not well. I still enjoy seeing OT toys in stores, even though its like the 10th version of that toy(thanks mr businessman Luca$). I still get a rush when I pop in the OOT VHS (faces) trilogy to watch. I was 5 years old when ANH came out in 77', and like all you, I was smitten. As a kid all I could think about was SW, so much that my parents stopped buying me the toys after 1977 Christmas. Before the PT garbage, SW was such a great love and an outlet when times were rough. It was fun talking SW with my close friends who were also big fans. I read the books, built the models, collected the figures, bought and beat the video games up till' 1999. I relished any interview with Luca$, or any SW OOT castmember on TV, or magazine up til' 1999. During PT, I was mystified about how something so great, all of a sudden....sucked. Now Im in my mid 30's and as far as SW is concerned, I only consider the OOT, actual SW. The PT is pure garbage. The EU is a cluster-fuck of galactic proportions. I stopped reading the comics around 96', along with the books, because both started to get silly. When I go to a comic shop, I see EU comics and Ive no clue who or what is on the cover. Or a bookstore, where there's a freakin library's worth of SW EU titles. And the video games, I cant stand that stupid force unleashed II commercial with some jedi and vader duking it out. Where has the storyline canon gone? Luca$ sure as hell doesnt know, he just knows that its his claim to fame and $$$$$$. Its because of the PT and all this EU bullshit, that Ive lost interest in SW. All in all, I cant george Luca$ anymore for what he's done to SW. The man's a phony IMO.
Another huge killjoy for me is the blasted CW cartoons. I HATE that Luca$ has reduced SW to a damn cartoon. I havent watched any of them and NEVER will. He could have made the PT about the clone wars alone, instead of all that crap he gave us.
^^^ LOL Frink!!! Also I'd like to add that I was (like many) super embarrassed to be a SW fan during the PT when people in the audience would snicker or full out laugh at all the cheesy-sorry-ass- lines Luca$ made the actor read. I just wanted to slump down in my seat.
For me, it was the finality of ROTS and thinking "16 years since ROTJ, and this is the PT Luca$ comes up with?!" Then discovering what about SW truly motivates Luca$, $$$$$. And I agree that he doesnt care about OOT fans desire about BD production and is a huge liar.
Like Zombie, Ive learned to ignore what I dont like as far as new products go. I stopped reading the novels after the 4th book in the x-wing rogue squadron series, and the black fleet cirsis.

I agree with chainsawash too. I will NOT be seeing the 3D abominations or shelling out so much as a pocket of lint for Luca$ anything until he shows respect and gives us the OOT in 1080p. The CNN letter was good until the dude talked about "caving in" and watching the films on the first day of release. He should've grown some sack and told Luca$ that he was NOT going to see the movies. CAVING IN is what Luca$ wants and as long as people keep "caving in", he's gonna keep on keeping on with the revisions for $$$$$$!
I'll forgive Luca$ when he puts the OOT on blu-ray, complete with all the bells and whistles, the same treatment he gave the SE's for DVD, thus showing respect, gratitude and courtesy for us OOT fans that have invested 100's of dollars, time, love, fuel, for his merchandise and contributing to his immense wealth.
I was always amazed by Sansweets collection. I dont really care that he's leaving. He's just another "yes"-man, kowtowing to Luca$' every word. And Jim Ward was a tool, couldnt care less where he is now.
Another thing I hate is Luca$ admitting that TPM and AOTC were just "filler" films. What a damn waste! If I were writing, I'd be licking my chops with enthusiasm! But no, Luca$ is all ho-hum about it and barely turns in a script on time before filming, with crap. Taxation of trade routes?! Midiclorians?! a lazy jedi council?! Just 2 sith?! jar jerk binks?!
Ok, I'll bite. I liked:
From TPM: Maul (needed a bigger part though, and speaking). Also liked qui-gon and obi-wan although their roles should have been reversed IMO. I liked the destroyer droids and enjoyed Ian Mcdirmids performance as senator palpatine/sidious, also enjoyed the intro to coruscant. thats it.
AOTC: enjoyed Christopher Lee's scenes as count dooku(hate the name). Loved Kamino and the mystery of the clone facilities. thats it.
ROTS: again, enjoyed Christopher Lee's scenes, the duel at the beginning. i liked the scene where anakin and padme are staring out into coruscant from the jedi temple and her apt. respectively, right before he decides to take matters into his own hands to help palpatine. liked the yoda vs sidious duel, but hate the way it ended. thats it.

Spot on. I recall reading about the collaboration a long time ago and I began thinking about Luca$ in a different light. With the OOT, creative collaborators and film executives were able to disagree with Luca$ or flat out tell him "NO". With the PT there wasnt anybody around to say: "George, SW cant go in this direction, this is SHIT". Instead, Luca$ bought out SW, surrounded himself with "yes" men, and mentally got lost and forgot what made SW so special.
In regards to Indiana Jones, Luca$'s biggest involvement should have been relegated to parking the staff's cars. KOTCS was aweful and I too exclude it from the real IJ trilogy. I only saw it once, in the theater, and Ive no desire to see it again. Aliens?! really?! At the end of the movie I half expected Moulder and Skully to pop in. But that movie, like the PT, made an undeserving large amount of money. So I wouldnt be surprised if george proposed doing another. Seems he's into milking these franchises at the expense of their integrity.
I popped in the PT about 2 yrs ago. If I ever feel like watching them, the FFWD button is used A LOT! Too many cringeworthy scenes in the PT.
I dislike them because george f!@#ed them up. It starts with him.
Poor writing,poor acting, overdependance of cgi due to excessive laziness and ego. He had PLENTY of time to come up with something, anything, better than what we got. I feel great resentment with Luca$ everytime I watch the PT.
Jarjar is an abomination to the world of SW. He's better suited for some children's show on nickelodean, not the world of SW. Or better yet, his concept should have been incinerated, never to be revealed! So much precious screentime was wasted on that orange putz.
IMO, the PT has no integrity. All 3 movies are basically 2hr,20min commercials for hasbro toys. THATS more important to Luca$ more than anything. For george, its ALL about merchandising. He's more concerned about what he can plaster the SW label on, and how much money he can make. He told his creative teams during their crafting that he wants every character to be able to be made into a toy, so dont complicate the physical feature. more characters=more toys. That really pisses me off too.

