Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Great job Harmy!

At the final celebration the "fake soldiers" are more camouflaged with the flesh ones, they look more natural.... So great....I LOVE IT!

When I compared this shot with SW Despecialized 1.0, I saw a big difference between them. (WP2.3 Wins by KO!)

But not just that, I also noticed that the walls are slightly different. In SW DEED 1.0 there are plants on them... What was it? An adition of the SE that was missed?

I didn't know about it until now when I compared both of them.

You know guys, if you saw Mike Verta's shots from a 70's bulb projection of an original print, you know SW was in fact more "yellow" in the theatres in 1977. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's something Harmy is aiming to recreate as well.

Agreed.

With the new Verta shots to use as a reference, I trust Harmy to do an excellent job in achieving the "look" of the theatrical version.  Anyway, he already said the colors on the latest WP weren't final anyway and to be looking at the other aspects of the footage.

I just fear that the next mention of color or "skin tones" may send Harmy over the edge. :)

That's why I said it, because I understood it's still "a work in progress" project and Harmy said the colors were not finished yet.

Just tried to help, not to harm ;-)

I admit that I watched houndreds of times the '95 VHS tapes of GOUT, so maybe for my subconscious the right skin tones are more "pink"...

Probably the theatrical colors are more yellow, I don't know, Im not an expert.... So whatever will be the final result, I'll be 100% pleased with it :-)

About the color in my last post, I didn't try to frustrate you Harmy... just tryed to help.. Maybe I chose poorly my words " Just noticed that the color needs some heavy rework..." Im sorry about that partner... ;-)

I meant the clip looks in general wonderful, and all the GOUT inserts are perfectly done in it... but sometimes... only sometimes the skin tones are not as accurate as the SW V1 version... It's my opinion, but also my opinion is that you're doing a great job... and eveybody here (beginning with me) will be thankful for it forever. ;-)

Here are 3 examples of what I'm talking about comparing your 2 versions:

OK, here's the next half an hour of the WP:

http://www.uloz.to/12777696/deed-v2-0-wp2-2-mp4

It's basically a continuation of the 2nd WP and shows the Death Star sequence. Because it's not the whole film from the beginning, I decided to use a hardcoded timecode. Also, the colours are not final, I'd like you to focus on any technical errors if you can.

Downloaded & watched!... Well I didn't detect anything obvious.

All the "despecialized inserts" seems fine to me... Just noticed that the color needs some heavy rework (but you already mentioned it)

To me sometimes skin tones looks very yellow and other times very brown....

Congratulations Harmy. I'm sure the final version it's gonna be awesome!

Info Wanted: Greedo/Jabba subtitle text in other languages?
Time

CatBus said:

OK got all my answers.  FWIW all languages except French are okay to use leading ellipses as far as I can tell, so I'll follow that rule regardless of what the burned-in subs did in those languages.  And all languages including French can italicize ship names.

If you want the castillian spanish subtitles for the GOUT, (regular and forced) let me know. Because I converted them from the DVD's to srt format 23,976 fps to use them for the Harmy's despecialazed releases and they work flawless... ;-)

In the English subs for Greedo/Jabba, they include leading ellipses for continued dialog.  As below in the second subtitle:

He has no time for smugglers...

...who drop their shipments at
the first sign of an Imperial cruiser.

What I want to know is, for other languages (specifically: German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese), do they also use leading ellipses in this way?  Would it be incorrect style to use leading ellipses in any of these languages?

Thanks.

If with leading ellipses you mean the 3 dots :-)

In Spanish is correct but at the end of the sentence, not in the begining.

He has no time for smugglers...

...who drop their shipments at
the first sign of an Imperial cruiser.

was translated:

No tiene tiempo
para los contrabandistas...

que sueltan la carga
en cuanto ven un crucero imperial.

That's some sexy lightsaber action!

Is the remote's laser really supposed to be completely yellow? I thought it was red with a yellow core.

100% Yellow my friend. Here is a screenshot taken from a DVD of the Star Wars LD "The Definitive Collection"

I've tested Ady's TPM on two different blu-ray setups (stand alone and computer) and it will play video for about 2 seconds, then the screen will get distorted and "freeze" for 2 seconds, repeat.

The other AVCHD's don't do this.

Try to burn it again, maybe it's the disc... My copy it's tested and it seems ok

The William Conrad narration is intact. However, a slim bar of discoloration on the lefthand side of the frame indicates that this vintage doc is from a video master and not a film transfer.

Thanks for the info!

If anybody else is looking for individual discs, here's another Ebay seller breaking up a set. Has 100% positive feedback too.

Anyone knows a store to buy just that 97 SE Silver pressed DVD's bootlegs?

Ady Superb work, A million thanks as usual! :-)

Awaiting now that SE ROTJ restoration, I'm sure it will be wonderfull!

But now that this project it's about to end. There's a question that comes to my mind.

Now that the AOTC Blu-Ray it's been released with the color fucked (as everybody knows a it's a bit turned to green)

Will be any chance in the future to recover the AOTC project and release it in proper way with the original color corrected?

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

Yesterday I watched ROTJ DEED!!!! Oh Boy!!!

Harmy THANKS, THANKS, THANKS and a billion time THANKS for this masterpiece!!!

I specially freaked out with the Sarlacc scenes, they were just PERFECT!

I only noticed at the beginning the imperial uniforms a little bit green in comparision with the GOUT DVD's... But that's being picky because the color of the entire movie it's just AWESOME!
