I finished it and rendered it. Something like 9 hours O.O
Just some things:
Eventually I didn’t put any voiceover. I tried and tried with volumes, but it just sounded too different from real Palpatine’s voice.
In the end, I didn’t put the Tantive IV opening shot before Yoda, Bail and Obi talk about Luke.
In the credits I put a simple credit about the edit… but it looks bad because of the background text. You’ll understand it when you see it. It is a really minor error, I surely won’t repeat the rendering for that.
Now I have to choose where to upload it. It is an over 8gb MP4 file, so any suggestions are welcomed.
I think it came out the way I wanted. It doesn’t fix everything, but at least it makes way less obvious that DV is Anakin. I’m satisfied with the color correction and with the cuts. The deleted scenes look a little less detailed, but I think they are acceptable.
I don’t know if I will upload it tomorrow or in the following days, but as soon as it is online you’ll know it.
I want to say a really huge “Grazie” to everyone who commented and suggested things.
If I’m inspired I think I will start working on the PT mashup… maybe called “Chosen One - A Star Wars story”.
FIRST DELETED SCENE.
Just to show you the music I added from Rogue One.
IMHO they fit pretty well, both the positioning of the deleted scene (showing the Anakin/Padme scene just after the deleted one shows that Padme completely trusts Anakin) and the music that sends you signs about the birth of the Rebellion.PS: In these days I thought about some things. I was wondering is it is possible to place the entire Order 66 AFTER Anakin’s “death”.
Anakin is sent to Mustafar, the Empire is born, Kenobi and Yoda go to the Temple and discover the truth and the two duels happen. But during all of this the Clone Wars continue, and after the Darth Vader scene we see all the Order 66.
Some new scenes would be needed, some new dialogue (to explain why Kenobi goes away from Utapau before the battle is over, for example), but of course it would greatly improve continuity. I don’t think it is plausible, and surely now I wouldn’t have the time to do it, but I think it would be a cool edit idea.The other thing was to make a new prequel mashup, but to try making it in a more Rogueoneish way. A real spinoff, so that we wouldn’t need to hide any plot points. The main story is the Original Trilogy, and the Prequels just become a spinoff like Rogue One or Solo.
We could put an intro like in RO, then use Revenge of the Sith as a base, and then put flashbacks during Anakin’s dreams.You can count on my voices and encouragement if you decide to do either of the two. 😃.

I just added the music from Rogue One when Jyn is brought to Yavin (the Rebel Alliance short theme) and I put it at the beginning of the first deleted scene (Bail, Mon, Padme and others talking about how to oppose Palpatine by creating what will evetually become the real Rebel Alliance).
I’m thinking that I could make a trailer, considering that this is what I do on my YT channel.

On YouTube there are, for example, some Green Screen effect, so if you have any ideas on how to add some of them I’m glad to listen.

I just remembered that Rebels season 2’s ending clearly says that Vader is Anakin, so to watch everything in chronological order, that should be edited too.
It is impossible to fix everything by just working on Episode III. We should at the very least work on Episode IV and Rebels too.

Of course it will not and it cannot be perfect.
When you watch Episode IV Ben says that Vader was his apprentice, and Vader himself calls Ben “master”.
But with some imagination… Ben says that Vader was “a pupil of mine”. It can be seen like “I had many apprentices, Anakin was only one of them”.
And with Vader alling him “master”… well, every Jedi called a higher Jedi “master”.
My purpose is simply to make less obvious that Anakin is Darth Vader… for people who watch it for the first time.
Maybe you want to show the entire saga to your children. If you use another order, you will always have problems with some plot twists or with animated shows like Clone Wars and Rebels, and with spinoffs too.
With this you can watch everything in episodic order.
I, II, Clone Wars, III, Rogue One and so on.
If you really think about it, you start believing that Darth Vader is indeed Anakin, but you can’t be sure.
Ok, here’s what I’m doing.
I inserted the three “political” deleted scenes. The two with Padme, Bail, Mon and other senators and the one where they go to Palpatine.
I don’t dislike political scenes. Don’t forget that these movies are surele about Anakin becoming Darth Vader, but they are made to explain also how the Republic became the Empire. And this is a strictly political matter.
Then I removed only Anakin going to the Temple, killing younglings and 3PO telling Padme that Anakin was seen at the Temple.
We suppose that while CLONES kill jedi, Anakin is somewhere else.
But at least for now I’ll keep the Tantive IV scenes.
So you basically suggest that I simply remove Anakin’s scenes to the Temple but keep the scenes where we see the Clones attacking but put all of this after Palpy gives Order 66.
I don’t remember all the dialogue, but I think I could reinsert also the Tantive IV scene with Yoda, Bail and Obi Wan.
We keep everything, we just remove Anakin.
That’s really cool. In truth I was thinking about it, but I was working on other scenes so I didn’t have time to picture it.

