Watching them in their new order obviously ruins many surprises that the original trilogy has but it does contain new surprises instead. While it is clear that Anakin is heading in a bad direction it would still be a surprise to see just how much of a bad-ass he will end up being. It will also be a surprise to watch the Jedi go down big time in ROTS, and watching the main good guy Obi-Wan die midway through Episode 4. Other surprises hinge on how the script is for ROTS but (and I sincerely doubt it) he could actually keep the birth of Leia a secret, like you mentioned. If he does this then I would gain alot of respect for him because that will really help out his argument that the running order should be 1/2/3/4/5/6. Also he needs to have some action take place on Alderaan because then it would be a shock to see it destroyed in Star Wars. One final surprise he could do that would be nice is to leave the final outcome of Yoda in question so that although it wouldn't be shocking that the frog is a jedi warrior, it would at least be a surprise to see that he is still alive.
So basically if Lucas does it right I think both orders will have many surprises that seem very foreshadowed and obvious to us Star Wars veterans but will be cool for young people who haven't figured out exactly how fairy tales work. Also when watched in episode order each episode will be better than the one before it (cough, until Jedi that is).
Either way the original trilogy needs to be OFFICIALLY released on DVD yesterday!
Both Alderaan and Leia's birth are seen in 3.
I realy don't think that fat head Lucas is bothering to keep anything a secret anymore.

First he goes off with little Ani and destroys the Trade Fed ship.
Then maybe with older Ani in 3...dunno about that yet!!
Then again with Luke and blows up a Death Star!!
R2 must think how come he always ends up in the back of a space ship blowing things up!
And why doesn't R2 recognise Yoda in ESB.
I know we don't actually see then meet in the PT...yet!!!.....But he must know who Yoda is, and if he does, I doubt he'd be fighting over a lamp with the great Jedi Master!!
I dunno...we'll just have to wait for 3, and then we'll all see....Thats it from me!!....I need a pee........So I'm gonna climb a tree!!!

Exactly...I mean, in Jedi, we really didn't get to see his face untill he was in the Throne room. When he came off the shuttle, he was still masked by his hood!!
Might aswell have big neon lights telling everybody whos who now. We're not stupid Lucas, stop spelling everything out for us!!!

ps, dont forget the memory wipes..........if I lost me memory marbles I dont think i'd remember Tatooine either, but then again I can barely remember what I did 10 minutes ago! Ahhhhhhh the abuse of youth
Well it's gonna be shit anyway!

I hope not, but hey, really who's come out of the cinema the last 2 times feeling bloody fantastic. TPM......I could of cried like a baby. AOTC.....A little better but still not the real Star Wars.
I'm hoping for something real special this time round...Who knows ROTS (Didn't anyone in LFL pick up on that) may just be the one that saves SW.
Oh and the memory wipe thing...Yeah sure forgot about that, but if it does happen, will all his memory be wiped or just some of it. I mean, he'll have to get to know R2 all over again...And I think it's quite obvious that R2 doesn't have his memory erased!

I am indeed my man!!
Letchworth, Hertfordshire, UK -
And about Han and Vader thing, shit man, I used to think the exact same thing. If we are just talking about the movies then Han never really met Vader. True....
But if I remember correctly, in the old Radio drama (which I used to listen to all the time before we ever owned a vidoe player) there are a few lines which go to explain this. One part has Luke and Leia in the Falcon just after the Death Star escape, which has Leai telling Luke that the guy who chopped Ben in half was Vader, and Luke was like "oohh Thats who Vader is"..or some shit like that! There might have been some other shit with Han too, but I can't remeber. Anyway it don't matter coz it ain't the films, and thats what I base all my info on. EU...Blah!!

It's all to do with why 3PO doesn't reconise his home planet of Tatooine.
Imagine if you will, that for the last 20 odd years you having been flying around the Galaxy. When all of a sudden theres all this crazy fighting going on. The next thing you know, you've been shot through space in an escape pod, landing on some shit hole planet in the middle of a big fuck off desert. Is you first thought gonna be "I reconise this" no? Why would it. If I got dropped off the other side of this world in a jungle or desert, after flying around for 20 years, I certanally wouldn't think that the chances of landing on my own planet were very high.
So why would 3PO?
Who knows what will happen in ROTS - Rots...Lets hope it doesn't rots. Fucking rots...man!

Ships that blast off from Tatooine on your Death Star. Obi-Wan on your Death Star. It's a small Galaxy all of a sudden remember!
Shit, even I could work that out!

I know the real reason why Hayden appers as his younger self.
Some believe that when you die and go to heaven or what not, you can apper as a ghost when you felt happiest.
Ben died helping his freinds out in the Death Star, knowing he had found the 'new hope'. That's the only reason he spent all his life on Tatooine. His mission is complete. He's done his bit. He's redeemed himself for the Vader thing.
Yoda, simular in the way that the 'new hope' had made his way to Dagobah, with Yoda waiting all this time for Luke. Knowing that Luke is the only real way this shit will all end. So Yoda has done his bit aswell. Died a happy Yoda!
Then Anakin. Who died twice in a way. As old Anakin, he died happy. It was finished. They had won. With the help of his son, who up untill recently he thoght did not exist, (Maybe? - 3)his son had saved him. Killed that soab Palpatine and restored freedom to the Galaxy. But he also died once before. Was mureded by Darth Vader. When Anakin ceased to exist.
So why I say this change does actually make more sense is this, if you watch them in order 1- 6,......that is:
As ghost's we get to choose how we look. For Ani to look like his younger self is as simple as this, thats how everybody apart from Luke knew him when he was good. The duel that we'll see in 3, thats the last time Anakin Skywalker was ever seen. From then on he becomes Datrh Vader.
Only, when Luke saved him all he saw was this tired, sad looking old man.
So when Ani becomes a ghost, he chooses to look like the person they all knew and loved when he was still Anakin and not Vader.
Luke must know this too, so thats why he's smiling. He's happy at the thought of his dad having peace from now on.
Luke knows that he's done his bit too.........

No it did not before, but now it does. Back then it just meant finding a younger Ani. Unless you know why there's a younger Ani there in the fist place, you'd think, if you watched Jedi for the fist time, why the fuck is there a young Ghost?
But now after watching 3, you'll understand why.
And thats why Lucas is doing this. To quote "He's quite clever you know. For a human being".

See, you need the reason for this in the film. So then you'll know why Ben let VAder kill him. As well as other reasons of corse.

It's great. I don't watch the movies just in case, but all the trailers and extra stuff is just fantastic.
Thats what you get for living in the UK.

If its £30...you should go for it.
It cost about £80 when first released!

Another key ingredient is that Elizabeth Hand has Boba Fett continue to grow as a character. He takes a major step from being the boy we saw in Episode II towards the man we saw in the classic trilogy. He starts using his father’s armor, continues to wrestle with the fact that the Republic’s clones look like his father, and maintains his hatred of the Jedi. Boba even starts to form a surrogate family in Jabba’s Palace, thus explaining why he’d continue to hang out in such a dump.
