STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Adywan, I'm amazed you are working on this one frame at a time and able to get it done within a reasonable amount of time. I did the math awhile ago and I think I figured if you just spend one hour working on every frame. It would take you 20 years and that is without eating, sleeping, or shitting. So I have no idea how you're able to get this done within a reasonable amount of time.

Speaking of the END of EMPIRE, this shot always bugged me. The Falcon leaves and zips off... to where again? The galaxy is THAT way (pointing down, as they fly upwards).

Is there any way Ady could ... show the Falcon heading TOWARDS the galaxy and not into random space?

Astronomically speaking, what you're seeing in these shots is ANOTHER galaxy beyond the edge of the galaxy in which Luke and company are situated. It's like looking up and seeing the Andromeda galaxy in our own night sky -- it's not WITHIN our own Milky Way galaxy, we can just see it beyond our own cluster of stars. As such, the Falcon is not heading into nothingness; the other galaxy is not their destination.

Now, whether or not such a galaxy would look that close is another matter (something that your mockups exaggerate Vaderios). I guess considering people can hop around all over the galaxy in the Star Wars universe, it's possible that wherever the Rebel fleet is at the end of ESB just happens to be very close to said galaxy.

BTW, I personally like the idea that it could be the Rishi Maze mentioned in AOTC.

Are the pictures on the left the before and the pictures on the right the after?

Don't know if these have been discussed before but they always bothered me.

As Luke watches the Falcon blast out of the rebel base his head turns but doesn't seem to be synced with the falcon, like he's looking in the wrong direction.

that's already been fixed

So i guess if Han dies how are we gonna see the celebration scene with the Ewoks, Han ,Luke, Leia?

Again I beg and plead for a purist version if any major character bites it.

Han isn't going to die. And again i state that there will never be a purist version of ROTJ:R

No god no dont kill them. Why is it that everytime a movie full of white folks the only cool brother gotta die.

Well you win the award of making my idea of killing off Lando sound like a racist one. lol

It has been a long time since I've been here. So let me get this straight, Lando is gonna die? Please Adywan, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what? I'm going to go ahead and start stating my reasons for disliking ROTJ. This is me warming up, so rest assured I've hardly even started.

Lucas says the reason he didn't use Wookiees in ROTJ is that he wanted a technologically inferior race. That makes little sense to me. Why couldn't Chewbacca be one of the few of his race that wandered off to learn the mainstream customs? Some might argue that the race on Endor wasn't intended to have the capacity to do such, because Lucas wanted not only a technologically inferior race, but a genetically inferior race (?) which would all be speculation, and ultimately false, since we see that the Ewoks in the film are more than capable of constructing sturdy homes, weapons, traps, and at least Wicket seemed to show the potential of being a skilled speeder driver when taking into account when he hopped onto that speeder it was most definitely his first time being on one.

So what we do have is a technologically inferior race with the potential to be more. So... there goes the whole "official" reason for not having Wookiees instead of teddy bears.

I think Lucas saw that what Kershner and team had done with ESB was make it into something that more leaned toward adults. In all of his "compotent" decision making, he decided it to have the other way around... for the CLIMAX OF A GALACTIC WAR. We see one dead Ewok. The implication of more being dead is highly debatable. None of the heroes die or suffer any great loss or sacrifice. And don't try saying the death of Anakin makes up for all of that... he gets to return of a Force Ghost, which undermines the fact that when you are dead, you are dead. There is no true loss there. Also remember that he was hardly a sympathetic character until you know, the last few minutes of the film. So even if he didn't return as a Force Ghost, only an ultra-emotionally-sensitive viewer would feel any sense of "loss" at the death.

I had a feeling you were going to bitch about the ewoks. I don't see what the big deal was. Star Wars was not about realistic wars. If you want to go see an acurate portral of what war is like, go see Black Hawk Down or other movies like that. I will agree that Lucas should've given the battle of endore more credibility, but that was not the focus of the movie. Everybody whines that he should've used wookies,. but I think wookies would've been too intelligent of a race for the empire to ignore. The point of Star Wars is not to nitpick the logic of the movie. Star Wars is meant to be in its own world. I thought ROTJ was within reasonable boundaries of the Star Wars world. Now he prequels, that's a different story.

The sets in ROTJ
Time

I always thought a lot of the sets in ROTJ were inferior to ESB and ANH. Like the Emperor's Thone room, it looks like a set. Lucasfilm seemed to get a little lazy to me with ROTJ. The special effects didn't look as polished, the directing seemed a little bit clumsy, the camera work wasn't as good, regardless, I still love the movie and think it is a competent episode of the trilogy.

