I made encodings with g-force's script to stabilize the GOUT a few years ago.

One movie took about one week to encode. The encoding time was estimated for 2 weeks, but it took one week finally.

For ANH I started the encoder, travelled for vacation to spain and when I was back at home I had the first movie encoded!

you were lucky you didn't have a blackout at home! lol

As you've reworked that entire shot, how about fixing the shadow, too?

Totally, I can get behind this. Harmy, while you're at it I also think you should put Liam Neeson's ghost behind some rocks when Obi Wan first meets Luke. Nothing too gaudy but if he can just peek out a little bit that'd be a cool nod to the prequels and would help tie everything together. It's also probably a little too much but if you could manage it I think you should digitally enhance Vader's visible bulge, nothing too extreme but at least a triple sock ball. Prowse was kind of known for his tiny package and it didn't really ever jive with James Earl Jones' voice. If you could just blow it out a little, really make the bulge pop, I think it'd be way better overall.

In fact that's how SW was conceived, 77 theatrical was the first SE! lol

... I have left spanish subtitles synchronized with your releases. I'm working on subtitles for ROJ.

Thanks again :)

Don't bother on that pal, harmy already has all the spanish subtitles syncronized (GOUT DVD's source) I gave them to him some months ago ;-)

Mediafire sounds pretty good. A 200mb limit is unfortunate, especially for a 25GB BD but it's not impossible.

I was also thinking, how difficult would it be to create a sort of a Blu-Ray skeleton, so that people who have the MKV (which will have the same video stream for the main movie as the BD) could simply download that and then mux it together to create a fully functioning BD?  Would that be possible?

If mediafire speed is good, 200mb it's not so bad... ;-) Specially for the AVCHD project.

Tsmuxer can convert a mkv file into a BD or AVCHD in minutes, for an emergency solution it's ok, but just to make a disc without menus.

By the way, I'm downloading WP3 reel 2 right now! Can't wait to watch it!! The pics of Luke in Tatooine looks fantastic!

What you, Harmy, could do is to encode the video stream using settings for BD compliancy. You can also take this video stream and mux it straight into mkv. You'll only need to make two encodes then, one for BD and mkv and the second one for AVCHD (both 2pass ideally).

If you want to use lossless audio then you'll be somewhat limited when it comes to formats. Bluray only supports LPCM, DTS-HD and TrueHD.

That's exactly what I was thinking about doing. I'll do the MKV (around 15GB for the video stream and with BD compliant settings) and then when I'm done designing the menus and putting together all the sound and subtitle files I want to include and possibly some bonus features, I'll just use the same stream for the BD.

Sounds great!. The AVCHD will be an appetizer :-)

Just for info. Is it going to include the BD foreing audio tracks and subtitles or just multiple english tracks?

The one shot, though, that really bugs me is the Tantive shot that OMEN posted earlier:  http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/107151   The difference in color-tone here between these two shots is pretty jarring, and it definitely took me out of the scene.

I detected too a little difference in color-tone in the middle of this transition

It is less than a second but I don't know maybe it's easy to fix

Harmy If it requires a lot of your time, just forget it .... I think I'm the only one who saw it. :-p

Cobra kai I think you're not the only one obsessed with this project!! We are all nuts here!! hahah... lol

@Hostmaster: It's of course going to be in one piece, like V1, this was just a bit of a joke, which I'm a bit surprised no one commented on before :-)

What a relief!! for a moment I thought it was going to be released with  separation marks... :-)

Look at those reactions, I'm glad I do it for me to like ;-)

Whether you like the colours or not will always boil down to personal preference, that's why I stick close to my source - some of the colours seemed weird to me at first too but I came to like them and now wouldn't want them any other way.

I'm Sure most of us never watched Star Wars in that way... and sometimes it's weird for us, because we're used to the versions released in VHS, DVD, etc..

But if you're working with a reliable source... You have all our blessings!

Just a question Harmy,  The final movie Is it going to be in one piece? or is it going to be divided by reels? (with the separation marks we saw in the promo clip)

I asked it, because if it's finally with the separation marks and we want to insert later with tsmuxer the dubbings or the subtitles from the GOUT DVD's it's going to be complicated to syncronice them...

About the entire DEED_WP3R1 clip... wov man! It's awesome, everytime it's getting better!!!

Yeah, it's a whole matte painting, which was completely changed in the SE, not just the soldiers in the foreground but also the walls, the window and about half of the soldiers in the room.

I am now encoding WP3 reel one. Here's a little promo from it :-)

This time I LOVE the colors, hehe... Final version???

WP2.3 looks like it uses a lot more of the GOUT image - if there is any '04/'11 footage in there, it looks like Harmy reduced the quality to make it blend better with the GOUT stuff. Seems like a good compromise.

Or maybe it's the encoding (it's an mp4) ;-)

But definitely it looks much better than SW DEED 1.0