I’d like to use at least the two Rebel Alliance’s birth scenes.
SECOND ANAKIN’S DREAM.
Same as before.
While there is the dream we hear low Palpatine saying: “Learn to use the Dark Side… Dark Side of the Force… Power to… Power to save Padme”.I like that subtle inclusion of that to the dream. Maybe just SLIGHTLY louder … but not too much louder to drown out the rest of it. Only try that just to see how viable increasing it … since it’s pretty nice as is.
I tried different volumes.
I wanted something like Yoda’s voice in Rey’s vision in Episode VII, a voice that you hear but you don’t pay attention to unless you already know it.
Plus, I can increase volume of the first part, cause if I raise volume in the second (Power to save Padme) I think it becomes too obvious that Palpatine is the one speaking.
But of course I’ll keep trying.
Here is an idea I have about the baby birth scene:
No baby names are ever revealed. Also, it is important to remove the reveal of baby leia’s sex. Depending on the possibility to do it in a seamless way, a dub of Obi-Wan saying “It’s a Boy” helps with my idea. Here it is:
First of all, the main reveal of the babies’ genders in the original cut are revealed by the nursing robot. That is an easy fix, since she uses a “robot” language that is translated on screen. One could completely remove the translation, or use a very generic translation. It can be on the lines of “The first baby is healthy/first baby’s birth is successful” or “The second baby is healthy/the second baby’s birth is successful.” Also, having nothing is ok since Star Wars movies do not always translate Droids or Aliens.
SO with that in mind, imagine the first baby coming out and the droid’s words are not translated or say something different.
So the first birth goes as plans WITHOUT the droid revealing the sex. Obi-wan takes the baby, shows it to Padme. She does not name the child but goes directly to “pushing” out the next baby.
If possible, to help make the scene sound/feel more natural, if someone could do a seamless dub of Obi-Wan saying “it’s a boy,” it would be helpful to the scene before Padme begins “pushing out” the next child. The reason is he says “it’s a girl” to Leia but not when Luke is born. This is not 100% necessary, but adds polish to this edit.
So now we have the next baby coming out, the droid does not reveal the sex and we have Obi-wan with the second child. Here is the slight change to it from the original cut: Obi-Wan gets cut off by padme before he says girl.
It would go something like this:
Obi-Wan: “It’s a …”
Pademe: Cuts off Obi wan - “Obi-Wan…”
This way the baby’s gender is not revealed in a convincing way.
The cream on the top of this would again, be someone able to seamlessly dub in Obi Wan saying “it’s a boy” when Luke is born. Again, not 100% needed, but does help with the edit.
The next change deviates from the movie’s original transition. Instead of transitioning right a way to the interior of Tantive IV with Obi, Yoda and Bail … there is an establishing shot of the exterior of Tantine IV.
To do this, there are a few ways … one could be using a mirrored shot of Tantive IV from the movie OR someone with skill can make a new shot of the ship. It does not have to be anything fancy, just a non static shot of the ship.
During this establishment shot of the ship, it would have Obi-wan saying his line “What of the boy?”
Then it cuts to Yoda spinning in his seat and talks to Obi-Wan with the plan for the baby boy, etc. The rest is the original conversation between Yoda and Obi-Wan. By doing this, the audience is coming into the meeting during the middle … or ending of it. That way, the other baby, who’s gender has not been revealed is still hidden and its fate is not directly been revealed. Of course, we would need to remove all the Alderan shots of Bail and Wife with a baby. Just the shots of Obi-Wan on Tatooine … maybe even Yoda on Degobah.

The concept works aright, I don’t think it matters really who was “born first.” Obviously the boy is “rough,” but if someone who has more skill in audio editing or can piece together other sounds and words Ewan/Obi says … I think that can work very nicely.

They are nowhere to be found on the web.