Well I think ALL 3 of the OOT movies are masterpeices, yes including ROTJ. I'm sick of people denouncing ROTJ like it is the OT ugly duckling. It was great. Just as good as the first two. I don't pay attention to any of the other SW stuff out there.

Hang around me for a while, then. You'll be throwing up quite often.

It was "great" to you. Which sounds ridiculous to me, since to me, it sucked.

Well ROTJ is currently #110 on the imdb top 250. So statistically many more people agree with me than with you. Why did you not like it? I don't think it was that out of line from the previous two movies like the prequels were and since I first saw it when I was twelve it was always pretty much what I expected the conclusion of the story to be like. Was it just the superficial stuff like the ewoks and Jabba or was it more like the cinematic elements like the pacing, editing, and cinematography?

Looks like the prequels are not aging well.
Time

Almost four years now since ROTS and 10 since TPM. Most people I know and talk on the internet with seem to loath them even more now. Even ones who initially liked them say they take it back and hate them now. A lot of the Lucas apalogist were trying to pull the same idea the George W. Bush apalogist were trying saying time will make the prequels look better. It ain't gonna happen.

The Prequels: I seriously cannot watch Star Wars anymore.

Last time I watched the originals straight through, I tried to watch them thinking the whole time about the connections, Hayden behind the mask, etc. etc. It didn't work. No matter how hard I tried, I could not reconcile the prequels with the originals.

Heck, this guy watched them straight through for the first time ever and couldn't do it.

I do agree that I cannot see the connection between the PT and the OT at all. I can't see Hayden behind the mask in the OT. but the thoughts of GL trying to connect them two together is what irritates me.

What, exactly, would people have wanted in the PT?

Plots that were much more in line w/ the OT, better stories, not as much of a connected universe (e.g. Chewie did not need to know Yoda, Anakin did not need to build C3PO...), things actually being explained, etc., etc., etc.

I always thought of the connected universe as one of the best parts of star wars, I mean the fate of a whole universe for 40+ years revolved around a small group of people. I just find it fascinating.

I have to agree completely. For me it was the writing, acting, and visual style that was mostly at fault in the PT.

I thought it was completely contrived and asinine to have so many of the characters from the OT connect to the PT. Chewy knows Yoda? Anakin built C3Po? Boba was a clone of his father and he was the host of the clones used to make stormtroopers?!!! Baby greedo in TPM? C3Po spent years with the Lars on Tatoonie prior to ANH?!!! It goes on and on and on...

I just watched the '04 DVD again and a thought crossed my mind!
Time

Well, besides my excruciating cringes everytime I saw cgi or the colors noticibly messed up, there has got to be at least thousands of people watching Star Wars at any one time all over the world. Most of them are probably watching the '04 version since they are the most widespread, easily accessable, and DVD is the most popular format. We need to start a commission to hunt down and destroy every copy of the '04 DVDs and replace them with Adywan's version or the GOUT or something!

I'm not saying i hated TPM btw.

and if its that bad for you, dont bother to post anymore.

While I do agree that that rcb was a numbscull for ask skyjedi to silence, who are you, TFN? You do have to admit skyjedi, it is not possible to make a film of the caliber of ANH again. That was a one in a universe event,. But yeah, TPM should've been a lot better.

These were not deliberate creative decisions these were Lazy releases with zero quality checking or control. and Like 5 re-releases later the same flaws have not been corrected. Something tells me the blu ray release when it gets released by slow poke lucas in 2014 when Blu Ray is ending its life cycle it will still have these issues glaringly unfixed. But it will probably have another sound mix in 7.1 and even more stupid cgi. But the matte lines around the tie fighters and the ruined Lowry botch job still unfixed.

I wouldn't be surprised if by 2014 George Lucas will have nipped and tucked the OT more than Joan River's plastic surgen. Who knows how messed up the OT will be by 2014? I wouldn't be surprised if by 2014 George Lucas will have incorperated Jar Jar Binks into all 3 movies of the OT. I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas replaces Alec Guiness with Ewan McGregor. I wouldnt be surprised if George Lucas Replaces Sabastian Shaw's face with Hayden Christienensen in ROTJ. I wouldn't be surprised if GL redubbes Carrie Fisher's lines about "how she remembers her mother". I wouldn't be surprised if all the special effects are redone with fake looking CGI while all the glaring technical errors are left intact.

The term is "nuke the fridge". Same meaning as "jump the shark", but for movies instead of TV shows. It will be obvious to most of you where it comes from.

When did Star Wars nuke the fridge? Ewoks? Jar Jar? Midichlorians? This forum needs the option to create a poll!

Your guy's previous forum software used to have that option. In fact, it used to have a lot more features than what your new forum software offers. Why did you guys remake the software when the old version had more features? Was there a security issue or something?
