I used to call it Jedi. But since Last Jedi also has Jedi in the title i call it ROTJ.

Luke as a Jedi Master teaching a new generation of Jedi restoring the order. Leia as Chancellor of the New Republic, Han Solo as a leader in the New Republic Navy.

The rest of the plot didn’t need to follow the EU generally.

There is plenty of room to make up a story around the OT heroes without erasing their accomplishments and making them worthless. Luke doesn’t need to be a superhero just to be Luke and a wise teacher, kind and generous.

Write the story around the original actors so the new protagonists fit the established world Lucas created. At least they should have prominent supporting roles. Not one off cameos for shock value in killing them off. They don’t all have to survive the trilogy but there had to be a better way of passing the torch without killing the past.

There are some things i like in Episode II but they are few. Before Rise of Skywalker it literally was the worst film in the Saga. Some things Lucas implies or he just cut out of the film entirely but he left in those really bad romance scenes. Why didn’t he have that awful dialog rewritten like on the OT. That was something Kasdan and Huyck and Katz excelled at. I’m of the opinion Anakin isn’t supposed to be smooth like Han, but he is awkward. So it sort of works but it also is difficult to listen to. Especially considering this is Vader. But it kind of is reminiscent of whiny Luke. And we know Kylo whined too.

I have given up on Picard season 3. More Dark Dystopian Trek fanfiction. I’d watch a 4th JJ film but other than Strange New Worlds potential i’m done with Kurtzman Trek. I kept hoping Disco would get better the writing never improved. I adore the cast and i’m disappointed in its cancellation. Everything they did right was the more complained about aspects of the diverse cast and how progressive it was.

I’m enjoying the Quantum Leap sequel but it isn’t nearly as good or novel as the original. Doesn’t have the music or catchphrase. The background characters are better than the main though. The ones who work behind the time travel. But i can see it not making it past the first season.

I actually wanted a post Rise of Skywalker Rey movie. If that was what was cancelled i’m sort of upset but i’ll get over it. Future movies have potential even if ROS disappointed a lot of people.

They leave a lot of money on the table with pirated DVD and Blu-Ray in general. Including the Original Theatrical Star Wars trilogy they don’t care. The bootleg of season 7 for clone wars for example from Malaysia has made the pirates a lot because Disney wants people to subscribe to a monthly service. I’m sure The Mando fanedits being sold is bad too. I mean at least the 4K77 and 4K83 stuff seems to have been pulled off Ebay.

Yeah they cancelled it a second time, i have very big doubts it ever comes back off the shelf.

It is DOA like the Feige thing. And the Rian Johnson films.

But apparently the Waititi project will get made.

I read on variety they cancelled Rogue Squadron again, but they are saying shelved. Yeah sure shelved. I’m sure it will happen just like those Rian Johnson movies. That Kevin Feige thing is also cancelled. Shelved,lol. Who are they kidding. They are never happening.

I’d love to see this as a movie. It is a real shame the Disney/Lucas executives thought it was a risk and brought in JJ for the sure thing, a safe on the rails final chapter. Now i know a lot of people worked hard on that movie so i’ll hold my tongue.

And yet the 1997 prints had very good color, despite the awful new inserts and cgi. Why didn’t they just put those on Blu-Ray/4K. With the originals of course.

I like the Japanese Cover Art for New Jedi order but not the novels themselves.

Yeah that is the one. But it doesn’t have from Star Wars to Jedi which is in the Collectors CLV set instead.

The second release is the one to get if you want the making of trilogy, but it also goes for a lot more whenever it shows up in auctions or for sale.

i’m actually getting the making of separate. I’ve got making of Empire without OBI. Good squid has making of ROTJ for 30 bucks, i’ll just need making of Star Wars.

I hate the reboot of the EU, no not the Disney one but i do hate that. I hate The New Jedi order. I hate how grimdark it is, i hate how it tries to make Star Wars science fiction instead of space fantasy/adventure. They could have gone in any direction after the Zahn duology and the move from Bantam to Del Rey, but instead we got garbage.

Not pan and scan but HBO or Cinemax may have shown the 2004 cut in HD in 16:9. I saw ROTJ on TNT once it was crap, zoomed in. I was like why? I do remember the picture being better and sharper than the 2011 blu.

The Star Trek TNG films in 4K will have the same 7.1 audio as the 2009 Blu-Ray discs.

Not sure how original that is or not. Once again there is no Stereo 2.0 Dolby or DTS mix.

But i have my 2 Disc DVD releases of the TNG films and my Laserdiscs of Generations, First Contact, and Insurrection for the original audio. Its not HD but what can you do.

I like The Thrawn trilogy and Duology the most, the rest of his EU stuff is okay if you forget the prequelisms. The Disney stuff is solid writing but boring as hell without a Luke Skywalker, or Mara Jade.

The original arc of the trilogy and duology are almost perfect. Except for the invaders hinted at beyond the galaxies that turned out to be the Vong. Hated Thrawn and Palpatine being turned into the good guys. Hated Mara saying she didn’t believe the emperor reborn was Palpatine, that was Zahn taking a shot of Veitch.

Don’t care for in the trilogy how it is described Palpatine used the force to give strength to the Imperial Navy and after his death how they were routed. Too lord of the rings and Sauron.

The VHS Faces Cassettes, yeah all i could afford was the pan and scan not the more ritzy widescreen boxed set. And i had the earlier non THX Star Wars set, which i preferred to watch Star Wars on because the 1995 release had the smashing glass in the detention block which i never liked. The one i watched the most on tv and on tape was the 85 sound mix.

I didn’t get a laserdisc player or the definitive collection til around 2005. About ten years too late for it to mean anything but by that time they were cheap enough. Then i got some of the fan made DVDs and the rest is history. All the way up to the release of the GOUT DVD’s and 4K77 hitting the net. Buying the awful Disney 2020 4K Special Edition watching it once and putting it on the shelf.

He had a lot more legends stories planned as well. More Thrawn, Mara and Talon Karrde. But of course Disney had the EU shelved and rebooted. And his new stuff is tailored to the Disney verse. Boring and uninteresting and political. Chiss politics. Imperial politics. Couldn’t finish Thrawn Treason. Don’t care for Disney Thrawn either. Not in Rebels, Not in the novels. Don’t care if he is in live action. He was slightly less unbearable in that comic Marvel made. Only because of its brevity.

The Nolan Batman trilogy is overrated. And Batman 89 and Batman Returns are underrated. I used to believe the opposite but Batman begins hasn’t aged all that well IMHO. Nor has Rises. I will say i still view Dark Knight as almost flawless except for Aaron Eckhart’s Two Face. Bale is just okay in it, Ledger plays Joker to the hilt.

I already got the last go round of 4Ks on sale for cheap. No OOT is a nope.
