I say a 4. While I thought he had the right look, he certainly didn't have the right lines, the right director, or the right story.
Feel free to rate other actors.
Ewan McGreggor as Obi Wan, I would say about a 7.
Again, he had the right look but the wrong everything else. His lines certainly were not as bad as Hayden's.
Actually, I don't really have a problem with any of the casting in the PT, yes, including Samuel Jackson! It was all about the script.

You cant see the endor from this angle.
Maybe not all the time, but remember, the death star was orbiting the moon, and the Death Star did not seem to rotate. So that means that sometimes it would be visable in the window. Even if that's not true, just change the geography of the shot so it is. It would look really cool if done right.
Check my previous posts that i tried to add the missing deathstar surface to these shots.
How far do I have to look back, so far I can't find them, would you mind posting them again?
Also please use the quick edit button instead of new post ;)
Sorry, it was an accident.

I tried to cut out the spaces in the window where I want Endore's horizon to appaer and then try to paste the cut out image over an image of the endore moon, but It won't work. It reads the white cut-out space as part of the image. It won't let the image overlap with the endore image bellow it. I need better software but even if I had it I would have to learn how to use photoshop.
Also, I realized that the horizon in that picture is way too high and curved. It needs to be lower in the window and less round. I forgot the proper geometry terms for this, but you know what I mean.

skyjedi2005 said:How about that Return of the Jedi came out in 1983, there is a good enough reason why Hayden does not belong in the movie. For the record imdb lists him as being born in 1981.
I was just being sarcastic, of course I hate Hayden in ROTJ.
Another thing I would like Adywan to address is the window in the Emperor's throne room. We never see Endore in his window, but based on my observation of its location of the Death Star viewed from the aerial shots, it appears that Endore should be visible in the window sometimes depending on how fast the Death Star orbits the moon. I assume that the Throne room is located right on the top of the north pole of the Death Star. I think in some scenes of the Emperor's throne room, we should see Endore in the Windows. It will make it feel more real and less like a set.
Based on this image, it looks like you should be able to see Endore in the Emperor's throne room window:
I just BS'ed some color in the window to give you an idea of what I think the perspective of what Endore in the window should look like. Hopefully you guys can do much better ;-):
A continuity error in the movie is in this scene here:
At this point in the movie, the Star Destroyes were seperated from the rebel fleet and just being used to block them in. But in this picture it appears the rebel fleet is mixed in with the Star Destroyers. This doesn't happen until after this scene.

I never understood why the change from Sebastian Shaw to Hayden was such an offensive change, it seems fine to me:

He is noticeably weak here and holding off Luke with his other hand with the saber in it. He looks like he is trying to rise to his feet but is too weak to do so under the fury of lukes angry attack.
Any way Luke is using the darkside here to over power vader.
If it was luke versus Anakin in Episode III luke would still win. I have no idea how vader won in empire strikes back if you think the anakin of the prequels is in the suit.
I mean starting with Jedi Vader became a pussy. He also gets owned by Dooku in Episode II when he was anakin and when he is vader in episode III by kenobi. He cuts obi wan down in episode IV only because ben lets him to create a distraction so our heroes can escape. He even gets owned in the force unleashed by Starkiller.
Nice pink bubblegum screen caps there by the way, lol. His saber is red in the gout. The 2004 deserves to be thrown in the trash bin. Pink Lightsaber. Hayden in the ghost scene. Jar Jar, and Jedi Rocks.
What did you do with your copy of the '04 DVDs?

I would like to get the GOUT's, but I just can't stand the fact of wasting more money on Lucas's half-assed crap.

You're way too politically minded for someone so clueless.
What about the fact that the Rebel Alliance uses a red insignia, while the Empire is blue or gray one. Might want to rethink your excitement regarding the lightsaber colors.
Yeah, but the good jedi use "blue" lightsabers, and the Sith use "red".
Ripplin said:^Vaderios almost always posts the original version on the left, and his fixed/edited version on the right.
What I meant by version was different retail versions on the market. I didn't know vaderios corrected it, I thought he just move to a frame after that one. So vaderios, are you working with Adywan on the Star Wars Revisits?

