 This is something that has always bothered me as well

It's never bothered me....Han is an experienced gambler, he doesn't disclose how he knows whats in the next crater.....he was most likely using the information that the Falcons sensor arrays were displaying.....he plays it cool

I don't profess to be an expert on the daft explanations that Lucas gave in the prequels, but he did give us a reason why Vader, Ben & Yoda, ended up force ghosts.

Palps told Anakin that he had teachings by his old master Darth Plagueis on how to never die with the knowledge of the force, and that he would pass this knowledge on to Anakin if he were to become his Sith apprentice.

This knowledge had a flaw, the power to move on to this afterlife can only be successful if you are pure in soul.....so therefore will be of no benefit to a Sith, only for a Jedi.

So by the time Vader snuffed it, he'd redeemed himself and was pure in soul, so all the teachings of Palps enabled him to become a force ghost.

Ben and Yoda were tought this technique by Qui-Gon who had successfully returned from his spell of being completely dead, i assume his refined teachings also enabled his pupils to vanish when killed.

It does sound like the frame rate information is wrong and its firing in duplicate frames.....it sees it as 25fps but its not....dunno, how many times does it do this duplication in a second?

I do agree with nightstalkerpoet about the need for LFL to update the original films, but to put all their effort into it, Lucas has tinkered with his original Star Wars the most which shows that the movie most of us love the most is probably the movie he's most unhappy with, if he's gonna fix it....then fix it....go beyond what Ady has done, fix all publicised errors, if he is gonna place rocks in front of R2's hiding place, then show them in the next scene, not create new continuity errors....if he wants the X-wings updated to CG then go the full hog and change all of them with their own markings not all clones of Red 2.

I naturally would prefer to see the movie as I originally saw it back in 77, where its groundbreaking special effects and sound design fledged the way for blockbusters as we know them now, but that movie now on BD has now been erased, watered down to a weaker version of what we loved, if LFL were to resurrect that movie by updating it, they need to really treat it as a new project....new scan from the original negatives, forget about stupid bRontos, Greedo shooting first etc.

The effects these guys are capable of, but they seem just to tart this film up every few years like giving your house a lick of paint, eventually you need to strip it right back and start again.

If this is what he has planned for the 3D release i'd be amazed.....and while he's at it he can give us a decent BD of the OUT....think of the money he'd make

Just had a thought, at the end of Jedi (the SE versions) there are scenes of worlds celebrating the defeat of the Emperor, including Tatooine......

Looking good Harmy....on another note has anyone noticed that Luke's face looks a bit lobster looking in that scene he jumps out of the speeder but when he turns his head to speak to Ben his colour tone changes....and so does the wall behind him.....its not just your clip Harmy,....it does this on all Ive checked (dunno about GOUT)

As I tell my kids hate is a very strong word, i didn't say i hate the prequels in fact i don't rate them at all.

The idea of the Death Star in orbit around Coruscant is a good idea and i'm sure someone will include the scene in an edit, but I don't think it fits into the narrative of the story, I like it to remain hidden.
