Disney, Prequel, and all future Star Wars films being absolute garbage, and that my taste is pure shit.
Either way, one of us wins.
Jokes aside, I’m really feeling confident here. Who ever thought they would publicly acknowledge the prequels again at Celebration? Same could be said for the OOT.
Actually, most of the people on this website would at least agree with me that the pretentious stuff is obnoxious and toxic, so I think I am surrounding myself with the right people.
Let’s get back on topic and start posting about the 4K restoration of Star Wars, or how certain you’ve been that the OOT release is going to be announced in 2 weeks.
Disney just HAS to announce it, right?
I would make a bet with you that whoever is wrong between us get a permanent IP ban. What do you say?

See how stupid that sounds?
Alderaan said:
That said, there is nothing wrong with mocking prequel lovers and belittling their bad taste. Kids these days don’t watch those movies. It’s teens and 20somethings that watched them when they were kids and lack the temperament to grow out of childish things that were never any good in the first place.
Imagine being this pretentious…
I get that we’re on a forum called OriginalTrilogy, but we can favor the OT without bearing more of that toxic ill will or disrespect towards anyone else who thinks differently. If we want to put it in perspective, “pro-prequels” are more likely to be younger, and at a point you’re really just shit-talking kids. Way to go, champs.
I don’t look at them as “kids.” I look at “pro-prequels” as “conservative Republicans.” Don’t feel the need to associate with them either. Something to do with intelligence level. 😃
You seem like an open-minded guy!
Yup! I accept those that accept others. So…maybe the Republican comparison isn’t the most accurate in the world because I can have a conversation with a prequel-lover. But…it’s similar.
I didn’t know this was a political forum. Interesting.

As an alternative, you can just send the MKV file to a USB stick, then insert that stick into the USB port of your Blu Ray player. I’ve been doing that for years.
Beware: some Blu Ray players will not play the DTS audio tracks, like my LG model.
Yeah I could do that cheers mate, I will have to check it out as I also have an LG model.
Cheers for the suggestion.
If you Blu-ray player doesn’t play the DTS-HD file, make sure you bring it into TSMuxer and click “Downconvert DTS-HD to DTS”. My Sony couldn’t play the DTS-HD files, but can handle DTS just fine.
I hope fans at Celebration treat Hayden with respect. He’s really not a bad actor or guy, and he’s a fellow Star Wars fan when we get down to it.
But he’s an important part of the Star Wars legacy now whether you like it or not, and I hope no one tries to take that away from him or anyone else who’s grown up with or are fans of him.
Him being here or in TLJ won’t affect the original movies, our preservations, a possible 4K restoration, or whatever your personal perspective on Star Wars is.
He’s going to get a terrific reception at Celebration.
In my experience (two Celebrations) the audience is very much pro-prequel.
No wonder I haven’t gone…
Sorry you feel that way, but your loss.

Thank you for this. I understand the hate, but it’s still Star Wars.
Finally got to watch this in my home theater room, here are somethings I noticed:
All in all, it’s such a great film and rivals The Force Awakens in every aspect. I can’t believe I hated it when it first came out.

LARS HOMESTEAD - KITCHEN INTERIOR
One day was spent filming the scene of Shelagh Fraser as Beru talking to Own in their Kitchen, and an additional scene, later cut from the final theatrical cut, of Beru using a milk dispenser. Fraser’s voice would be dubbed for the film’s release by an unknown actress (who would then be re-dubbed herself, for unknown reasons, for the STAR WARS TV version in 1982, before having her voice returned for the 1997 SPECIAL EDITION re-release).
