Anyway… Happy Birthday to Adywan! 😄
Anyway… Happy Birthday to Adywan! 😄
Yeah, I meant like that, but in hd. I wanted to add it to Vader’s introduction aboard the Executor… like the fleet is close to Coruscant before departing for Hoth.
I tried with a couple images, but it looks terrible, haha
Thank you very much for this!
The music changes I could have done without, however that sounds harsh and I am simply one who thinks there’s a bit too much music in movies (particularly more modern ones). I am a big fan of relative silence with some dialogue and ambient noises.
No problem at all. Personal taste is undisputable.
Does anyone have a usable Coruscant planet-view image or shot to be added in some space shots (for my Ep.V edit)?

May the fourth be with you!
If anyone’s interested, in less than an hour I’ll release another short tribute on my channel.

I never noticed choppiness or “not blu ray compliant” video quality, but yeah, I always render at 29.970 fps.
Thanks for the comment.

I’ve just realized, why is it that when the Millenium Falcon enters and leaves the Death Star, the shield is still on? I love that the shield was added for continuity and it looks great, but shouldn’t it turn off when the Falcon enters and leaves?
I think it’s supposed to deflect energy bolts, not physical objects. At least that’s how I always saw it, lol
Of course! Link sent.
Thank you both!

Thank you! I think I’ll work on a prequel edit, still not sure which one.

I highly enjoyed this edit. The color grading was fantastic, I love that the blaster bolts were updated to match the prequels, and the lightsabers were also vastly improved. A lot of the other new visuals, too, were great (especially the new atmospheres and suns to the planets; the old atmospheres look absolutely terrible on the Blu-Rays and really bug me, they legit just look like big blue lines). I loved the new destruction of Alderaan and every cut/rearrangement worked for me. A lot of the new music was great, as I love prequel music. One part I especially love is the choice for both scenes with Vader when the Millennium Falcon arrives on the Death Star and the scene with Vader telling Tarkin he senses Obi-Wan, it gives this great feeling of mystery and made it much more ominous while also making them feel like more powerful and significant moments. The choice for the Millennium Falcon’s arrival is actually quite brilliant, as it’s from the part in Attack of the Clones on Tatooine (which relates to the fact that they talk about Mos Eisley) while also having the Imperial March in it which works because Vader is in the scene, and it’s music from the last time Vader was on Tatooine. The Imperial March being added for Vader’s entrance and the ending of the scene on the Tantative is also excellent. I quite enjoyed the music added to R2 being captured by the Jawas, and I never knew how well Jar Jar’s theme works with the scene with the droids when they first arrive on Tatooine until now.
However, there were times in which I either found the music choice odd (like the conference scene; I think the first track felt out of place and too loud and the second theme I feel like should be designated for the Separatists; I would’ve chosen “Palpatine’s Teachings” like Adywan did, I think the really eerie part of that piece works incredibly well with the part when Vader chokes Motti) or felt like it was overbearing (the “set your course to Alderaan” scene; music was too loud and I don’t feel like it fit). There were also a couple weird audio moments (the music can be heard when Luke says that Anakin was “just a navigator…”, and some of the audio transitions during the trimmed Mos Eisley entrance were jarring, though the visual cuts were great), and while I love the idea of having the guy who tells Tarkin that the rebel base isn’t on Dantooine being a hologram, you can still hear the door opening and Vader is clearly looking at where the guy’s supposed to be. Hologram looks great though.
Still, this is probably my favorite version of ANH released thus far. It’s a great modernization and feels much more at home with Rogue One and the prequels for me.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it, especially criticism.
I like editing SW movies, so I’ll probably come back to it another time in a few years, lol.

Edit released. PM me for link if interested.
In a few hours it’ll be released. I’m uploading it to the Drive.
Remember that the only software I use is Sony Vegas. I don’t even know how to use After Effects, let alone more complex programs.
I’m capable of restoring deleted scenes as much as I’m capable of resurrecting the dead.
Anyway, this is a pretty conservative edit. There are small cuts here and there, some suns added to space shots and music additions. This is definitely not a new Revisited, it’s not meant to be that, mostly because I’m not Adywan, lol.
But thank you for showing interest and posting suggestions 😄
I hope to finish everything in a few days.
EDIT: I tried to work on Tagge’s “Sith lord” namedrop in the deleted scene, but it’s totally unusable, at least by me. There is background noise, some echo… Both SV and Audacity were useless.
