STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Another nice 'colour-corrected' preview shot Adywan. Great to see how brown Yoda's robes will be again! Please keep these snippets coming over the next few months.

I sure wonder how you will be able to make the whole 'Asteroid Chase' sequence colour look....as the terribly darkened 2004 SE version is so far removed from the nice GOUT colouration to begin with. Good luck.

Adywan - About the 'large, unnatural orange glow' from the little asteroid entering the large 'crater' of the huge 'potato'-shaped asteroid that I flagged up recently -

Having watched this again now, there is a definate 'sound effect' for it, so if you do decide to do something with it, it's probably easiest to just leave the little asteroid and it's shadow, rather than erase it, and just erase the 'glow'.

Also, while I don't really want to talk about 'Jedi' ideas on this thread, with the recent talk of replacing the beginning sequence with a 'different look' to 'A New Hope's' imagery, I'd just like to say that although I love the idea of the 'Executor' being involved instead, that I still hope the actual 'Jedi' overhead shot of the Stardestroyer is kept somewhere, as it is still a great visual, whether with 'shuttles' or not...

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

gavin77 - I'm sure there will be those that want to add this in, but with Adywan's Xvid, DVD-5, PURIST Edition, DVD-9, some with PAL and NTSC versions, it's already a bit daunting for some new to this whole fan edit thing. I still class myself as a 'newbie' to all this, and it certainly took a few questions to work it all out initially.

So I think that Adywan's efforts should be kept to his own preferred version at the moment, where uploading 'ammended' versions of it is concerned.

I liked his 'Alderaan' scene too by the way, and there's a little bit of me that would like to include a snippet of it like this, while still keeping most of the original scene's pace - 'Death Star' fires as normal at Alderaan, then just as planet is hit with laser, we cut to the close up of 'Jar Jar' briefly seeing the impending, overwhelming 'surface rupture' coming towards him, then we cut back to the rest of the original shot just as the laser blast recedes before the big explosion. Poor 'Bail' though... :)

thank for the help guys. Luckily i've managed to dig out a pre-thx VHS tape. Just had a quick scan through it and the colour is the same as the GOUT just less saturated & a very slight different tint to it. I'm just going to go with what looks natural. this was never meant to be a restoration project so if the colour is slightly different than the original then I'm not really bothered about that. As long as that horrible tint is gone and the colouring looks natural then i've achieved what i have set out to do.

Adywan - Whatever you decide on yourself for different scenes throughout is bound to be better than the 2004 SE colouring as far as I'm concerned. The 'darkening' of the original colours in the 'Empire' SE was my main disappointment with that release, and has been happening with other favourite movies of mine too it seems. (And the SE 'A New Hope' was of course also altered for the worse too...) If nothing else, your better colouration is worth the effort of your versions alone!

A couple of other things - The recent ideas on 'the Bespin shuttle scenes' made me compare them on GOUT and SE today...and my own two cents are that the reintroduction of Darth's 'Bring my shuttle' line with NO SE additions of the 'walkway' / shuttle landing inside 'Excecutor's bay / Darth coming down shuttle ramp shots anymore, thus not breaking up the 'Millenium Falcon fleeing' scene so much, sounds good to me.

However, I'd still like one of the 2 shots of the shuttle heading for the 'Executor' to still briefly intercut into the 'fleeing' sequence, ideally the one of the reverse of the shuttle with the 'Executor' in the background (as I really like all 'Executor' effects shots!), but if you plan using that elsewhere, it would be okay with the 'shuttle leaving planet' one too. Just my own preference, although if they are gone (as you seem to think best at the moment), then they are gone. The sequence is still great and pacy enough, whether one of those brief establishing shots is there or not, I realise. Just a thought.

The other thing is, can you please do something with the distractingly large, unnatural (hey it's ALL unnatural I know!) 'orange glow' that occurs when a very small asteroid collides into the large 'crater' of the huge 'potato-shaped' asteroid, just after Han replies to C3PO, 'Never tell me the odds'.

Perhaps either put in some 'sparking debris' on it's impact, or get rid of the small asteroid, it's shadow, and subsequent 'orange glow' altogether! Either way would be preferable to what is there at the moment. Thanks.

