VLC media player is not working for me. It won't play DVDs or video files. Does it have any features that can't be found on Power DVD 8 and other DVD players? Does VLC need a 3rd party DVD decoder?

Adywan, what was the reason for changing the dialog in the scene?

Was it lip syncing not in continuity?

I never liked this scene, how it abruptly cuts from Luke & Ben sitting at the table, then when comes back to the table, they're gone. It doesn't show any exhibition of them leaving the table.

I never noticed that giant mouse creature sitting by the table until now. It looks so forlorn, I feel sorry for it.

There are obviously some easter eggs in the DVD. Not all the videos are showing up in the DVD menus. Like the "Alternate Concept Scene: Escaping the Death Star" and "Jar Jar was here."

What changes/additions were made between the DVD-5 and DVD-9 versions?

He did change that scene to make the view of the canyon look more like it did in AOTC.  The YouTube video frame that you have here is mostly likey from my account.  I uploaded the whole movie, but I didn't download the DVD-9 version.

 

That frame is from the DVD-9 version. At least the DVD-9 version from Link Talk. So is that modified horizon from the DVD-5 version?

Tell me, which one do you like better?

Of course, the resolution on the top one is a lot better than what you see there. I copied it from youtube.

Adywan, did you make multiple menu styples for this like the '04 DVDs? Or is it just this one:

And I don't recall that R2 shot ever being replaced.  Besides, the DVD-9 is the final version, and Ady himself has stated there will be no further changes to ANH.  On top of that, he's lost the original files, so the DVD-9 that you now have is the best ANH:R will ever look (which is pretty fantastic in my opinion).

I like this image much better. I was really disappointed when I didn't see this replaced with the original shot. Why didn't you use it Adywan?

Adywan, there is one continuity error you forgot... well, one that wasn't addressed that I know of anyways. In this scene here:

It shows the death star moving much faster than what the actual rate is for 30 minuets.

Actually I opened the first VIDEO_TS file with Power DVD 8 and it started working.

There's nothing in the Audio_TS folder. That can't be right?

I don't have a dual layer DVD with me right now. How do I convert it to work on PowerDVD 8?

I wish I could show you an image of what I have, but I only know windows vista has that capability. I found this SetupImgBurn_2 file, I selected that and now that is being extracted. I guess I'm just gonna have to play around with it until I figure it out. Yes I download all 80 files. 

Okay I downloaded all of the files again and have extracted all of them with Winrar. I don't get it. Where is the ISO file? Nothing has changed since I extracted it. ALll that it did was show some DVD covers.

The download didn't work. Some of the files were corrupt. In the middle of my download trying it a second time. It was downloading at a steady 1.5 MB/sec and then suddently it dropped to dial-up speeds. I don't know if it was my ISP or Rapidshare. I bought the $6.99 one month deal. I don't know what the rules are with that, but that pissed me off.

Moderators, don't know where this should go, no forum sees to fit this question. This one seems to be the closest. Would you be willing to disclose with me why ocpmovie got banned? 

I hope my antivirus software doesn't screw this up. I suppose I should've turned it off before starting the download.

It looks like flashget likes to download 3 at a time. There was a thread option, you could choose between 1-10 threads. I just left it at the default of 5. I don't know what that means.

Buy a short-term Rapidshare subscription, and download 5-10 parts at a time.  That's how I do it when I use Rapidshare (very rarely, though).

All you need to do is download all the RAR parts.  Then, once you have ALL of them, put them ALL in the same folder, and open the VERY FIRST ONE (part.01.rar or whatever it is) with WinRAR or UnRarX if you're a Mac guy like me.  It'll automatically un-rar all of them into one nice, neat ISO for you.

Then you burn the ISO to a dual-layer DVD using ImgBurn (or Toast/Disk Utility/something of the sort for Mac), and you're good to go :-)

Can I just watch it directly on my PC? I don't have any dual layer DVDs right now?
