Interesting. This is the first time being red/green colourblind has led me to not be able to tell the difference in one of these.

If the corrections on ANH and ESB are anything to go by, I'm sure it's great, though.

Love Ady's stuff. Really excited about his corrections and tweaks to Empire, and loved his Star Wars. For me, I think fundamentally changing the ending if Jedi this way (and I truly think that is what is happening here) is a massive mis-step, and since he's always welcomed people's input so that was my 2p.

But y'know what, it's no big deal. I simply won't download his Jedi: Revisited, and I'll continue to enjoy his stellar work on New Hope and Empire and my personal canon will be SW:R, ESB:R and the original Jedi.

Or (as will likely happen), I'll edit the 2004 Lando/MF ending back into the otherwise tweaked ROTJ:R and have my own 'just for me' edition.

I think at the end of the day, no matter how much one disagrees with Ady on this one (and I really do), there's always a way to please yourself without throwing your toys out of the pram.

Agree with the above (perhaps "LOCAL HERO TO WED" would be more like an actual headline). It acts as a nice segue into the next scene, and is snappy enough to read in the brief shot.

BTW, I see Frank Marshall has just confirmed Indy 5 is at the development stage.

Hopefully there will be less fan-editing to do on this one. ;)

I don't have any real issue with it Hayden being in at the end there, but I do have a hell of a problem with the creepy-ass look on his face.

Man.. What I wouldn't give for hi res versions of those.

I was really disappointed with the openign credits when I first saw the movie one year ago. I really expected the Indy font like you did on this frame.

See... I'd have been disappointed if we'd had the Indy logo font (as above), rather than the font used in Crystal Skull, Raiders and Crusade. I like the continuity of it. Temple is the only film which uses the logo.

Interestingly, I also think we have as situation where we're sometimes looking for 'fake looking' CGI, and filling in the fakenes ourselves on a subconscious level. The thing that springs to mind is the locking mechanism near the end of Indiana Jones 4. I remember being pretty disappointed at what I thought was shoddy CGI work on that when I saw it at the cinema. It was only months later that I saw the making of, and found out it was a practical effect. Sometime knowing (or just thinking) something is CGI is enough to blow the effect, when actually it's more than adequate.

Should it, thought? If you rephrase that, to "it seemed more concentrated on Endor than the struggle the Rebel fleet" it seems entirely the right decision. At least in the context of the narrative of the OT, given that none of the major trilogy characters are in the rebel fleet (the only characters who have even appeared in the previous filsm are Lando - who is B-list when it comes to characters, and Wedge  - who's role is little more than turning up a lot). If the OT story is the story of Han, Luke and Leia, and to a lesser extent R2 and 3PO (and I'd suggest that it is), the rebel assault is happening in the background for the most part is the correct decision. It's happening in the background for our lead characters too. Yeah, there's too much ewok, but the stories being told by our characters are Luke aboard DS2, and the rest of our heroes attempting to get the shield down. I'd worry that stronger focus on the rebel fleet will take the focus away from the story of the central characters- who, at the end of the day, are what we all loved about the OT, and what made it successful. More whizz pop in space, drawing focus away from the character stories seems an oddly PTish editorial decision.

Actually, I agree with Sojourn. Outside of the fan community (and to some extent within it), the 2004 DVDs were very well received at the time. The reaction to the quality of the "bonus" original versions were the only ones universally derided.

-Tried making Anakin a likeable guy.

-I've removed the first part of the Palpy office scene thinking (*IF* it should even be used) it could be moved to later in the film.

-Oh! And why the hell does Palpy have to be behind EVERY plot point?! I've removed any sort of reference to that.

-I still don't know what to do with the Jedi and Padme conversation...

A minor thing, but I'd lose "who's trying to kill you" in the apartment scene, to avoid unnatural conversation repetition.

I have to agree there. The holo was superfluous, but looked phenomenal. The cutaway is kinda distracting and serves no real purpose.

Even if there's no display, the glow from the info screens on the dash is well worth Ady considering.

Whilst that does risk being a superfluous change, it does look frickin' awesome. I'd love to something like that in Ady's cut if only for the cool factor.
