How come mace windu isn’t with the other Jedi in the celebration?

IMO I’m pretty disappointed that all the memorable characters from the prequels didn’t get a cameo in the updated Mos Eisley

All the memorable PT characters got cameos during the opening flyover shot of ANH.

Then where’s Zam Wesell and Chancellor Valorum?

IMO I’m pretty disappointed that all the memorable characters from the prequels didn’t get a cameo in the updated Mos Eisley intro like Wado. Also, where was Dexter Jetster’s space Denny’s in Return of the Jedi’s end celebration scene? This is a glaring continuity error. Oh well, at least with Disney at the helm, we’ll get a new anthology film every year so we can get an overly elaborate back-story on every side character.

How did they manage to screw up this wonderful color for the Blu-ray?!

I agree, but the colors still seem a bit on the washed out side, with some weird green and blue hues, but this is miles ahead of the blu-ray, and don’t even get me started on the DVD. Over-saturated colors, ugly pink/purple hues everywhere on the level of the teals/greens in the Blade Runner Final Cut bad, skin tones that look like decades old taffy, crushed blacks and de-noising that removes detail, etc. Aside from the odd few hues and the slightly washed out colors I always thought the '97 version was a pretty nice restoration (with the exception of the changes of course).

At this point, I’m surprised nvjc and Harmy haven’t just removed these entirely.

And what would this accomplish, exactly? Despecialized is widely available from many places, and this would just make it so that profiteering jerks would be the only game in town.

Well for one, it would make the community go full vigilante justice on these motherfuckers. Sure they might get twice the sales for a while, but for every sale there would be 2 people every day saying something to the effect of “It really kills me that these were free online for everybody until assholes like you started selling these.” You think the constant spam wouldn’t at least get under these people’s skin even a little? I think a large part of the reason there isn’t big community outrage is that people are in the mindset that those sets on ebay and elsewhere are small scale, and aren’t getting the sales they are.

If you have donated and would like to see reel6, please bounce me a PM.
I am using Resilio Sync, you can download it here:
https://www.resilio.com/individuals/
Be aware that the smallest files will be 4GB, and also that others in the group will be able to see whatever name you choose on Resilio Sync, and possibly also your device/computer name.

Sorry in advance if my computer name is a racial slur for wookies, I don’t mean to offend. I’m just in it for the memes boiz. Again, sorry to any Walking Carpets or Fuzballs out there.

Thanks,
Quite a few pledges haven’t come in yet, I’m currently going through and inspecting each reel and checking for any damage etc.
The ANH print is headed off for cleaning and will hopefully start scanning next week.
I’d like to get TPM print off for cleaning not long after.

Yeah I was just telling RU.08 that I won’t be able to make good on it until about a week from now. Based off of those few frames, the print looks to be in decent shape. If the rest of the print looks like that and just has a “cigarette burn” or two It would be a miracle. The colours look pretty good too.

Does anyone here know why njvc’s Blu-ray files have been posted to MySpleen? I mean it sounds like a total pain in the butt in even trying to access the site, especially with all of the people coming here and asking for invites. Wouldn’t it be simpler if the files were uploaded to a more public site where everything isn’t invite only?

it would be easier.
if you read a few pages back (maybe more), njvc pulled his publicly posted files after all the crap that was being sold on ebay etc. I don’t envy him, feeling like your work work has turned into something that could get the wrong kind of attention is not a fun feeling.

I know the seller who has the 200$+ set and the set of the Grindhouse editions is on the spleen. I got into a PM altercation with him on ebay. I said something to the effect of “it’s sickening that you willingly exploit others works for profit, also exploiting desperate fans” and he said “It’s not my fault you’re too incompetent to receive a myspleen invite (insert racial slur)”. The spleen has been infiltrated.

JEDIT: (small part I forgot to add) This is why I find it a little unfair that they aren’t publicly available. Now I do believe NVJC has all the right in the world to pull them down because of the massive influx of people selling his work, and by no means is this a dig at NVJC, his work on this set is incredible. But I do feel like it is a little unfair to newcomers.

P.S.- Thank again to Harmy for making these edits, to towne for the colour correction, to NVJC for this kickass set, and the cat who sent me a spleen invite before invites were closed (you know who you are).

While we need to do a better job at directing new members towards important information
Any solution not involving money would be quite a hassle, and the best thing I can think of is a system wherein the party requesting the blu-ray would be required to purchase their own blank blu-ray discs and send them in a package containing their copy of the relevant 2011 Blu-ray discs (as proof of purchase) and enough postage for sending it all back.

I fall into that category. Been a member here for years. I have the files. I do not yet have access to a Blu-ray writer. So, I would be very happy to purchase blank discs with that intention. Having read all the hard work and dedication that went into making these things, I won’t purchase online so some Greedo makes a profit off the work done by members of these forums. Being patient till I get the opportunity to make my own or at least not so as someone else profits from it. Great discussion in this thread.

I was in the same boat as you until I sat down on one of my days off and played around with TUIG until I finally figured out how to download the multi-part rar files. The day I finally figured out how to download the files, I went to bestbuy that very same afternoon and purchased a blu-ray burner and a spool of 25 discs. That ran me up just shy of 120USD! But good god, talk about money well spent. With all of the extra discs I just burnt up copies for friends, family, co-workers etc.

If I had the time this is what I would do… Make an inventory of about 20 box sets (just BD’s if thats all they are selling, the actual boxes and art if they go that far).

In the comments post a url to FREE versions and offer to mail the prospective buyer a copy (assuming they own the content).

Or just list them for free. Can you do that? I haven’t been on fleaBay in quite a while.

Yeah for a while in the questions I was posting links to the TUIG and saying things like “you know this content is free elsewhere on the internet right?”. Now he removed questions from his listings. If I had the time and resources I’d list custom box sets for just the bare cost of printer ink, discs, cases and shipping. But then how do you verify that people have the official source material?

I used to go crazy when I saw Darkside Dealers pimping my DVD’s and the covers I created on eBay but after a while I realized I could not let it upset me. Someone somewhere will always take advantage of others works.

Sure they may profit from our creations against our wishes but at least they are out there being watched, loved and are a cherished illicit collectable in a fans collection.

Word to the Spookies.

Yeah I hear you dude, at least comic shops that I’ve seen sell them only sell them for 10-15$ a piece. But this cat’s making like 4k a month doing this. He’s paying his rent with this stuff!

Highest quality version of 1997 Special Editions? Is there a DVD release?
Time

Right before Adywan’s Empire Strikes Back Revisited dropped he released a 1080p version of the '97 SE for Empire. It’s an mkv and it isn’t cropped for blu-ray, so you’d have to re-crop it yourself. I got it and converted the file using tsmuxer and burned it to a disc. It played fine but it wasn’t letterboxed, the picture stretched all across the screen where the black bars would be. I found a guide to help rectify the issue but I haven’t gotten around to it myself.

Guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/376335-Tsmuxer-Newb-mkv-to-blu-ray-disc

For Return of the Jedi I just used a LD rip, slightly saturated the colors and added a slight amount of contrast and the DVD turned out great. Good luck!

Is Disney Physically Allowed To Release The OUT?

TV’s Frink said:

I can’t wait to see how they physically release the digital version.

I can’t imagine when 2020 comes around and Disney gets the distribution rights for 1-3, 5 and 6 that there wouldn’t be a deal struck to have Star Wars/ANH in the set. But they didn’t with the digital versions so who knows? I can’t imagine they would let the movie go out of print, It’s Star Wars.
