Changes in 2004 DVDs
Time
Look, all I have is crappy VHS. I have nearly every release of the VHS they released in the UK.
the only one I watch is the SE because it has a better pictuer and sound compared to all my othe copys. Even the versions I haven't watched (ISD BOXSET..No way, might get chewed up and that would really piss me off) are still shit next to the SE.
I for one can't wait to have it on DVD.
The changes are there, but really, they are no big deal.......to me!

Fuck me, as a kid, or more recently come to think of it, I always wished they cleaned up the special effects, made the lightsabers look better, get rid of boxes, matt lines, etc...So for me the DVD is pure joy...even if they have changed Boba fucking Fetts voice, but hey 3 lines in a film is no biggie!!!

We do have digital Wookiees!!!!!!!!!!!!

EP3: Digital Wookiees and Fight Scenes
Thu, Jul 29, 04 01:40:54 AM EDT

(os) Tonight we got news that the wookiees will rule Revenge of the Sith! OK, not really, but they do have a really cool scene they're filming in England right now. Here's some highlights of the new information.
Confirmation - DIGITAL WOOKIEES!
The actor that plays Tarfful is Michael Kingma. Kingma's movements not only define Tarfful, but will define all the digital wookiees in ROTS.

"The Wookiees in Revenge of the Sith will be realized through a combination of practical costumes and digital extras."

Also, we will see Wookiee extras are guiding in helicopter traffic, loading supplies on landing platforms, or barking orders to clones and Wookiees.

"In other cases, it's Wookiees leading troops into the fray, jumping out from behind cover and charging forward, or recoiling from a near miss of heavy ordnance."

Sounds like the wookiee is really going to shine in ROTS. Spies previously have shared pictures of the wookiee boats and a recent feature on starwars.com also featured plenty of Kashyyyk concept art that ties into this latest report. For more background, remember SPY REPORT: Death Becomes Them and SPY REPORT: Too. Many. Spoilers. Thanks to TinyTinyTony for the summary!
Did they really compare these scenes to Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart? Please be THAT good.

Do you seriously think that Joe average is going to shell out for new technology like this in two or three years time when DVD is plenty good enough quality for the average video consumer? Ain't going to happen this side of 2010 no way. IF theirs a new boxset in 2007 it will contain slightly altered prequels with the exact same versions of the sept OT release.

Exactly!

Not disrespectful man.
Listen, if you like AOTC best fair enough. I love ESb the best, but I don't tell you you're a twat for liking one film more than the other.
I'm glad you're so passionate about the film, shit I am about Empire. Just stop saying you're right and everyone else can go fuck themselves.

Jesus man, it's a discussion forum, not 'JIMBOS PLACE...SO MY OPION IS ALL YOU NEED TO HEAR'

Found this over at TF.N

Interesting......Dunno what it is, but it was under a spoiler warning!!!!

The moment Darth Vader wakes up from his slumber, and Anakin Skywalker truly is no more, the force will cease to exist in the land of the living. No more force sensitive children will be born... And all that will remain are those that had the gift before the dark times came, and managed to survive the first waves of the purge.
The last two force sensitive beings to come to existance, will be Luke and Leia, born mere seconds before their father's death... And the only survivors of the actual Jedi purge, that will go on for a great many years after the events of ROTS, are, as we all know, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The four of them survive, not to save the galaxy, but to save the man that will.

mmmmm

They did release alot of versions of SW on VHS, like you I bought most of them. But apart from being remasterd or whatever, they were basically the same film.
The point I'm trying really hard to make is, if Lucas wants us to see his vision, his version, he's not going to release a DVD now, then in 2 years release his version.

I'm not saying that they won't release another box set in 2 years, they probably will, but the films inside will be the same. Apart from the changes to episodes 1 & 2 that is, the Yoda thing an shit!!!

So the Bits have never been wrong about anything, ever? Not once.
Sorry man, but thats just bullshit mate.
Thats such an arrogant, ignorant point of view man.
No one or nothing is ever right all the time.

17 today and you still act like a fucking child. You need to grow a set man!!

You're right and thats that, jesus man, how you'll get by in life escapes me...

Good luck!!

But there were only 2 versions of LOTR, and spaced by only a few months. So if you wanted the extended version you just had to wait a couple of months or whatever.

I just don't think that the average punter is going to shell out all that money, to what will be slight, minor changes to a film they already own. Again, the average person couldn't care less about it.

Lucas wants people to see his version of the film.......Thats the point!! People aren't gonna see his version, if no-one buys it...no-one but the real hard core SW fans..

On the other hand, if the so called Archival editions had the original versions along with the september release, a few more people are gonna be interested and spend that kind of cash.
Only a few mind.
For instance, I like LOTR, and I bought the DVD when it was released, but I couldn't give a shit about the EE.
I ilke 'em but not that much.
Same for the dumb public. They like SW and are going to get the DVD, but they ain't gonna buy it again just coz there's a few 'extra' bits in it.

But fuck it, if they do release a special, special edition of SW, no doubt I'll be mug enough to spend the cash again.

Jimbo, I think you are wrong.........again

I went on about this a few posts ago.........

It doesn't make any sense to release another special edition.

Too many people are gonna buy this DVD in september, Lucas knows this, so this is the final version, the version millions of people are gonna buy, the version Lucas wants people to buy, the final version!

Not many people are gonna fork out £30-$60 dollars whatever, again in 2 years time.
It just doesn't make sense.
But no doubt you'll say I'm wrong and that yoare right!
