well who said fixing problems affects the true story of starwars? i wasnt saying add stuff i was only suggesting to maybe fix certain things in the original movie eventually. lets face it theres lots of incorrect problems with the visuals in the original trilogy.
Yes and those problems can be for other projects to fix - the aim of this project is and always has been and always will be to recreate the original version as closely as possible - I don't know why we're even talking about this...
Is this the case with all three films?
Beyond the scope of this project isn't quite right - more like completely against the spirit of it.
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't say that ROTJ would be done soon - it could be a month, it could be a year but it definitely won't be like next week or something.
Punctuation, you must learn punctuation!
Really? All the Despecialized Editions are in letterboxed 720p for example.
OK, I have to say, that episode 4 was really good. There were still a couple of cringe-worthy moments but over-all I liked it a lot.
And I finally saw an episode in good 1080p and I have to admit, that I may have misjudged the quality of the rendering because I saw the previous episodes in pretty bad quality (720p but highly compressed). I still maintain, that I liked the visual style of TCW better but it's definitely not as bad as I thought it was.
The previews are really impressive! Can't wait to get my hands on the final files!
If hairy_hen is synching the sound to NTSC, then I'll be using NTSC.
I vote yea!
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Actually, I'm not sure yet but I will be using Puggo's transfer as a reference and I'm fairly sure that there will be some timing differences from v1.0, which I think used the DVD subs for timing reference.
Oh, right!
So, I was thinking while I'm waiting for the footage, maybe I could put the cut together and start color correcting, so I'd like to ask, what specific frame differences are there between the NTSC GOUT and PAL GOUT of ROTJ? In other words, what do I have to do to make sure the movie stays in sync with the audio preservations the whole time?
Well, we did see him A) die and B) appear as a ghost, so I would say he's pretty dead.
Thanks :-)
Star Lord, maaan...!!!
You're right.
Oh, I see.
You're right of course, animation is the movement of the characters and stuff, which is actually fine for the most part - the closest to describing what it is that bothers me about the look of the show is probably "rendering" - the whole thing looks like a cheap video game. Plus the design of some of the characters is pretty uninspired.
There's actually over 20 minutes, possibly half an hour worth of footage changed in the first movie alone.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong thread.
Well, I always said that the Fox argument was hogwash, so this is no surprise to me. Plus there has been talk of a digital release of the Star Wars films for quite a while now.
I'm sure there will be a BD release of the complete season. I agree though, I wouldn't buy a DVD anymore - same reason I never bought the 1st three season of How I Met Your Mother, even though I love them.
