SECOND ANAKIN’S DREAM.

While there is the dream we hear low Palpatine saying: “Learn to use the Dark Side… Dark Side of the Force… Power to… Power to save Padme”.
Here is an idea I have about the baby birth scene:
No baby names are ever revealed. Also, it is important to remove the reveal of baby leia’s sex. Depending on the possibility to do it in a seamless way, a dub of Obi-Wan saying “It’s a Boy” helps with my idea. Here it is:
First of all, the main reveal of the babies’ genders in the original cut are revealed by the nursing robot. That is an easy fix, since she uses a “robot” language that is translated on screen. One could completely remove the translation, or use a very generic translation. It can be on the lines of “The first baby is healthy/first baby’s birth is successful” or “The second baby is healthy/the second baby’s birth is successful.” Also, having nothing is ok since Star Wars movies do not always translate Droids or Aliens.
SO with that in mind, imagine the first baby coming out and the droid’s words are not translated or say something different.
So the first birth goes as plans WITHOUT the droid revealing the sex. Obi-wan takes the baby, shows it to Padme. She does not name the child but goes directly to “pushing” out the next baby.
If possible, to help make the scene sound/feel more natural, if someone could do a seamless dub of Obi-Wan saying “it’s a boy,” it would be helpful to the scene before Padme begins “pushing out” the next child. The reason is he says “it’s a girl” to Leia but not when Luke is born. This is not 100% necessary, but adds polish to this edit.
So now we have the next baby coming out, the droid does not reveal the sex and we have Obi-wan with the second child. Here is the slight change to it from the original cut: Obi-Wan gets cut off by padme before he says girl.
It would go something like this:
Obi-Wan: “It’s a …”
Pademe: Cuts off Obi wan - “Obi-Wan…”
This way the baby’s gender is not revealed in a convincing way.
The cream on the top of this would again, be someone able to seamlessly dub in Obi Wan saying “it’s a boy” when Luke is born. Again, not 100% needed, but does help with the edit.
The next change deviates from the movie’s original transition. Instead of transitioning right a way to the interior of Tantive IV with Obi, Yoda and Bail … there is an establishing shot of the exterior of Tantine IV.
To do this, there are a few ways … one could be using a mirrored shot of Tantive IV from the movie OR someone with skill can make a new shot of the ship. It does not have to be anything fancy, just a non static shot of the ship.
During this establishment shot of the ship, it would have Obi-wan saying his line “What of the boy?”
Then it cuts to Yoda spinning in his seat and talks to Obi-Wan with the plan for the baby boy, etc. The rest is the original conversation between Yoda and Obi-Wan. By doing this, the audience is coming into the meeting during the middle … or ending of it. That way, the other baby, who’s gender has not been revealed is still hidden and its fate is not directly been revealed. Of course, we would need to remove all the Alderan shots of Bail and Wife with a baby. Just the shots of Obi-Wan on Tatooine … maybe even Yoda on Degobah.

I liked the twins’ “adoption” scenes with Bail and Beru/Owen, but since this edit is made to make Episode III watchable in chronological order, I think it is better try as you say.
Now, my proposal.
Simply change gender between children. Make Leia be born before Luke.
When Luke is born I TRY (I don’t promise anything) this: I leave “It’s a…” and then I take the “What of the BOY” and put it together.
Then we cut to Darth Vader’s birth and then to a Tantive IV opening scene before the “What of the boy” by Obi Wan.

As I said, there is the cut from Grievous and Palpatine scene (where Palpy does not say that he is going to have a new apprentice) and then the panoramic city view of Coruscant.
No balcony scene, we cut to Anakin’s dream, where there are scenes on background about Shmi and Dooku’s death and Palpatine voice.Anakin must have an “Odi et Amo” relationship with power itself, not just fear for Padme’s loss.
That was done really well, nice job!
I am getting more and more interested in this edit. It gives me ideas about the collaboration RogueLeader is coming up with!

Was about to mention that before I saw your comment, haha. Good job on the colour correction, I think you did a great job.
But the sky doesn’t blend well with the foreground. If you can darken the sky I think it’d look wonderful, it just looks a bit jarring at the moment.Otherwise fantastic job!
The rain is an interesting idea but not sure how well it could be executed without looking tacky.
Thank you 😉 As I said, I tried working on the sky, but when I change settings on it, fake looking CGI becomes a punch in the face, and Obi Wan and Padme’s figures’ masking becomes too visible.
I will try again, of course, but I don’t promise any success.
With a bit of imagination it can be seen as just before dawn or after sunset, when the sky light is visible but the sun isn’t.

The first one is nice, but I’m not completely satisfied about how I have to dissolve it and put the Imperial March part at the end (when DV and Palpy look at the Death Star).I actually love the transition. Keep it as is.

I also prefer the second one, the only thing is that the volume is to loud when the emperor says “a powerful sith you will become” so it’s a bit hard to hear, but other than that it is good!

KENOBI-PADME scene update.
I kept trying. I tried with other rain effects, with color correction, brightness, contrast, etc. But it still remains too much visible, and even if I change settings in a considerable way there is the problem of the CGI in background that becomes a punch in the face.
The only solution would be a completely new background, but I don’t have any instrument nor capability to do it. I’m not Adywan 😄
This is the last test. I gave a blueish tone. It seems the scene is set right before dawn or sunset.
Now you simply have to choose between the two.

Lol, if anyone has any suggestion on how to improve the scene I’m glad to hear it.
If I change settings on the rain green screen, rain disappears.
Tha masking on the column remains too much visible, probably because of the double effect (darkening and rain behind).
I don’t know how to darken the sky, cause it has the same problems of the rain.
I can leave it the way it is, with the simple darkening effect.
Or I can add the storm sound, but then when we see the sky, it is not a stormy sky.
I think for the time being I will pass to other scenes, lol.
I like this idea man. I see what you’re saying about the rain though. I kind of think this particular rain effect just doesn’t work for some reason. Maybe another would, or messing with the opacity of the effect.
If the rain doesn’t work, maybe you could just add distant sounds of thunder instead.
I think the color grading looks cool, though the horizon does seem a little bright. I think that kind of gives the effect away a little bit since you can’t really do much about the sky being clear despite how stormy the mood feels now.Totally my opinion, but I think adding thunder sounds, and maybe trying to darken the sky somehow, might be more effective than adding rain in the background.

I think you understand my skepticism.
I masked Padme every single frame. In fact, I dont think you notice it that much.
But the cutting around the background floor and the column is pretty mich visible, and I don’t know how to fix it.
I’d like to know your first impression.
If you think it is acceptable, then I continue and cut Obi and Padme even in the following scene. Then I slowly dissolve rain before Kenobi leaves.
Otherwise it will go only with darker setting and without rain.
