STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Yeah, I couldn't edit lossless AVI in a million years. My computer can't even properly play lossless AVI in 1080p, let alone edit. It's sometimes anoyingly slow even when editing compressed video and Vegas crashes all the time when I attempt doing anything even remotely demanding on the CPU...

Lord of the Rings - TTT and ROTK "REFORGED" edit... (* cancelled project * - drive failure)
Time

Sorry, didn't get round to encoding the SD workprint to post but TTT is basically finished, I managed to cut it down to 3hrs 30m in PAL, so after returning the framerate to 23.976fps it should be around 3hrs 40m, which is about the original lenght of the EE, so that's fine. I hope to watch it today or tomorrow and if everything's OK, I'll be encoding and uploading soon.

THE STAR WARS SAGA - 1080P AVCHD DVD-9 for PS3 & Blu-Ray players - Episodes 1, 4 & 5 available now

I partly agree with both of you guys, on one hand OT.com shouldn't become a STAR WARS branch of pirate bay, on the other hand we should try and get as many people to join and sign the petition as possible. And it's not like they can get the links here, just to let people know about the possibility of getting something better than what is thown at us by LFL.

AVC video decoding problem
Time

How do I switch to using CoreAVC? I am of course using MPC-HC, forgot to say that. But I don't think it is a cpu/memory problem, for one it didn't always do it, I've had the computer for 2yrs and it just started doing this a few days ago. And I checked and while playing a 1080p AVCHD in MPC-HC the cpu is at about 15-25% and memory is at 900MB out of 2500...

AVC video decoding problem
Time

I've got a problem with AVC video decoding. Whenever I play an AVCHD format video (and possibly others as well but I'm not sure,) artifacts like this appear for a few frames every now and then (it ranges from once in 10 minutes to every 30 seconds):

The artifacts are not encoded in the video as when I go back and play the same shot again it plays flawlessly.

I have KLM Mega codec pack installed and use Media Player Classic for playback (but the artifacts appear in VLC and WMP as well).

I tried installing a new version of just about everything and it still does this.

Well I was actually there at Celebration

I was able to catch a good chunk of ANH. First of all, the quality of the footage was amazing. Brilliant definition. It was projected onto a huge digital screen and it was just breathtaking.

I think what they were playing is what's going to be released on bluray. It seems like they fixed some of the errors the DVD release introduced as Luke's saber was actually white during his remote training and the color overall looked a LOT better than what I remember from the last release.

I think there is still hope for a decent blu-ray release. May not be the OOT but at least hopefully a better transfer of the SE.

As for the ROTJ deleted scene, I loved it and immediately thought about how it could be used in ROTJ edits. Unfortunately, you can't tell from the youtube clips but the footage is actually kind of worn. It wasn't restored and looked quite aged. So I don't know if it could be reincorporated properly into the film in its current state.

Having read this, I must admit that it probably is the original footage, but I still don't like it but maybe it appears so bad because of the quality, having been shot by a handheld video camera from a screen.

#2 - He doesn't even get the glove until after the fight at the Sarlacc, when his artificial hand gets shot and the wiring is exposed. He would NOT have had the glove on in this scene.

#3 - Show me a picture of this prop, I've never seen it

- That's true about the glove (but I think Hamill did say it somewhere).

- Watch this video at 5:37: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdH12otbLFw

It may be the prop, but then they didn't put it to full use.

Really? If this is actually the original scene shot in 1980s I'll eat my shoes.

1)It's totally not really Mark Hamill.

2) He's not wearing the glove (M.H. said he remembers wearing it in that scene).

3) The dismountable lightsaber prop made especially for that scene is not use, insted the riddiculous stand in for M.H. screws with a screwdriver (apparently not actually doing anything) to convey the idea of finishing the sabre.

4) All that footage is shot prequel style (I'm pretty sure that it's the ROTS Vader costume in the Vader shots and it uses a weird video-like zoom and the whole thing just looks like a home made video to me - yes I know it is shot with a camera from a screen but I somehow don't think that is the reason it looks like it does).

I think it sucks ass and it definitely should not be put into the movie, even if they restored the actual original scene. Much like the Jabba scene in SW it was originally cut for a good reason and should be kept out.
