Horrizontal - so, 2K is 2048x1080, so only slightly higher than 1080p, which is 1920x1080.

Worst case scenario, I'll do some research and get a different mobo in the future. But I really hope it won't be necessary.
I would of course try to return this one, because if it can't take four sticks of RAM, it clearly doesn't work as it should.
Did that, didn't work.

Other than that BIOS battery trick, I would have said to make sure to drain whatever capacitance was left in the mobo by unplugging the power then depressing the power switch for a few seconds. I've fixed a few odd issues that way (some of which BIOS updates did address what caused the problems).
That was the very first thing I tried ;-)
As for the RAM not working, is it exactly the same as the first set? If not, what are the differences (speed, timings, size, brand, etc.)? Also, have you tried putting in JUST the new RAM, to see if it is a conflict between the mix of old and new RAM (rather than an incompatibility between the new RAM and your mobo, or just bad RAM).
Yeah, I'm going to try that tomorrow. But the new RAMs should be exactly the same as the old ones - I even used the same link to order them. But I'm hoping a BIOS update will take care of it - my friends said he was reading up on it and it seems with older BIOS versions, this mobo had some trouble having all the RAM slots filled, so hopefully they fixed the issue in the upgrades.
EDIT: I just looked it up and it seems this is a problem typical for this mobo:

The thread is from almost a year ago, so I'm kinda hoping that they have since released an update taking care of it.
Awesome news! I got it to work! I tried restoring BIOS settings by removing the battery yesterday and it didn't work but then I left the battery out all night and now it works, so it was a BIOS issue, it seems.
Only it still doesn't work with the new RAM, so my friend is still coming tomorrow and we'll be trying to figure it out, maybe a BIOS update will help, but it's definitely not dead! Hurray!
Well, mine was running perfectly until I put in the additional RAM and then it just died completely - it doesn't even beep. I tried every trick in the book but it's just dead. I really hope it's just the motherboard. I'm hoping I will be able to get a new board through warranty but these things can take weeks.
I ordered a thingy to connect internal HDDs through USB, which should arrive today, so that I can try out the HDDs on my laptop and find out if all the data is intact, which is the most important thing.
I'm sorry, I've been trying to deal with this the whole afternoon and really don't feel like going into it again. The important thing is, that I'm pretty sure the data on the HDDs are safe, so hopefully, once I get it sorted, I can jump right back in where I left off.
OK, guys - don't expect any releases any time soon, because my computer just died :-(
It's probably the motherboard but it's hard to tell, so a friend of mine, who works in I.T. will come on Wednesday to try and find out but it's definitely gonna take some time to sort this out :-(
No.
Now, I've got all the foreign tracks and the English mono-track from CatBus, now I just need the other English mixes.
Oh and is there any chance someone has that starwars.com web commentary for ESB?
As another example of why I need someone else to handle the audio for me, I just watched an entire episode of Sopranos with 5.1 sound without realizing that I had the left and right front speakers disconnected the whole time :-D This happened to me before with Star Wars but I had only the rear speakers on and didn't realize until C-3P0 was supposed to speak his first line, which of course would have come mainly from the center speaker, which was disconnected, so I watched the entire titles, crawl and the first three shots with Tantive IV and the stardestroyer without ever realizing that the sound was only coming from the rear speakers :-D
I'm sure they could, I'm not sure they will. But that's what Mike Verta's project is for - use the best available elements to restore the movie to perfect condition and then lock it up in a vault for foreseeable future ;-)
Well, I never released any checksums for the AVCHD, so if you've got the AVCHD and you're trying to compare its checksum with one found anywhere in this thread or on tehparadox, then you're sure as hell not gonna get the results you're looking for.
Yeah, I do plan to release an MKV as well as an AVCHD.
Which reminds me, I'm going to need the latest versions of the audio tracks in both DTS-HD for the MKV and AC3 for the AVCHD, so if someone could get me those I'd be very grateful. Did anyone ever sync Puggo's 16mm mono track to the GOUT?
I don't really see anything wrong with that. The person I remember being banned for this deleted all his posts from entire long conversations - I think it's ok to delete one post before anyone even reacts to it.
To keep my post on topic, how did you guys go about doing the 97SE subtitles? Did you have any theatrical reference?
Oh, I forgot to thank everyone, who sent additional donations! I got enough, so that I should be able to buy the additional RAM when I get my salary this month.
All those who donated will be added to the credits of all my following projects of course.
Cool, thanks for the info :-)
So, what about the other two soundtracks on the '97SE, are they encoded from the theatrical DTS as well?
Oh, that one, yeah, that's old, I thought you were talking about the last workprint, which has this section in it but with redone colors. I PMed you guys the links for the right one.
I never made any adjustments to the Tarkin picture besides the resizing. But the picture posted here recently is a heavily compressed version of the original picture, which I can't find either.
Also, looking at those pictures CatBus posted, especially switching between them at full resolution, you can definitelly see a difference in sharpness on a big screen but not really in detail - I almost find the 720p ones more pleasing to the eye, because they have all the detail but they don't look so artificially sharpened.
The difference would of course be even less perceivable in movement.

Welcome to the forum :-)
Covers made for the Despecialized set by me can be found here:

Could you please reupload these, I love them but the link is not available anymore.
Here they are: http://uloz.to/xqJEdUTk/deed-v1-0-covers-rar
:-)
I'm pretty sure the link still works.
OK, guys, here's a workprint of another half hour of the movie (the 3rd half hour, from which the last clip came). I'll be glad of any feedback:

Hey guys - congratulations on finishing the first third of this awesome project!
I only had the chance to skim through it so far but it looks great! You've certainly come a long way here since 2006! I really like what you've done with the 97SE too and it's great that there's finally a project with the DTS audio connected to it.
Oh yeah, I tried pulling the detail for that out of the separate color channels but it was blown out in all of them.
Poita, would you please take a look at my 1st hour workprint and tell me if the feel of the colors seems close to the prints you've seen? I'll PM you the link :-)
Not quite - I didn't really stick to the GOUT super closely or anything - there are so many different sources and none of them definitive, that to me it seems best to just look at a few to get a general idea of what the sequences should look like and then do something that has the same feel to it.
