Apparently other people don’t like the idea of Kylo saying “You’re just a clone” because it may lead the audience to believe that this isn’t the real Palpy. But that’s kinda countered by Palpy’s new line, “Kill me, and my spirit will pass into you.” So yeah, I hope he can do that one line for us. It’s a nice diss by Kylo (even though it isn’t entirely true). Even if Hal doesn’t want the line in this edit I would absolutely put that in my personal version of 2.0.

Hi. I don’t read all the messages of this thread, and the last time I saw TROS was in the cinema, so I have a question (if you guys doesn’t bothered to answer): In the scene of Luke and Leia training, what’s the difference between the new dialogue from this edit and the original dialogue from the movie? Just curious to know what improvement you are making on the scene, and how it helps to improve the film as a whole

We also replaced “you’ll take both sabers to Exegol” with “We’ll always be with you”. At least that’s how I remember it.

I’d be more of build-up. It doesn’t confirm WHY they abandoned her. Also in TFA and TLJ pre-throne room they already give out evidence and hints of Rey’s insecurities. (That’s also my Reddit post.)

In the previous Force bond scene (which takes place right before the mirror scene) Rey denies that her parents abandoned her, so it would kinda be a whiplash 180 turnaround moment imo.

Something else I was thinking about: Does anyone else think it’s kind of weird when Rey is telling Leia that they have exactly one chance of saving the galaxy before everything is destroyed, and Leia’s response is essentially, “…Nah”? I wonder if there would be some way of supplying Leia with some clarifying dialogue (“Once you’re training is finished…” “You’re not ready for this yet…”). Either that, or just cut straight from “Find Exegol. Find the Emperor.” to Leia looking up, to Rey refueling the Falcon.

Why on earth would Leia reject the one potential chance they have? Why does Rey care about Leia’s “blessing”? If Leia has a legitimate reason for rejecting the plan, why doesn’t she argue the point? (The answer for all of this is that “Disney had a shot of Carrie Fisher saying ‘No,’ and wrote this entire, stupid exchange to capitalize on that shot.”)

Yes please. The reason why she doesn’t want her to leave has been removed in this edit (she knows Rey is a Palpatine).

I’ve already looked extensively through the available dialogue and the only thing there is is “Too long…” before Rey interrupts. Other than that, I think this scene could use a trim or two.

I know it wouldn’t be possible for only his prequel memories to be restored because in the later scene he recognizes Luke’s X-wing and realizes that doesn’t make much sense. So if we were to include his prequel memories getting restored it would have to be along with everything else. I suppose that also begs the question of why R2 didn’t give him those memories sooner over the past 50 years.
