STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I'd honestly prefer that the reveal of the Executor played out with the shadow over the Star Destroyer,.....this is the first time we get a close-up of a Star Destroyer tower or the spheres, the way the tower is revealed in that shot replicates the reveal of the first time we se a Star Destroyer in ANH, the highly detailed surface moving above us.....to reveal....wow.....thats just the tower, that thing is huge.....then we get the shadow being cast on what we thought was impressive, the Executor dwarfs the now tiny Star Destroyer

Don't know why the tower was blue, but it makes no sense to reveal the Executor first before the shadow

The only thing that I notice now is Han surveys the droid over the cleaned up hill, shot of the droid with a hill in the foreground...after the droid shoots at Chewie Han enters the scene & takes cover behind hill....after shooting at the droid the face on shot of Han shows that he is taking cover at the same hill he surveyed at in the opening scene

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**

To be honest, I'd be glad if Wedge was not a Jedi. I'm tired of lightsabers, robes and the Force (yes, I know I'm a minority), and of the things the PT desperately lacked was central (or even good supporting) characters who were not Jedi or Sith.

We do not need another such trilogy...

Also, pilots are way cooler than Jedi. Proof?

Han Solo and Wedge Antilles.

;)

I totally agree.....the Jedi & the force are an essential ingredient in the SW movies, but the normal non-force users were the fun part

Apparently this (From another public info film) is from 1976, a year before Star Wars... (Click to play YouTube clip)

...So the prequels were almost right. Vader did build one of the Droids but it was actually R2!

!Bombshell!

(btw Getting waaaay off topic here lol)

It's funny that RMQ's designs of R2 had that spinning thing on his head too:

This early one......they didn't use his voice

J

But getting back to the original subject.....there was quite a lot of droid activity in that room that 3PO went into, maybe it was a droid toilet, maybe the voice was George Michael

What actor/actress would you like to see in new Star Wars Movies?

Bingowings said:

Saoirse Ronan would make an interesting female protagonist.

Ryan McAvoy said:

Saoirse Ronan is a great actress, she could be one of the Skywalker/Solo/Organa kids. She kicked ass in 2011's 'Hanna'.

I made a mock-up of how it might look...

Thanks guys,

Ryan....yep thats the Stap, I got that model cheap in a sale, had no intention to build the kit with the Droid on it, perhaps scratching a rifle like you said you'd done, but its still in a box somewhere......the Stap on the other hand was the part that I thought I'd throw out, but I've managed to salvage the majority of it for other projects, it has been more useful.

Hey, it's me....The Star Destroyer/Falcon has been shelved for a while, my tastes & experience have changed. I do have other ideas for this ship.....but it still will be pointy, maybe with a central cockpit, like the Star Destroyer......hmmm

Nice work so far TK-949, and I hit the 'like' button

Where were you in '83? ROTJ 30th anniversary 5/25/83-5/25/13
Time

Ahhhh, 1983......I was 15.....I remember queuing outside down the side of the cinema with my mates & wee bro to see ROTJ in '83.......

ABC Cinema in Belfast:

Which is now Jury's Hotel :(

Across the road from it was the NEW VIC:

Which is now an extension of the Grand Opera House & The FitzWilliam Hotel

I remember at each screening Darth Vader made a public appearance, the suit looked authentic & whoever was inside was the right height, in other words it didn't look fake

I remember the ticket booth sold memorabilia, the ROTJ storybook & Official Collectors Book were there......over at the sweet counter, they sold other things, posters etc.......why do cinemas nowadays not cash into these sort of things....well not in Northern Ireland anyway.

Yes I'd love to recreate the hanger shot Ryan, & maybe a Ps image of it from above with the stormies around it......hmmm

I have a bit of a thing about the Millennium Falcon.....I've got a few Falcon projects going on at the minute......the main one is the MPC/Ertl kit....I took a break from that kit in March to work on the Revell RMQ Falcon (Scale Model Addict Big Spring Contest, which ran for 3 months...was supposed to finish on Friday night but has been extended by a week)

I have been working on the MPC/Ertl kit since Feb 2012, it is based on the 5 foot filming model from Star Wars (ANH)

Heres roughly where I was when I took a break:

The thread here:

A couple of videos of it:

Vid 1

Vid 2 Engine Lights

I've also got the FineMolds 1/72 which I've hacked off the Mandibles to correct a flaw in FineMolds measurements....

The mandibles now have a slight toe-in

Another wee project is with another Revel easy kit

Sort of mashing the Falcon design with Star Destroyer/AOTC Jedi Starfighter:

.......enough of this Falcon fetish

Hayden is an actor, that is all. The others, Portman, Mcgregor, Neeson are 'good' actors. Jackson is a 'great' actor. Much the same as Pacino, De Niro and Nicholson are 'great' actors. The only other 'great' actors to have ever been in Star Wars are *Mcguiness and Mcdairmid. That word is banded about too often are far as actors are concerned nowadays with no real substance that it is a deserved description.

Don't forget the other famous Mc

Star Wars prequels were mapped out in 1981, only nothing like the way they turned out

I like that you made the comparison to Harry Potter, Bingowings. I actually think comparing it to wizards in Harry Potter perfectly explains it. Magic is passed down as a hereditary thing, but there are also the muggle-borns who can use magic, but have no magical bloodline. That's the way it is, but it's never explained in any more detail than that, and doesn't have to be. I think the same kind of principles could be applied to force-users in Star Wars. I would make some variations on it though. Basically, here's how I see it: Some individuals are born with a higher potential to manipulate the force. This cannot be measured by any scientific means, but can be sensed by those whose minds are in tune with the force, however, anybody has the ability to manipulate the force with training, some are just born stronger with the force than others, thus have an easier time learning and are more likely to be more powerful. This natural strength with the force is passed down through generations. Ben's line "I was amazed how strongly the force was with him." perfectly fits in with this ideology. The Skywalkers simply have a very high natural connection with the force.

The same could be said about any skills that people have, would it be a surprise that David Beckham's son had football skills etc
