Info Wanted: Digitally Remastered Original Trilogy preservation set?!?! (on ebay)
Time

Some guy on Ebay is trying to pass off a set that is Digitally Remastered with 5.1 Sound. I wasn’t aware of any set like that. Here’s the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6400411497&rd=1

And he says there on Dual Layered DVDs. It sounds like someone just edited the Dr Gonzo set and put the extras specific to each movie on their own discs.

Info: Would it Be Good? An Official Release of the unaltered Original Trilogy on DVD?
Time

I’m not even sure I would want a Offical Release of the Original Trilogy on DVD. Before you blast me, let me explain. When I pop in my Dr. Gonzo set, the picture quality and audio quality are what they would be if they were released in the 80’s. That in itself brings back childhood memories. If you take the New DVD set, with the better picture quality and audio and take out the new footage and just leave it the way it was, it still doesn’t seem like watching the Original Trilogy. And we all know there is NO WAY that Lucas would ever release the Original Trilogy without a Clean-Up. So Dr. Gonzo, thank you for giving us something that will NEVER be made.

Did they make the right decision? - use of technology in the Prequels
Time
I'm sorry. But if this is the future of Special Effects then the future looks grim. I've always felt that all the CGI in Episodes I, II, and III's space battles felt weightless. I can't explain it but it feels like watching a cartoon that is trying to pass itself off as real. Atleast with the old use of models it had some weight to it. Now don't get me wrong, the opening space battle in Episode III is great eye candy. but in my opinion is not better then Return of the Jedi's. (Notice how I refer to Episode VI to its ORIGINAL TITLE). And come on George. Are you that f@!@ CHEAP that you can't afford 20 people on Clone Trooper armor? The Clone Troopers looked worse this time around then they did in Episode II. Atleast in Episode II they looked real. I mean, it was so fake when one of the Clone Troopers helmets were off. It looked like I was watching Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. lol God. I can't wait till the TV Series comes out and someone with some talent can direct again. I still say if George would've let Spielberg direct Episode III, we would all be happy. And that is my 2 sense.

Creating the OT NEED HELP
Time
Hey everyone. I am a fan of the Original Star Wars Trilogy. I have recently gotten my hands on the 2 LaserDisc Sets: Star Wars Trilogy The Definitive Collection (SWTDC) and the Star Wars Trilogy THX Face versions (SWTTHX). Now, I love the extras on the SWTDC. This is the first time I have seen quality trailers for the OT. The interviews are also great. Now, my questions are this, which of these Box Sets have the better quality? And I need a hard core DVD Menu Creator. I am going to transfer the films from LD to DVD by my friends DVD Recorder. Iw as going to use my ATI TV WONDER VE to transfer, but the quality is just not good enough in my taste. I have already transfered (From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga) from VHS to mpg. I like the quality, but then again, it was from a VHS tape which is close to 15 years old. So what I need is someone who can create professional DVD Menu's and such. This is my basic layout: 4 DVDs for the Boxset. 1. Star Wars 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Return of the Jedi 4. All the LD extras. PLEASE HELP
