Thing is, I grew up with SW too. It was my life from the age of 6.
Love it, love everything about it. All my mates take the piss out of me for loving it so much.
They have bets on how long it'll be before I bring it up at a party or bbq or whatever....

But I also like the PT. Not in the same leage as the OT, but I do like them.
No, it's not what I had in mind when I thought about Obi-Wan and Anakin the early years..but I'm no story teller either..

Yes some of the acting is shite, yes some of the effects are CGI ridden, but thats just the way it is today. I really don't think they could of gotten away with using rubber puppets and stop motion now.
Yes I was gutted after watching TPM the first time......Gutted.

But once I got over the shock, I took it from a different point of view. By the time AOTC was released I actually quite liked TPM.
With AOTC I knew what I was getting. Not so much another prequel to the films I loved, but a sequel to a film I liked, alot.

I know this is just my opinion, but there are alot of people out there who like the new films (Jimbo) just as much as I love the OT.
To this day Empire still remains my fave film of all time, and probably will be my fave film till the day I die

I'm getting really hyped up about 3. From what I've seen and read (yes I'm a spoiler hound...not here though so don't worry) this film will make even the PT haters have goose bumps. It's the SW film we've been waiting 19 - 20 years for. This is the one.

For all it's faults, the new films are enjoyable enough.
I mean at the end of the day they are just bloody films.
No-one is making you watch them.

But I suppose if I had my way I would change them a little.....But hey, thats life!

Sorry, but I just loved Spidey 2.

As far as I can tell, there are too many villans for 3.
We have a potential Lizard, GG2, Venom?? fucking Man-Wolf (although this will probably be Venom) who else?!?! Doc Ock, we didn't reall see him die now did we!?!

I just hope they don't balls it all up!!

Fuck me, I came out of the cinema last night so much happier after watching this than any new Star Wars film or LOTR.

Well done all!!

This how you make good enjoyable films.

And Spidey swinging through the streets of New York is probably the best piece of film I've seen in a long, long time. Gave me goose bumps..The train fight....WOW.......

So bloody good!!!

Why can't they just stop at 3.

As far as I know all the lead players are only signed up for 3. Rami is onyl gonna do one more.
We don't want, what is turning out to be some of the best films I've seen in years, a piece of crap like bloody Batman.
3 films with Toby then the next one with someone else, then the next with someone else agian.

Have what is always best.....a nice trilogy!

You are all missing one big point here!!!

The Clones all sound the same because they all 'Grew' up in the same place. Had the same food, wore the same clothes, etc.
Boba Fett didn't. I take it after Jango died, Boba didn't return to Kamino (someone will have to correct me on this), so for the nest 20 years he was a loner........

So realistically his voice and everything else would be totally different to the Clones.

See the voice thing is just stupid.....It's realistic enough for Boba to lose his accent over the 20 years.
Jesus...you can pick up a accent in 6 months if you spend enough time in that particular environment........

I don't mind the changes too much, but the voice thing is the final straw...it's what made Fett so damn cool..."What if he doesn't survive, he's worth a lot to me"..."He's no good to me dead"...."Put captain Solo in the cargo hold"......it's never gonna be the same.

I mean I see your point, but like whoever it was who posted up there somewhere, maybe Jabba wanted to scare Solo himself....See maybe Solo and Jabba were quite close really......had some sort of respect for each other....so Jabba was a little upset that Solo fucked him over (even though not intentionally) so Jabba thought a little one on one might help sort the problems out!!

Good points but in regards to the Battle of Naboo..it is...'A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away'...not the near future as you said...so the Battle droids are from the old school of fighting....Think about it..It was the Nemodians (yes their mouths did look shit) who had them, so I geuss those stupid cowards programed them the wrong way..Thats what I think anyway...

But yeah, 1 & 2 aren't the best movies, and they sure as heck don't compare to the originals, but I like 'em, even if some parts do make me cringe beyond all belief.....

After years of watching these films the only things I've noticed are:

The R5-D4 thing - one minute he's there, the other he's not....


The one thing I've seen that not many have picked up on is...actually theres 2...is

in ESB......just after the heroes have escaped Cloud city and Vader is talking to his officers on the Star Destroyer...Piett and the dopey looking fuck are on about actvating the tractor beam...Well their medals on their outfits are on the wrong side..the Mirror thing again..

That also happens with Han and Lando in Jedi...When Han is talking to Lando about the Falcon...

But the thing I've noticed that not many people have is in Jedi........

When the Ewoks have hold of our heroes.....In the village when Luke is doing his levatating thing with 3PO...Watch R2...One minute he's tied up with ropes..then he's not, then he is agian...then he's set free by Teebo.....Thats the onyl real thing I've seen.......

Oh and also in Jedi........shit I've forgotten.....thats class A on a friday night for ya!!

My only real hate is the Shuttle in ESB...Ruins the flow and it really pissed me off...

So in 10 or 15 years time and old man Lucas is sitting at home bored shitless. So he comes up with the idea to fuck around with the Star Wars films again...and he changes alot of AOTC.....How would you feel, that the film you loved for so many years, suddenly chnaged to a bag of knob...how would you feel???

Yes Lando did make a deal with Vader, but that went tits up when he helped our heroes escape.
Also in regards to the troops on Tatooine, I'm sure once the Empire visits a planet, it stays there and keeps control. - Not too sure about that, but it's my geuss.

But Bespin, I'm pretty sure Vader did leave a garrisson(sp?) there..

Thats all........

And Jimbo....sorry mate, but you don't have a clue what Lucas is gonna do!!

I would like both versions, ain't gonna happen yet.
So I'm just happy that at last it's coming out on DVD.
I didn't mind the SE too much. I always wished I could change the films to make them look better. "Change this, clean that up, rub out the lightsaber shadow".
You see, now he's doing all these things, so I'm quite looking forward to seeing the clean, crisp, super-sounding Star Wars at home on my big TV and pukka DVD, while smoking a big fat joint!

I too would hope one day Lucas will release the films I first saw as a kid. I believe he will.
In 2007 - The super editions or whatever. All versions in one big size box set! - You wait and see.