When big-time work on ESBR begins, do you plan to retain the blue tint that the TIEs in ESB and ROTJ have had since 1980, or are they gonna be made light-grey to match up with ANHR?

I'm hoping to make them the light grey like in ANHR

Awesome. I look forward to all your colour-rectifying overall, as much as any enhancements that are done, and to see the 'Empire' TIES match the 'A New Hope' one's colouration will be terrific if you can manage that Adywan. I really didn't like their change to a 'bluer' look in the first place... And seeing a lot of the overall SE's 'blue hue' reverted back to a more natural colouration will be great, as shown in the recent shots put up here.

doubleofive - Another nice mock-up back there, giving a taste of what Adywan may give us where the shuttle is concerned. Thanks for these.

One of the joys of 'Star Wars Revisited' was seeing some of Adywan's colour-improvement in many scenes, and I must say that I personally rather the 'naturalistic' colour of the above example, rather than the 'blue-hued' version we got.

This Hoth scene will look great in 'white' again.

Adywan - Thanks for that glimpse into your future plans for your 'Jedi opening! It would be fantastic if you redid the opening a little to include the 'Executor'... The opening shot being too reminiscent of the 'A New Hope' look has always been a particular bugbear of mine too, and this was more than I could have hoped for.

And doubleofive - Thanks to you too for that fine mock-up taster of what may come. Good stuff.

'Printable' blank discs always look best if you can access the equipment to do that, and Adywan's red 'Death Star schematic' label design looks great printed directly onto them.

Thanks to HotRod, I just got my 'PURIST' edition, so am looking for the first two here that would also like one along with g.rev (with Ady's label art on 'direct printed' discs :) ) to say so.

By the way, will some kind soul PM me about PIFing me a copy of Ady's PAL DVD-9, and my circle will finally be complete...

Erikstormtrooper - That sounds like a very nice sequence to me that a part of me wishes could be somehow actually incorporated near the end of the movie somewhere, to emphasise the continuing future threat of the 'Empire'...although it's a bit of a dramatic addition to the already great original ending I know.

Hi all - I've only now had the chance to read up on this fab edit! I'd love to have this one. Is there any kind soul out there who has it, who will PM me to arrange to PIF it on to me?

I will then arrange postage and details, and will PIF it onto others. I'm in U.K. Thanks, and fingers crossed. :)

Came across this recently posted YouTube clip from Adywan's 'Revisited' with alternative lightsaber sounds more akin to the 'Prequels'. More 'PTWOOO's than 'sizzling' and an interesting side by side comparison I thought. I still prefer the original sound though..

Here's the original sounds clip first - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zAe1rp-Qw0

Seven - that's a good summation of some great points and suggestions thus far, and makes me realise how much Adywan has to actually do on his 'Empire' edit after all to incorporate a lot of these! I wonder which ones he'll eventually decide to do...and am very interested in what he eventually does or does not to reconcile the differing looks of the various 'Wampa' designs...

doubleofive - Thanks for the confirmation, that's what I thought. However, as it's such a different edit to Adywan's extended version, it seems a shame that no-one would do something for it for completists like myself.

Even if it's just a case of alteration to the wording of various existing covers perhaps...

Adywan (or anyone else) - Has anyone put up any specifically 'PURIST' version cover art, or disc art also, do you know? If so, where please? If not, there's a gap there surely...

By the way, am awaiting my own PIFed copy of the 'PURIST' version soon, and have 'g-rev' on board for one from me then. So the first next two to PM me can also get it from me. I'll post here who the other 2 are that will get them. I'm in U.K. but will accept from anywhere. :)

Adywan - It was great to finally get a sneak peek at your own proposed cover. It's looking mighty fine so far.

You are a very talented individual, and although some folks may have some differing ideas to your own on your edit, it is truly pathetic that anyone could end up spiteful about it when contacting you.

You have given everyone a Star Wars on STEROIDS! Your creative edit far exceeds what was given us as a 'Special Edition' previously as far as I am concerned, and I know that goes for many, many others here and elsewhere. Screw any haters, and bring on the rest of the saga in your own improved inimitable way!
