Adywan, you are a STAR!

"Jambe, could you open your original VTS_01_0.IFO in IFOEdit ( feely available on the net) and could you tell me what your original files are reporting for the layer break. Might help to see if burning to a DL-R is adding the extra layer break "

I just ran 'mydvdedit' a mac version of IFOEdit and it definitely has the layer change as 'seamless' which certainly didn't ask DVDSP to do.

Interesting. I hope the fix works for all of you. Maybe DarthSolo could edit the info on the torrent page to link to the fix?

Thanks for all the praise, I really appreciate it!

Ok the layer break (the one I set in DVD Studio Pro) is at Chapter 22. There can only be only layer break in the disc so I am not sure what else you guys are seeing. Weird.

Ah.... I may have found the problem!

" Finally, the break point, when using -R media, will be defined as Seamless which may cause incompatibilities with some set top players. Using +R media generally provides more compatible output."

I think the copy I sent to Darth Solo was DVD-R DL media!! Actually maybe it was +. Oh dear I can't remember.

I am burning a DVD+R DL disc as we speak. I will test it on a number of players and get back to you.

BUGGER! As I said, I didn't have this problem in any of my players.

It's definately something to do with the layer transition though. I will look into it and get back to you all. I know that some of the earlier players had problems with blank DL media at the layer change. How old are your players?

Another thing that might be a factor is that I only tested this with DVD-R Dual layer media and have not had this problem. What media are you all using?

As for the typo, it was on my snag list before I finished. I obviously just missed it. There is also another little error just as 3PO is jumping off the barge. The black slug behind the sub disappears for a second or two. But lets not forget the rest of the disc - it's bloody great!

I really wanted to put this thing to bed!

That is probably one of the Omnibus programmes that Babyhum has already released.

Anybody got this doco? It was aired on the BBC in the UK on 18th July 1999. I forgot to record it at the time and never saw it repeated again.

‘Hollywood’s Master Of Myth: Joseph Campbell, The Force Behind Star Wars’

BBC documentary that attempts to delve beyond the hype of “The Phantom Menace” (it was screened the month the movie opened in Britain) by focusing on the writer who was often credited as a huge influence on George Lucas, and most “heroic” literature.
