//RETURNING TO JEDI\\: NTSC & PAL DVD
Time
Ok folks. I am currently transcoding the almighty new "Returning to Jedi: Miami Underground Film Festival Edition".

Not much has changed, just a few tweaks and additions here and there, including:

- Shots of Boba Fett stuntman preparing the the Barge Battle.
- More shots of the man-in-a-suit Rancor that have come to light.
- The addition of some stills.
- General Grammar and spelling.
- The timing of some subtitles and shots.

All I need to figure out now is how to transcode this PAL DVD to NTSC. Is there anyone out there willing to help? Moth3r?

Cheers

Just got in from work and have read all your posts.

The missing bits come from Entertainment tonight as shown on the Paramount Comedy channel show in 1997. They ran pretty much the entire scene under the closing credits. Amazing to think that this is the only place the whole scene has been shown.

I am not sure where Scott got it from but he deserves BIG praise for unearthing it.

Unfortunately Declan is slightly covered by some of the graphics/credits. Additionally some of the widescreen elements that could be integrated from the 2004 release don't fill the breach.

I have spent about 5 hours trying to do the best I can with what I've got and it's not too bad. I need to colour correct the whole scene now which is no mean feat given that the sequence comes from about 10 different sources!

I haven't looked at the 97 release yet to see if that offers up some more of the original shot. My initial thought is that the 97 Jabba may cover less of the background than the 04 Jabba does. In actual fact I don't have the 97 release of ANH anywhere.

As for what Declan says - watch this space...

This is a new find! My friend has not be holding out at all. The guy who he got it off obviously didn't realise what he had.

There are of course some drawbacks. It's 4:3 and there are some graphics/credits covering part of the frame, but the important thing is that we have the complete scene with clean audio.

Jambe,

I know you are busy revising "Building Empire" and "Returning to Jedi" for that film festival. However, I just wanted to let you know something. The "Star Wars Vault" package that is being released on October 30th is in-stock here in Australia at the bookstore where my girlfriend works. That is the item talked about here, posted about on SW.com here and listed on Amazon, here.

She's talking about getting it for me for Christmas... I'm trying to talk her into buying it now. In any case, it sounds like it'll be useful for your project.

Thanks mate. I will look out for it.
