Well I can only speak for myself, but if Chewy is dead come Episode VII? I think his characters demise warrants a little more explaining than just a passing comment from Solo. I think he'll be alive and well, and maybe if Solo gets bumped off (as Ford wants) then the Wookie wiil more than likely be alongside him if/when it does.
