Do you think George Lucas will correct the colors for the blu-ray release?
Time

I don't think he will, because I think the color changes were deliberate and even if they were a mistake, George Lucas has too big of an ego to admit he made mistakes and own up to them. I know the '04 DVD was a rushed release, but come on, how shitty can you get? It's obvious at the last minuet, GL decided to have the set come out in '04 instead of '05. It made a lot of sense to have them come out in '04 instead of '05. That meant more ticket sales for ROTS. He compromised quality for $ and for the greatest movies ever made that is unacceptable. I doubt he'll even bother correcting any of the continuity errors for the blu-ray release.

What DVD software do you guys use? I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and it doesn't remove the black bars along the bottom and the top when you capture a frame. Do you guys manually cut the black bars out of the frame or do you use a software that automatically removes them when you capture a frame?

I don't know if this is correct, I don't have the GOUT and I have fullscreen VHS tapes. But from my memory, the scene where we see the Executioner moving out of the asteroid field, they show it physically moving out of the asteroid field in the '97 and '04 version. To my memory, in the original version, they show the ship moving through the asteroid field without sight of the end of the asteroid field present. I prefer that version better. Someone with the GOUT, could you post an image of that scene from the GOUT please? My VHS tapes are fullscreen so it is hard for me to tell whether they show the end ofthe asteriod field or not.

I really don't see whats wrong with the Millenium Falcon/Tie Fighters in the asteriod/canyon chase. It looks fine to me. I don't see why adywan is going through the hassel of recreating the asteriod/canyon chase with models, I don't see what's in dire need of fixing?

On a scale of 1-10, how convincing was Hayden as Anakin/Darth Vader?

I said it was George Lucas who was the problem, not Hayden.

Ewan McGreggor, even with George Lucas badness was the only actor who able to act well.

Christopher Lee was good too.

Portman was worst then Hayden.

Samuel Jackson was just Samuel Jackson as Mace Windu and did not act.

McGreggor: 8

Lee: 7

Hayden: 3

Jackson: 1

Portman: 0

Lucas: 0-

I thought Christopher Lee was terrible and a complete waste of time. The only reason why he was in there was because George Lucas wanted an old guy named "Count Dooku" and that was it.

The more I watch the SEs the more I like the GOUT better. Of course, I would prefer it in better quality, but I'm starting to like SW just the way it was back when it first came out in theaters. All the changes are obvious modern changes. I like SW to feel like it was made in the late '70s early '80s.

If you could interview George Lucas, what would you say?

And no, the Leia/Luke thing did NOT tie the movie up nicely.  It was a bad decision that ruined the franchise.  Why?  Because it made NO SENSE at all!

I think the idea was the force brought them together. I know it is blantantly obvious it was thrown in at the last minuet, but I think it kind of works. It really was the only way to answer the "that boy is our last hope" "no there is another" without having to take a detour in the story to explain that. If you want to edit that out of ROTJ, you should remove Yoda's mentioning of "there is another" in ESB and also remove any mentioning of that in ROTJ. But then you have a pacing problem. Now Luke and Ben's conversation sounds too brief and Yoda's last words will have to be cut.  If you change this last hope to another jedi hiding somewhere in the galaxy, it is going to be kind of odd to mention him/her and never have the story elaborate on that.

If I had an interview with George, I'd avoid Star Wars all together, and try to see what I could get out of him regarding his artsy films and why he has never gotten around to them.

Maybe because he has no plans to do them and just says that to make people think he's better for more than just special effects garbage.

This looks much better. The Emperor in the '04 version looks exactly like the ROTS Emperor. I never understood if the Emperor was cloaking his true identity through the force or if the force lightning really did make him look old and wrinkly?
