What are you going to do with your SE discs?
Time
It doesn't mater how many versions we buy (one for our selves, the other for charity) because down in the Lucas Ltd. accounting department, it is all sales numbers.

Lucas doesn't care how many we buy. Hell, he would prefer that we all buy 52 sets each. But by sending the disks back (unharmed and sans scratches) our point will be made. They can't use send back disks anyway. The restocking fees, the maticulous cleaning and repackaging. They'll probably just give them away to charity anyway because they can't use them.

It's win- freakin -win baby.

ITS HAPPENED-- OOT AVAILABLE FROM LUCASFILM
Time
Well...given that the game demo is on the same disk as theatrical release isn't so bad. I mean, emotionally it's horrible. I can't stand that even though they are promoting it heavily in that poster (where did the poster come from?) it still constitutes as "bonus" material.

But this is only for one disk right? They aren't going to put a game demo on each disk, right? Because that would be gay. And pointless. I just hope that it doesn't impact the sound and image quality because I've watched movies with bonus material on the same disk and I've never noticed a problem.

I don't understand the $20 and the $30 difference. What is a M.A.P.?

Lucas talks about the Sept 12th Release of the O-OT

I wish I could say it was my own. But it will get our point across nicely (if we do it in a civil manor.)

There should be no notes saying "Lucas you suck, blah blah blah." We are no longer cutting Lucas down for ignoring the fans. We are now simply letting him know for sure which one of the two disks we are going to have to buy are the ones we really wanted.

Word of advice -

If you are sending the disks back, don't be rude about it. Sure, Lucas is a dick, but we don't have to be one either. For those who want to, when you buy the disks, take the SE and send them back with an appropriate note that simply states that

a) The 1977, 1980, and 1983 versions were the only ones you truely wanted
b) You have no use for the revised versions
and/or
c) You already have this version since you bought the 2004 box set and have no need for yet another copy of the same movie

If we are CIVIL about this, our point will be made subtly without a lot of "wah wah wah, the fans are never happy" talk people are spreding. We are going to buy his movies. It is up to us to let him know which version we prefer since both are in the package. Because, how else is he truely going to know?

Now all we need as an address. I suggest sending them to the ranch. I say that because I think that is where they will get the most noticed. I don't think that sending them back to the distributer (FOX, maybe) because then it just sits in the werehouse or something. The closer we can get the disks to Lucas the better.

Now...anyone gotta mailing address that isn't the address for the "fan club?"

Lucas talks about the Sept 12th Release of the O-OT
Time
To help show him that the OOT is the one that we wanted, we need to send back the SE disk in the package that we are buying.

I plan on attatching a little note saying along the lines of:

"Thanks for the 1977, 1980, and 1983 versions of the Star Wars trilogy. I'm disapointed that I had to buy the 2004 release disks as well, and since they hold no value to me and I don't want them, I'm giving them back. Here you go.

Signed,

Me"

Then Lucas will know.

Who's here excited for the new Futurama movies?
Time
I looked and didn't see a thread about this.

So who here is excited about the upcoming Futurama DVD movies? I, for one, am stoked. This is gonna rock so hard. I never could understand why FOX was such an ass to that show (and yet let the Simpsons continue to exist for all eternaty...), but am very happy that the green light has been lit.

I'm hope that the movies are epic, in the sense that they are serial. Of course, what I mean is that I hope that pull a kind of "star wars saga" out of these movies and make all 4 link together. What I really wanted was a feature film (because seeing Futurama on the big screen would have kicked so much ass), but I think that they can do more with 4 direct to DVD movies. Instead of spending their budget on one big blockbuster, they can give the audiance a 4 part saga of sorts. I don't know if they will do a saga or just 4 random movies, but my fingers are crossed for the former.

Adult Swim is right. I do hope that Fry and Leela fall in love, get married, and have freak babies. My anxious audiance eyes and ears await the release.

Original Trilogy Novelizations
Time
As far as I know, nothing has changed. I have the 1997 "special edition" paper backs, along with the original 1976, 1980, and 1983 paper back printings of the OOT books. The copyright information was the same in both versions and I haven't come across anything different in either readings. I would assume the same thing for the reprint that is out in paper back right now in book stores.

No shit. I would LOVE to see this be released as it's own DVD (it would me cheaper too), but the Lucas gang still won't admit that they made a mistake at denying us the OOT in the first place. They are still trying to hush-hush it as much as possible. To them this is nothing but damage control.

And the artwork better not suck. I don't want to see any lousy 2004 Photoshop jobs on these covers. And no SE crap either. They better be original covers. But I doubt we'll get that. We are getting the bare minimum from Lucas. Not that I'm ungrateful, but I should't have to be "greatful" in the first place if he wasnt' such an ass.

The Official 2006 Discs Will Be No Better Than What We Have!
Time
I actually don't mind it if mat lines and and see-though cockpits were fixed so that they aren't there anymore, but they also don't bother me. The mat lines around the DeLorian in Back to the Future are still there on the DVD and they don't bother me. They remind me that they were made in the 80's, which can be distracting, but only if I let them be distracting.

I just hope that the audio isn't screwed up in this September release. And that the color of the lightsabers is good. And again, I would love to see a fixed Obi-Wan lightsaber during ANH when he fights Vader (it's always been if his thing was running out of batteries), but I guess I'll have to pick my battles. I have OCP's DVD version and that makes me happy.
