Hyperspace (Rough Cut) as promised:
Donāt know if it works, but it would help flow Rogue One and ANH a lot better as far as continuity goes. Great idea by BedeHistory.
As for the SC38 cut, not bad at all 21C Peasant. I like what youāre going for, and I will definitely try to retain as much of the original footage as possible. However, the hallway growing exceptionally wide is still something that will need fixing.
Man, even if itās a rough cut it already looks awesome!
Really happy to see you back here and in good health, man!
And even more excited about this possible edit. It was one of the edits I was following with more interest!
Welcome back!
What?
I mean, this one could be skipped. And depending on the last two episodes and their content of worth, Iāll take the removal of this episode into account when those are released, but what? Are we watching the same show?
This episode (despite some of Reevaās dialogue and running) had the highest production value and interest of conflict thus far in the series for me, and the lack of security and intellectual stormtroopers (which, letās face it, has been a thing since ANH) doesnāt ruin this for me.
This episode had me engaged from the get-go, and unless the last two episodes have so much content that keeping this episode would be impractical for the overall pacing, I think I would keep most of it.
And come on. The āthe good guy gets awayā has been a thing since 1977. Outside of Star Wars, itās been a thing since the beginning of film. That Darth Vader gave up a hunt I think we all can assume he finds amusing and fills him with purpose doesnāt break immersion for me the slightest. Iāve come to expect that.
This was levels above episode 1 and 2.
The underwater sequence, the Jedi tombs, the torture device, Leia grabbing Obi-WANās hand at the end, the music finally delivering, Obi-Wan finding back to his Jedi ways, Tala as a character, the shot of the stormtroopers drowning, the probe droid hunting Obi-Wan - searching through the glass window with the eerie music⦠this episode had memorable, emotional, intense moments!
Completely agree with you.
I found the whole prison break pretty classic but exciting, Reva was not over the top, Leiaās interrogation was good and the child actress was pretty great.
I liked it more than previous episodes. Even more than the previous one, mostly because the duel (in my very very personal opinion) had a fan-film-like camera work and direcion, except for the last part.
Iām soooo hyped for this edit. I tried to do something similar, but with my - letās say - limited capabilities I was only able to change colors here and there, add some suns to space shots and add music.
Even if obviously itās a WIP, and anything can change from day to day, Iām really looking forward to this.
You do realize that you can always make your own edit, instead of filling the thread with requests?
Iām still struggling with primary concept idea. I have no idea why Bail needed Obi-Wan to go find Leia. Heās a part of the Empire technically. A senator couldnāt send soldiers to get his daughter?
Did I miss something?
I think it was because Bail didnāt want to draw attention to his family, in order to avoid any risk of people finding out the truth about Leia.
I LOVE what you did with those video samples.
Iām always down for any attempt at making (especially) ANH more modern, so consider me really interested.
V2 Torrent of my Upscale is live on the pirate bay. Message me if youāre having issues finding it.
I may potentially try a 60fps conversion for the fun of it at some point. Iāll let everybody know if I do
Thank you! Iāve found it on PB, even though now itās still stuck at metadata downloading.
Happy birthday, Adywan!
Ok, just a couple of things.
I donāt know if I can add the Death Star surface, simply because Iād have to add it to every window, and with the moving camera (especially during the fight) Iām pretty sure I canāt motion track a still image.
Also, the planet outside would have been only in that single scene (Vader and Palpy talking), just to give the idea that the Death Star is moving between scenes.
So⦠Iāll either leave it as the original or keep the planet only in this sceneā¦
Thatās some great work there! However, wouldnāt make more sense for that to be the surface of the Death Star rather than Endor since itās a really high tower on top of it?
Damn, youāre right! Iāll try search for some HD images of the Death Star surfaceā¦
If possible, Iād like a link when itāll be available.
I canāt find any difference, hahaha.
But this is definitely one of the edits Iām most interested about.
Hereās a short playlist of some clips and comparisons, if anyoneās interested.

Excuse me, does anyone have a link for telecineās ROTJ edit? The remade blaster bolts and lightsabers would make me spare so much timeā¦
⦠but itās not something I really care about, in all honesty, as long as it looks cool, haha.

Looks great, but one thing stood out to me: Where youāve added the sun in the space shot, that conflicts with the light/shadow on the second death star. The sun, as the brightest point of light, should be what determines the shadow, so you need to position the two objects with the shadow line perpendicular to the line between them.
What about this?
Youāre definitely right.
Thanks! Every added stuff is just still images.
The Endor shot⦠I found a background image online from a Battlefront game. I masked the original background, softened edges and added it. Lastly, I added a light beam with Sony Vegas in the front, to match the new background.
Jabbaās palace shots are still images from Book of Boba Fett.
The hologram is a combination of a TV effect from Sony Vegas and a āhologram beamā video from YouTube.
And the planet-view Endor shots are, again, still images from Google images with a very basic motion tracking to match the original moving background.
Thanks
Iāve restarted working on this more actively. Things can change anytime, as Iāve not yet found a damned job (Italy is just doomed).
Iām using this edit to experiment and try different changes.
Top: original.
Bottom: edited.
Slightly increased contrast, removed blue-ish tone, added slight glow to reduce puppet effect on SD, added sun, replaced Endor.

Slightly altered color, added force field and added floor reflection (missing in previous versions).
Lowered image and replaced Jabbaās palace and sky.

Consider me intrigued! Iād like a link when available š
