How about something like this for Luke’s vision monologue?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-JT3-uGJ-unYkzlU5EOVBqhGVOKincOz/view?usp=sharing
EDIT: New and improved version - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BBZ_c-NaiP_yJLDn2AE-7ZGchcuRHhP6/view?usp=sharing

Also, for your list Hal, plenty of those already have been generated. Are you saying you’d like them all generated again?

Yeah, here are some of her lines with the “slow pace” and more gravelly voice variables:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SR_beM3RIN1yxqGQ-oAP7zo-odIY0jot/view?usp=sharing

And here’s another (possibly better) take of that last Luke line:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/15PUWzlzllReuzFBxl4ssxgXKrAMntmTF/view?usp=sharing

We could opt to replace all of Luke’s vision voice over in the hopes that it sounds more natural that way.

I’ve encountered some good news this morning. The voice cloning tool recently introduced “labels” on your clones, allowing you to specify how you want the AI to produce the voice. I added in a slower pace and more gravelly voice variables, and this was the result (based on Burbin’s line suggestion):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zo03jHaSIST71EEYlxogDI-TJNPWoEUj/view?usp=sharing
https://streamable.com/6xbykh

This sounds extremely similar to the way Mark speaks in the film. For a contrasting example, here is the same line with just the slower pace variable (no gravelly variable):

The goal in replacing it was to avoid spoiling the end of the film. Also, to avoid a similar thing to what you described. Leia sacrifices her life to bring back Ben, and if she knew that would result in his death as well due to it requiring her to be a Jedi again it muddies the waters a bit. It’s better for Ben’s sacrifice to be of his own agency rather than because of some vision his mom had 30 years ago.

Dom, here is the line I was referring to:

I think we’re overcomplicating things with all this “destiny” and “fate” mumbo-jumbo.

“Leia told me she sensed a different calling than a Jedi’s.”

It’s short, simple, and to the point. She had more motivation to focus her efforts on being a mother and political activist. Here are some generations:

I’ve reached the end of my allotted characters, unfortunately. I’ll have to create another account using another email to get a 80% discount so I can go at it again. Alternatively, I can provide somebody with the Mark Hamill audio files if they want.

Hal 9000 said:

Once again, it sounds very convincing as the original actor… doing a table read.

The thing is, the book it draws from has plenty of dialog that Mark acts out like an actual character. So I’m not sure taking lines from the films would make much of a difference. Not to mention how much effort that would take. One other thing I haven’t tried yet (and will once I get access again) is adding in his readings from World War Z in addition to this latest audiobook. In that older audio book, it’s entirely him voicing a character (completely dialog).

Here’s what I’d use for the first scene:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/11EQ8uHXiEJBgntwghxnnmqogN6EJpA2S/view?usp=sharing

And here’s something similar to what Burbin mentioned for the flashback:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hV4s01PHj2_daV9oUlJ1X2txf1fuvjlh/view?usp=sharing

EDIT: On second thought, it may be best to simply ignore Leia knowing something about Rey (keep it the way it is in v2) but replace the other line in the flashback.

I like what it implies, as it matches pre-TROS understanding of Leia’s life story, but it may not match the expression on her face during the flashback.

This is true, I hadn’t really considered this. Although, I’d imagine that her having to tell Luke she doesn’t want to be a Jedi anymore would cause a pained expression like that.

As for the line “Leia told me she had sensed the end of her Jedi path”, I’m personally not a big fan of it. I think Leia picks up her Jedi path again in TROS by training Rey and reaching out to Ben. It also is vague and kinda frustrating.

Luke: “So, why exactly are you quitting being a Jedi?”
Leia: “Idk bro, I’m just sensing some bad vibes or something.”

Yeah, I just assumed you wanted that gone so the viewer can decide what is stronger than blood.

But I think these new lines also help clarify that the vision we see in the film isn’t the first one Rey has. The novelization explains that they’ve been going on for a while, thus why Rey thinks if she tells Leia about them that she’s gonna ditch her as an apprentice.

It would be news to her that Leia also sensed it in her and kept the fact that she knew away from her to keep her happy. Rey thought she’d managed to lie her way out of letting Leia know the truth in the hangar scene.

Conflict line: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bzWcP93WLDpEFnRVpwqloiitA_QOVZba/view?usp=sharing

EDIT: To make this more clear, how about “Leia knew about your dark visions”?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rzfYqFzBtk0DCkiBeHuIsoKerwBOVVku/view?usp=sharing
It would need the following line modified a bit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11EQ8uHXiEJBgntwghxnnmqogN6EJpA2S/view?usp=sharing

Luke: “Because you’re a Palpatine. Leia knew about your dark visions.”

Rey: “She didn’t tell me.”

Luke: "Leia also knew your strength.”

Rey: “She still trained me.” (Rey mistaking mental fortitude for physical strength)

Luke: “Your choices define you. Your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood. Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi…”

Okay, how about this then:

Luke: “Because you’re a Palpatine. Leia had sensed your pull to the dark side.”

Rey: “She didn’t tell me.”

Luke: "Leia knew your strength.”

Rey: “She still trained me.” (Rey mistaking mental fortitude for physical strength)

Luke: “Your choices define you. Your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood. Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi…”

This allows you to recontextualize the conversation between Rey and Leia at the beginning. Leia did know exactly what was going on with Rey, but she didn’t think she needed to say it aloud.

I still think it would be worth having it so that Luke tells Leia who Rey is as a ghost. So it could go:

Luke: “Because you’re a Palpatine. I told Leia after I joined the Force.”

Rey: “She didn’t tell me.”

Luke: “She wanted you to believe in yourself.”

Rey: “She still trained me.”

Luke: “Your choices define you. Your heart. Rey, some things are stronger than blood. Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi…”

I’m not so sure about replacing the whole thing. Mark does a pretty darn good job delivering the other lines. A lot better than what this bot could ever do. It might be better to just slip in the one line to replace the one about her sensing Ben’s death.

“Leia told me that she could best serve the galaxy in other ways…”

Delivery 3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GH5G8G6P6wny9ZwfTPb8d3yqnuxLe5fM/view?usp=sharing

EDIT: I also like your line because it suggests the Force is what led her to make her choice. So I can also generate that. It’s up to Hal what we pick.

Good news everyone! Mark did a really good job making these audiobooks. I currently have 1 downloaded (an hour long of him speaking) that I can synthesize into a voice clone. I’m thinking it should turn out good. If it doesn’t sound quite right for some reason, I’d be willing to download a second audiobook in this series to get 2 hours of content. That’s about how much I put into the Leia voice clone.

I shot you a PM, Hal.

Master Lawdog said:

Hey, Hal. Would you still be interested in having Kylo Ren say to Palpatine, “You’re just a clone” before saying, “What could you give me?”

I tried “You’re just a clone” with my Adam Driver model a while back. Due to the fact that it’s based on his TED talk, it doesn’t sound good quality-wise. Adam’s audio book doesn’t sound much like how Kylo speaks in the intro scene, either.

Plus, I agree with what somebody else said about this particular line. Without Palpy’s response “More than a clone, less than a man”, it would confuse the audience into thinking this dude is literally just a clone and not the actual Palpatine in a clone body.