Is this a comparison between two different versions? Oh by the way, All my images will come from the '04 DVD versions unless specified.
EyeShotFirst said:It has been said before many times by me and others the ESB sabers were pretty much how a saber should look. They were perfect length and they werent thick. ROTJ the saber just looks like it would melt who ever was holding it. If noone can fix the ROTJ sabers then make it as if luke is next to a bonfire when he ignites it. I always imagined lightsabers smelling like burnt oak trees and pine needles.
I actually kind of like the changes made to the lightsabers in ROTJ. It is kind of fun to see changes made in every episode, just like Darth Vader's voice and suit. In every movie, Darth Vader's suit and voice is a little different. I think it is cool to see the change and doesn't need explaining. It's just fun to see something subtley different from the last film considering these movies take place years apart. If they all took place within the same day, I would understand the complaint of continuity issues, but they take place years apart.
skyjedi2005 said:I hate the 2004 abomination of a set its plain awful. Sith should not have pink lightsabers unless that was Lucas deliberate creative decision. And Who am i to argue with Lucas he knows the best for Star Wars right?
Red is obviously supposed to suggest Evil and Satanic. Or blood according to George.
But since its a deliberate creative decision might as well go back and make Darth Maul pink as well.
Unless Lowry admits to fucking the movies up with their auto clean up algorithm which is highly unlikely.
I like it that red was determined as the offical color that represents the Republican Party and blue represents the Democratic Party. Just like in Star Wars, good fighting against evil.
skyjedi2005 said:Not sure either it think it was 1993 arista records boxset called anthology. Note even empire strikes back on that set has reversed sound channels. But good musician and others have found ways to fix this i think.
I have all the sets and its the only way to have all the music unfortunetely. Good thing someone on these boards did his best to fix jedi but as the tracks from the special edition have the flaws in the source there is little that can be done to fix it. The sounds been squished do to too much pre-mastering.
The tracks on the fan release from the anthology even on my cheap set up are easy to tell the difference from the SE.
ABC's set he made is from both the anthology and the special edition.
I myself am going to make my own CD compilation Strictly from the original cd release. And the arista anthology. Too bad my boxset is scratched to hell ive had it since 1993 and they have probably been played at least a hundred times. Had i known back then i would have bought another sealed copy. OUT of Print and no longer available according to Amazon. Too bad i was going to buy one.
You would think digital noise reduction and hiss removal is a good thing right? The special edition version sounds clean but is muffled sounding, the arista has analogue noise. Guess what i prefer somes pops and tape hiss over the music being overly compressed and muddy sounding. The fact that this passed QC is a joke.
Can Lucasfilm make anything right these days?
I posted this in the ROTJ Wishlist forum too:
At the end of the fight, Vader just falls down and grabs on to the railing for no apparent reason. Perhaps Adywan could CGI in Luke's leg kicking him down or something?
I really hope Adywan does something about this. I know it is something that crosses everyone's mind when they watch this.
I learned something new while playing around with ROTJ:
Adywan, another thing that always bugged me was this:
In this shot it looks like Luke's saber hits Vader's hand.
Is there some way you could fix this?
Adywan, when you get to ROTJ, could you do anything about this scene?

R2 is a robot who shot it right at Luke for the purpose of catching it. Vader is a powerful Sith Lord who threw a lit lightsaber at Luke with the express purpose of Luke NOT catching it (unless being sliced counts as catching).
Why didn't Vader just use the force to break the balcony/suspended platform. If he can use the force to choke someone, why not use it to break a metal beam apart. Why risk losing his saber?
TheBoost said:Janskeet said:Another thing about that scene that always bugged with was this:
Vader throws his lightsaber at Luke and he easily could've used the force to catch it, why the hell didn't he? It was another moment where Lucas can't think of anything good so he simply does it because the plot says so.
Maybe when one Jedi throws a lightsaber guided by the force, it's hard to catch.
Obviously Luke could not easily have caught it. Or else he would have.
It's silly to make up a rule (ex: "Luke should have caught the lightsaber with the Force") for an almost completely undefinded fictional magic system, and then point to the single piece of evidence that the rule was based on (the one instance of lightsaber tossing in ROTJ) which could have just as easily (and perhaps more reasonably) been interpreted the exact opposite way.
In ROTJ we see Luke catch the lightsaber right after avoiding the the fall into the sarlac pit. All R2D2 did was shoot the lightsaber up in the air and Luke was able to grab it from there. Vader's saber comes like a foot within retreival.