The late Brad Renfro would have made an excellent young Anakin(anybody see "apt pupil"? his personality changes and intensity are amazing.) Ethan Hawke is an excellent actor for the role too imo.
I'd keep Ewan Mcgregor as obiwan. but in TPM, he's a full jedi, not a padawan. I thought Ewan did the best acting anyway
Loved Liam Neeson as Qui-gon. but in a smaller role. Obiwan needed to discover anakin, not qui-gon.
SW isnt for Natalie Portman. Before TPM she had never seen a SW movie and had to rent the whole trilogy before filming. She wasnt happy with Lucas's filming process and she did a lot of bawling in the bathroom on set. I loathed Portman's performance and think she's highly overrated anyway. For the role of Padme', I'd select Milla Jovovich(sp) from the resident evil movies. She's beautiful and can kick ass. Other options: Gretchen Mol, Famke Jansen, Kirsten Dunst, or Minnie Driver.
Michael York as mace Windu. Great actor with swordplay experience. Ever see "the 4 musketeers"? He has a spectacular sword duel against......Christopher Lee!
Helen Mirren as a Mon Mothma.

Keep Jimmy Smits as senator Bail Organa. Bigger part. Too good of an actor to be sidelined like he was.
Nicolas Cage IMO would have made a great jango fett or another mandalorian warrior. denzel Washington would've been great too.

Yeah I also own the 95' faces versions. And, they are the only versions of the OOT I own. I recently donated the 97' SE VHS versions along with the rest of my VHS movies to a charity. The 95' versions I think, were remastered and "cleaned" up as mentioned in the advertising, so I dont know why Luca$ says the originals are too damaged for cleaning up for bluray. Sounds like more lying BS from luca$. Lots of people were fooled into buying the OTSE DVD's. thinking that they were original versions, and I've talked with some of them. Ive also heard that since george changed the movies, starting in 97', that he doesnt have to pay royalties to the actors due to some legal loophole he found. Anyone know anything about this? If its true, I wouldnt be surprised.
Beat Resistance 2 this morning. Game is very addicting. I sure hope a Resisitance 3 is made!
Im about 3/4 the way through Resistance 2, I think. This game is TOUGH! So far I favor the 1st Resistance. The 2nd one, I dont like the direction the programmers took in regards to the enemies. Its like they borrowed ideas from clash of the titans, godzilla, and the leviathan from pirates of the carribean. The fright factor is much bigger in this game too.
Just got done replaying Resistance as a warmup for Resistance 2 for PS3. Anybody play either of these? they are sooo much fun and addicting. Played for 7hrs last night.
I was 9 when ROTJ came out and LOVED IT. At that age I was all about the space battles and light saber battles. I also loved the toys and tried to buy them, even though my parents forbade me. I still love the Endor space battle. After the PT tragedy was released, like many of you, I was let down and pissed. I started reading about other fans being pissed too and I joined the PT basher nation on a couple of SW sites. During and post PT, I like many others discovered just how lazy and selfish Lucas was and some also speculated that ROTJ was the beginning of the end as far as quality goes. I recall reading a Gary Kurtz interview where Gary said that in response to Kasdan's hard work and over-budget spending on ESB, George said: "we could have made just as much money if you hadnt made it THAT GOOD". And then the allegations of Luca$ hiring Marquand because he was a "yes" man, so that ROTJ would be easier to make with Luca$ directing from the "back seat" with less people challenging him and so on.
I just recently bought the new 3.37" boba fett from the new VESB wave, and the K-mart exclusive jodo Kast. They're the first SW figs Ive bought in like 3 years, because I was sick of all the rereleases of figures. I love OOT figs! Anybody find any foil-carded chase figs?
I first saw Hayden superimposed over shaw during an airing of ROTJ on spikeTV. I wanted to kick in the screen and went through 5 minutes of expletives directed at Luca$. I hated the SE's, but these further changes just tore me apart. I still havent seen the latest greedo vs han change where lucas has them shooting about the same time instead of greedo shooting 1st like the SE's. And I really dont want to. Lucas even wore a "han shot 1st" t-shirt around the set of indiana jones KOTCS. And I hate how lucas is repetitively letting SpikeTV air these SE 2.0 abominations! Its like he's trying to get people to forget the OOT by shoving this garbage trilogy down our throats!

Yeah, Ive beat the 1st AC and Im looking fwd to tackling the 2nd. I heard the game was improved during production in all facets. Anybody play the "resistance" games? Ive beat the first one and Im gonna replay it before playing the 2nd.
