That would actually be pretty cool :D
That would actually be pretty cool :D
Why do I have to keep repeating myself? THE SOUND IS VERY MUCH TEMPORARY - the is no music yet, except where it plays a direct role in what is being said or shown (or where it was already finished from the old Sources Doc).
@Tobar: The "drowned music" example is essential, because it's not about the sound effects but about the score (two different Oscar wins being disrupted).
Good point about the thesis though.
@pitpawten: Yeah, it's more about this staying a fan effort.
I did not buy the Raiders DVD - it was crap. I did buy the BD though, where everything was back to the way it was originally, including the color timing. The only change on the BD is the cobra reflection having been erased and it does bother me a lot - I'd love for it to be there.
Yeah, I don't like that idea either.
If they only made the colors of the sabers consistent, while keeping the original look of the compositing, I wouldn't be too upset - but then, they were far more consistent in the original, then they are in either the DVD or BD versions.
And I would outright refuse to buy that crap, if they erased the matte-lines.
OK, first of all - please catch up on what was posted over the last couple of weeks (from pg.487 and mainly this post) before posting comments.
Second of all - I am quite happy with Mavimao's narration but I guess our voices are similar enough for people to think it's me doing the narration, which is definitely something I'd very much like to avoid because then it has the effect that MoiseMust talked about, so I'm very sorry Mavimao (I really am, because you were very helpful and I really appreciate it) but your services will no longer be required.
So, I guess female would be ideal but I think pitpawten's voice is also different enough from mine for the difference to be clear enough. What do you guys think?
NO! This is unfinished and I only post it here for feedback and definitely don't want it posted outside of this forum, least of all YouTube!
No, they are definitely not upscales - the BDs come from the same master as the 2004 DVDs - the 2004 DVD master was done in 1080p and some HDTV stations did broadcast it in 1080i, so those are native HD (high quality HDTV captures are now available on myspleen).
And there were native HD broadcasts of LOTR as well but only TTT was shown in the EE version - so the EEs found online were usually 1080p for the theatrical scenes and DVD upscales for the extended scenes.
The narration is not me, which you would know, if you bothered to read the last few pages. I think I'll need a woman to do the narration for me, so it's like super-clear, that it's not me talking.
Here's a more polished version of the Introducing the DeEd doc:

I cropped it and resized to 720p to make the file size smaller, as it is still just a demo and the sound is still very much temporary and there may still be some tweaks to the video (I'm still open to suggestions here, guys).
And the chair too!
This is just weird - where the hell did the extra frame come from? I mean, I had it side-by-side with GOUT video in the project.
But yeah, if there is an extra frame at the beginning, it should be easy to remove in the next version.
Won't that recode the audio? And wouldn't it be easier to set the delay in MKV Merge/TS Muxer anyway?
Did you notice any delay?
Wow, that's awesome!
Is the PAL GOUT of by that one frame?
You'll find some answers in the description of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHfLX_TMduY
Yeah, I answered a few of her questions over the phone and then I sent her the video I posted recently and a lot of useful links, like some of the savestarwars.com articles and stuff :-)
That's strange - when I put the ESB MKV in TS Muxer, the chapters work perfectly fine. But either way, here are the chapter times I used for ESB:

If someone felt like responding to those "it's already on VHS/LD/DVD" cooments, here's a tool for you:
Well, these are not so bad - some people are simply ignorant to picture quality and good for them after all, I wish I could still enjoy the movie on VHS, like I used to but the fact is, I got used to watching movies in HD and the bad quality just becomes a big distraction - for the most part, I can't even stand watching DVDs any more.
Plus, a lot of the comments are positive and it's good to see, that even a lot of people, who aren't huge Star Wars geeks do know about this issue and want the original version.
Well, I've never been able to tell the difference so far but what I really meant was, using this equipment, should the difference be more noticeable through those headphones than through those speakers?
Well, I'll take all the better sources I can get but right now, the Sarlacc pit scene isn't really the priority to me, because it's probably the best despecialized scene of all v1.0s - there are a couple of shots I'd like to have better sources for there too but the eyebrows and Lapti Nek definitely take precedence for v2.0.
What about headphones? I mean I know these also vary greatly in quality and price but for example, I have this audio card, these pretty cheap head-phones and these fairly old speakers (although their previous owner swears they play as well as the day he bought them). Should the difference be clearer in the headphones? Plus, I'm not even sure whether, when playing in MPC-HC I'm actually hearing the lossless audio at all, or just the core, now that I think about it. But I do have some music in FLAC, should I be able to hear the difference from an average mp3 there?
Also, can someone give me the time-code of where the missing crash is in DeEd? I'd like to check it out too :-)
I'm really not sure - on the other hand, since from my understanding, all official releases of the mix contained those glitches, they are basically a part of the '93 mix, so if you want the same mix glitch-free, just use the stereo mix, which, according to hairy_hen, is an identical mix, with the exception of one speeder crash sound, which is missing in the '93 mix - so the '93 mix is basically jus a buggy version of the original stereo, which is why I decided to only add an AC3 version of it.
