So unfortunately we are unable to remove the background noises of the lightsabers. And because of that those lines would have to be created by someone who can do a good Anakin impression. But as you said, you aren’t interested in disturbing Hayden’s performance. So our only option would be to find a better way to isolate his lines in those places.

But yeah Kylo would definitely want to emphasize the potential dark side of her destiny, the trouble would be doing that without having him lie in such a critical moment. Even Vader doesn’t lie to Luke. I tried a new line in my previous comment, but anybody else can take a crack at it, too.

Exactly, this is what I was trying to nail down with the dialog. The moment still needs to be a big scary reveal for Rey. With everything that she goes through in the film (being drawn to the dark side), her being told that her upcoming decision will essentially decide if the galaxy would be plunged into darkness or back to the light is a HUGE amount of pressure. It gives her a reason to go to Ahch-To. Her thinking could be that if she never has to make that decision the galaxy would be better off without her.

And yeah, we don’t want it to be that she is THE chosen one, because then she’d know she will make the right choice in the end. Rather, she is chosen by the Force to determine the future. And she should be well aware of how much death and destruction Vader caused.

Also, does Rey have a dad if she’s chosen by the force? Do all chosen ones have no father like Anakin? Rey seems to insinuate that she had a father, but she could just be assuming that. Probably not super important but worth thinking about.

Somebody can head canon it that Rey was an immaculate conception if they want, it could be that Rey’s “dad” just started dating/married her mom after she was already pregnant or after she’d been born. So he’d be her step-father.

EDIT: I think I’ve got his line squared away - “Because he saw what you could become. You don’t just have power. You will decide the fate of the galaxy… The Force chose my grandfather. You’re chosen for his legacy, light… or dark. What Palpatine doesn’t know is we’ve become a dyad in the Force, Rey. Two that are one. We’ll kill him. Together. And take his fleet.”

Dayum I could actually get behind that Burbin and I’m partial to Rey Palpatine.

What you described would be perfect for Kylo to say to her in their “reveal” scene in the hangar bay.

“Why did he want to kill a child?”

“Because he saw what you could become. You don’t just have power. You will decide the fate of the galaxy… My grandfather was the chosen one. You were chosen by the Force, too. What Palpatine doesn’t know is we’ve become a dyad in the Force, Rey. Two that are one. We’ll kill him. Together. And take his fleet.”

EDIT: This way you could also keep his line “the dark side is in our nature” later on since they’re both linked to the same man technically.

It isn’t something that AI would create 100% though. It’s more like applying a voice filter to the preexisting performance.

Hayden’s voice could probably be fixed - it would just take quite a bit of effort.

We’d need to rip the center channel of when he’s speaking from other parts of the film and isolate his voice with AI. Then we use that as source material for a voice clone. And then we input his lines from the Kenobi scene into the new ElevenLab’s feature. His lines would then sound like his younger self and be delivered exactly how they were originally.

But yeah that’s a lot of effort for only one piece to the puzzle. The camera work is always going to be out of place.

The problem is mostly that the cinematography styles don’t match and the actors are visibly two decades older.

101 words is too many for a crawl. Ideally it should never reach 90 words as none have thus far.

I think what we have for the first two paragraphs has been locked in for a long time now. There’s really no sense in even touching those. As for the final paragraph, I actually appreciate how it mirrors The Phantom Menace’s crawl. Any additional links we can add to the prequel trilogy in this movie are very welcome because they clearly tried to distance themselves from those until IX.

Besides, as our good pal George would say: “It’s like poetry. They rhyme.”

I don’t want to start shouting in the house for that line and have my family think I’m crazy but my preliminary tests are pretty darn good. I just need to collect Poe lines from the required scenes and have the background noise stripped using RL’s isolation software.

Ideally, there are also other people on the forum here who might sound more like the actors. It mostly just depends on your inflections, though. But my microphone quality isn’t the most fantastic out there. I’m completely reliant on NVIDIA Broadcast AI tools to make it sound good.

Looks like you can now use your own voice in ElevenLabs on any of your previously cloned voices to guide the generation. Should make creating new lines pretty straightforward. I’ve done a fair bit of stage acting before so I should be able to handle this.

If I recall correctly, we wanted to fix Poe’s line about Ilum and add something about not wanting the sacrifice of the Republic to be in vain - in order words give a reason why they go in for another attack run on Starkiller.

I have to agree. This show is titled Ahsoka for a reason. It was supposed to be about her character’s journey and overcoming her harsh past. All of which is covered by the WBW. New Republic stuff just felt like stuff obligated to be there since it’s a TV show. And the emphasis on Sabine was… well let’s just say disappointing. Not much you can do about that except hope people identify some parallels between the two of them.

I like both Nev’s and Eddie’s. No real preference.

Commissioned works wonderfully. They’re only giving permission and direct authorization for Resistance pilots to search their territory for clues to Luke’s location, as well as the tools to travel beyond their own territories for such clues. Anything more than that would be seen by several Senators as an act of war against the First Order, which is what they’re trying to avoid.

Basically, they’re playing the political game. The Republic can tell the First Order that they aren’t fighting against them because they gave supplies to the Resistance under the pretense that it was only to find Luke Skywalker. But Hux is wise enough to realize that the Republic is just using this as an excuse to support them.

The New Republic needs to be set up as fragile in order to justify why a militia such as the Resistance is necessary in the first place. They’ve put all their eggs in one basket basically, which is to protect the Hosnian system.

We also don’t want Senators to outright support the Resistance, as this would clash with Leia’s scene where she considers that most of them think she’s crazy and won’t listen to her. It’s better that they’ve only commissioned and helped with the mission to find Luke Skywalker, rather than supporting an all-out war with the First Order.

We are of the same mind it seems, SMan. I’m a huge fan of this edit, as well as CoD, but I just can’t stop myself from a purely extended version of ROTS. Plus, I actually slid the Yoda vs. Dooku duel into the end of my personal copy of this edit.

One day I’d definitely like to see a super-duper extended version of AotC with the Kenobi flashback in it. I’d mostly want to see if that scene allows for the rest of the Anakin and Obi-Wan scenes to make sense, as well as give purpose to Anakin’s rants about him to Padme. With Padme’s family scenes, the cringe from the Anakin and Padme’s love scenes might be subdued a little, too.

But I have a feeling this will probably remain my definitive version of Episode 2. Like you said, it’s just a fun film providing a great time now without all that baggage. You don’t really have to think about or justify any of the questionable content since it’s all been smoothly cut out.

It really depends on how radically he changes the story, for me at least. If he’s changed like 25-30% of it, I’d say there’s a good chance of it being super good. But if more than half the story is completely changed he’s gonna have a seriously difficult time using the available footage to weave that new narrative in a convincing way. My suspension of disbelief might be shattered if there’s just too much trying to be reconfigured.

I don’t wanna be a pain in the … but I think you shouldn’t have trimmed the moment when Anakin’s ghost goes back from “evil” to “good”. I saw you trimmed a bit the transition and I think it would be better if those few extra seconds stayed. it was a great little moment, the facial expressions of Hayden was perfect and in my opinion, for the millennials fans it had a huge emotional impact to see how his face changes from ROTS evil Anakin to the good Anakin Skywalker again. I know it may be silly, as we talk about 5-10 seconds, but for me it was something that I spot right away, I remember it was really a big deal for me when I watched this episode 😉

This is also the only thing that immediately stood out to me (I watched this last night and forgot to comment).
