Plot holes in the SW saga

Man!!!!!

It's like me going on about the first LOTR film and saying "Well thats just bullshit the way he done that" or " Well that makes no sence at all"

Then watching 2 and 3 and thinking "Oh right yeah, makes sence now"

And again....I think for all Lucas' faults, he's not stupid enough to leave a big gaping plot hole in his baby..

For 30 years he's been doing this, I doubt he's gonna fuck it up now!

Unless you call the PT a fuck up??

Which I don't!

You'rer not wrong man!!

Jesus people, wait till 3 is out!!

Man, the story's not even finished yet, and some of you are going on about things that will be answered in the new film.

It's already been stated that 3 will tie up all the loose ends.

Lucas has said that 3 will bring 1 & 2 plus 456 all together!!

Wait!!!!

Wall - head - brick - against - banging!!!

I doubt that Mr Lucas would fuck something that big up, the Ghost thing I mean.

It was such a important thing for Obi-Wan to say to Vader in ANH "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine", that if Lucas left that out in 3, then yes major plot hole.
But as it stands, at the moment I can't seem to find any.

Like I said somewhere before, wait till 3, then go on about plot holes.

As for Padme and the hanger, DJR seems to have summed that up nicely

Vader didn't let Obi-Wan go because of Luke. Vader didn't know about Luke until after ANH. And Obi-Wan didn't know about Leia. And niether one of them were Jedi. And Obi-Wan wasn't a Jedi Knight anymore, but he was still a Jedi...

That's just about covers lots of the recent posts that I want to comment on....

But Anakin knows that Padme is pregnant???

Unless he thinks they all died at the same time!!!???

Who knows...........We will next year!!!!!

Yay

I agree with that, but the way you got it there Bossk, it sounds like Ben is manipulating Luke to his own ends.

Hence why I said that it wasn't exactly the way of the Jedi but these were bleak times. Bleak times require desperate measures. And with Luke being one of the two last Jedi, well you're not left with much choice but to manipulate. Right?

Here's one for you all!!

It's a bit EU, but, if Luke and Leia are the only two Jedi left so to speak, why are there loads all of a sudden in all the EU books!!???

Why doesn't Obi-Wan just go gather all the Force sensitive folk out there, train em all up, and go kick some Empire ass!!!

I might be talking shit here, I'm very very very hungover!!

Again...Theres no plot holes in Star Wars..

Yes, George may have made the movies up as he went along, but there are no holes in his story....

"Your father should have stayed here and not gotten involed" - Maybe he was refreing to young Anakin leaving Tatooine with Qui-gon and Obi-wan the first time round...
After all, Shmi spent a good few years with the Lars, plenty of time for her to tell the story of how her little boy was going to be a great Jedi!!!

ESB is even better, the only scene I can spot that can be cut is the Luke quick chat with the medical droid before the hoth battle begins, and that scene is just there for pacing reasons to put a moment between the scenes that proceeds and follows it.

Did you know that that scene was filmed by George Lucas....And it took something like 20 goes to get the right one!!!

I doubt if GL meant for Obi-wan to "speak in tongues" if you will, I think he only made it look that way as each movie came along in order to make it easier for him to cover up his previous mistakes. That's why that conversation with Luke was added in ROTJ; so people could make sense out of Obi-wan telling Luke that Vader killed his father in ANH.

So yes, they are plot holes--or were.

No they are not man...

Look...Put it this way...

Luke has just met Obi Wan...

Do you really think Obi wan is gonna blurt out what happened to Lukes father straight away...no he is not..

"Hello Luke...Oh by the way, your father was my best friend, but couldnt handle the way I was treating him, so he joined up with the Emporor and killed your mother and eevryone who cared for him..Then Fucked off and ruled the Galaxy with his new master....Don't want to scare you or anything but it might happen to you too...Oh and heres his lightsabre"

No..........

See....George knows what he is doing!!!

The thing is...

If when the Ultimate editions do come out, and they do change all the voices of the stormtroopers to that of Jango and the Clones...........

Wouldn't that make the scene with Han and Luke dressed up as Troopers bollox...

I mean, Soon as Solo opens his mouth to the Officer in the Detention block, he's gonna realise that something is up...Well realise sooner than he already does that is......

This is one of the reasons I disslike the updated and altered versions of the Original Trilogy. They are fine the way they are. All changes made to these movies are either cosmetic and as such are only meant as eye candy, not adding anything to the story, or they are meant to cover-up plot holes that were introduced in Episodes I and II. If he had watched his Original Trilogy more carefully before writing the stories for the prequels, he wouln't have to correct these unnecessary plot holes afterwards.

Hang on a sec.....

Where are these changes you speak of????

thats what I've been saying for years, that would be all I need to explain Leia's memory of her mother, then they just have to have Padme die before she gets to hold Luke in the same way.

Exactly!!!

Makes that whole scene in Jedi even more moving!!

Those aren't plot holes man....

Yoda - Obi wan training thing...Well you've explained that yourself, so no holes in the plot there...

Obi-Wan "took it upon himself to train him as a Jedi" - Which he did....I don't think that was the right time for Obi-Wan to tell Luke his life story....not with the big battles, and Death Stars going on an shit!!

Again....

I'm sure George Lucas knows his films...He did right them in the first place.....

Ok, so he's changing them....So...

He's not changing them so much that it's full of holes...

No, now he's just adding to an already great story!
