Ok I must apologise if my opinions have come across as being overly aggressive on this question (especially to Gaffer). I do agree with the make up point. Less is more in my eyes. And if a woman chooses not to shave her legs and armpits then good luck to them. I can only speak from experience from the relationships I've been in. And that is the women have opted themselves (without any harangument from me) to regularly shave their legs and armpits (plus other areas lol) basically because not that they feel they have to but because thy want to. It's what they like and it makes them feel feminine. One particular girl I was seeing a few years ago hardly ever wore make up at all, and when she did it was very minimal.

Well that's entirely up to them as individuals. If, lets say, a girl of portly stature wants to wear a figure hugging skirt? Then she should fill her boots. Ill have my opinion of that, wether you agree with it or not. As for girls who chose not to shave their legs and then display them? I can't comment because I've never known such a girl. Sorry.

You feel comfortable wearing a dress. Ok so what sort of a dress? A big flowery frock maybe? A tight, figure hugging above the knee type number? In a place I worked at a few years, there was a bloke who dressed strangely. He had the Mohican haircut, ear piercings, nose piercings, tattoos. Everything about him said interesting. And over 5 years of getting to know the man I came to the conclusion, that he was as dull as dishwater. I've encountered more interesting farts than this bloke. So why did he chose to dress the way he did? Was it the music he listened to? Was he trying to compensate for his lack of personality? From what I gather the statement your making is 'I don't care what you think is regarded as normal, I'm going to wear what I please.' Well that's going to shake the foundations of society isn't it?

of course they don't look silly, they're women.

Actually I think most of the women in the hot women thread look silly and somewhat uncomfortable

but it's just clothing.

Yikes! Her back must hurt.

Warbler, a lot of men now wear earrings, something that was traditionally worn by women (although it was also worn by men in the past). It doesn't matter whether the man is gay, straight, bi, asexual or whatever, that has become a social norm that people have come to accept. But why should something like that get a pass, whereas me wearing lipstick, skirts and dresses not?

I guess wearing an earring is not as obvious as wearing a dress.

What if I wore a really tiny dress then??

All depends. Are you a terrifically figured attractive young woman? Or a fat, middle aged slob of a man?

None of the above... well, besides the "young" and "man" parts.

So are those my only options for wearing a tiny dress? :(

Well, on that basis alone. If you were to wear one say, in ordinary every life. Like going to the shops or work or a job interview for example? What statement would you be trying to make? Excluding the 'I'm different from everyone else because I'm an extrovert and what I wear is testament to me as a person because I don't let my personality differentiate me from everyone else rather its what I choose to dress myself in that separates me.' ?

Thanks guys,

Ryan....yep thats the Stap, I got that model cheap in a sale, had no intention to build the kit with the Droid on it, perhaps scratching a rifle like you said you'd done, but its still in a box somewhere......the Stap on the other hand was the part that I thought I'd throw out, but I've managed to salvage the majority of it for other projects, it has been more useful.

Hey, it's me....The Star Destroyer/Falcon has been shelved for a while, my tastes & experience have changed. I do have other ideas for this ship.....but it still will be pointy, maybe with a central cockpit, like the Star Destroyer......hmmm

J

I will admit its an interesting idea, and the central cockpit would be cool. Love the idea of the four port propulsion.

I always had it in my head that the 'Who are you?' voice was of either an Imperial officer or a Stormtrooper with his helmet off......maybe eating sandwiches

This all the way! When 3PO says "No, please don't get up.." I can see a trooper standing, dropping his meatball sub and grabbing his blaster.

Either that or 3PO interrupts 2 troopers mid conversation, "I told them to go easy with the mayo" Door opens.

^Sarongs, kilts and grass skirts are already sold in mens clothing shops.

And a large minority of people dabble in 'trannywear' for a variety of reasons, some having a laugh, some because the clothes feel comfortable, some because they just want to or because they are transgender.

And these things do change.

The hair of men and women has gone through cycles of acceptability, beards for men once seen as practically mandatory are now practically banned by some employers, in the past only labourers wore jeans now anyone can.

I can't see skirts ever becoming unisex attire. Hairy legs do not suit skirts and men haven't got hour glass figures. A skirt is designed to show off the natural curves of a woman's body. The same way as a tailor made suit from Saville Row is designed to fit a mans physique. If some bloke wants to walk around in a skirt, I can't see what contentious point they're trying to make? Other than 'I'm different from everyone else' which is crap in my eyes because your inner personality is what makes you different. Not what the opinion of a bunch of strangers who don't truly know you think when they pass you in the street.

Where were you in '83? ROTJ 30th anniversary 5/25/83-5/25/13
Time

Leicester Square Odeon. 8 years old and had taken the day off school to go and see it with my dad (who'd taken the day off work). Bloke dressed in Vader outfit patrolling the queue outside the main entrance scaring the crap out of the kids and making the adults laugh. Also recall my father taking me to Hanleys (massive toystore in London) afterwards and buying me some Star Wars stuff. Can't remember exactly what but I was happy! Great memories.

Yes I'd love to recreate the hanger shot Ryan, & maybe a Ps image of it from above with the stormies around it......hmmm

I have a bit of a thing about the Millennium Falcon.....I've got a few Falcon projects going on at the minute......the main one is the MPC/Ertl kit....I took a break from that kit in March to work on the Revell RMQ Falcon (Scale Model Addict Big Spring Contest, which ran for 3 months...was supposed to finish on Friday night but has been extended by a week)

I have been working on the MPC/Ertl kit since Feb 2012, it is based on the 5 foot filming model from Star Wars (ANH)

Heres roughly where I was when I took a break:

The thread here:

A couple of videos of it:

Vid 1

Vid 2 Engine Lights

I've also got the FineMolds 1/72 which I've hacked off the Mandibles to correct a flaw in FineMolds measurements....

The mandibles now have a slight toe-in

Another wee project is with another Revel easy kit

Sort of mashing the Falcon design with Star Destroyer/AOTC Jedi Starfighter:

.......enough of this Falcon fetish

J

Just a personal preference, but that Falcon/destroyer hybrid thing is a big no no. Other than that, hats off.

I've been wearing skirts in public for 7 years now.  :D

why?

It might help to ask why do people who don't run for exercise or play sport wear trainers or jogging bottoms or perhaps more relevantly why do women wear skirts in public?

Skirts cover modesty and are functional clothing (in some situations more so than trousers) so if a woman feels comfortable wearing one why not a man?

Ok look. Skirts, in all shapes and sizes (mini skirts or just below the knee skirts) do not appear in the unisex department in a clothes store. If a man is seen wearing any form of skirt it usually tends to be them out having a laugh (repleat with dodgy make up, wig and high heels etc) rather than it being a form of casual dress. And offcourse women can wear trousers. Be it jeans or as part of a ladies trouser suit. Which, incidentally, can look very smart on a lady and very attractive. Seeing a man in a skirt is about as attractive as a pair of hob nail boots. And don't come at me with the kilt or grass skirt argument, because that is a form of traditional and cultural attire from a nations history which is not prevalent in modern times. I personally don't think even a gay man would wear a skirt purely out of dignity. There a forms of attire that are specifically related and designed for the sexes. And skirts, along with high heels and blouses etc are for women. Just the way it is. Somethings will never change...lol :-D (love that tune)
