RETURN OF THE JEDI 1983 THEATRICAL VERSION RECONSTRUCTION DVD by Harmy (MKV, NTSC DVD5 AND PAL DVD9 AVAILABLE)
Time

I PMed Chewtobacca to see whether it would be possible for him to change that shot without reencoding twice if I uploaded just that one corrected shot, we'll see what he says. If it's not possible, I'll just leave it as it is because as I've already said, I'm not reencoding and reuploading the whole thing again because of one vowel...

Shit!!! Well, just a heads up, it will stay misspelled... :-(

Edit: It's misspeled as "Wookie." I really hope that's not gonna be a deal-breaker for anyone, that would be nitpicking at it's worse. There's no way in hell I'm gonna reencode and reupload the whole film because of one vowel...

Cool.

Just curious: Can the 720x576 25fps anamorphic MPEG2 be easily converted to AVCHD?

It should be easy enough in something like multiAVCHD but like I already said, the mpeg2 version I uploaded is faulty, so I won't be sending anymore links to that and I also decided not to make a new one, because I'd be happy if Chewtobacca encoded both DVD5 and DVD9, so for those of you who want higher quality, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for that.

Concerning the foreign audios on a DVD9, I'd say why not and I'll be happy to provide the CZ dub for that too.

Now, I had an idea about the hairy_hen's 5.1 audio, if hairy_hen was alright with it maybe we could just replace the part where it differs from the original with the SE 5.1 audio. Or even better if hairy_hen did that, I'll PM him about it.

RETURN OF THE JEDI 1983 THEATRICAL VERSION RECONSTRUCTION DVD by Harmy (MKV, NTSC DVD5 AND PAL DVD9 AVAILABLE)

I asked Chewtobacca to render the DVDs for me as I have no previous experience with DVD authoring and frankly am not much interested in learning and he agreed, for which I'd like to thank him publicly. So a DVD player playable DVD5s (both PAL and NTSC) will be available in a week or so from Chewtobacca (he said he was having some trouble with his internet conection so it may take a while).

But for those who won't be playing this from a DVD, there is a 6,4GB mpeg2 file available for download. It has Belbucus' 2.0 1993 laserdisc PCM audio recompressed to a 384 Kbps AC3 and it is 720x576 25fps anamorphic. It is the best quality this is ever gonna be available in (although I believe the DVDs will be only a tiny little bit lower quality). I wasn't originally gonna do this but then I figured, what the hell, if someone wants it why not let them have it. So PM me if you're interested.

Now that this is out I'm not sending any more links to the mp4 version and I'd like to ask people who already have it not to do so either. And this is why:

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Adywan, concerning your FB request for foreign dubs of TESB (I hope you don't mind me taking it here) you are going to conform the dubs to your new mix, right? I'm asking because there are two different Czech dubs (one for the original and one for the SE) and the SE one is much better for ESB (and as I already said somewhere it keeps the original translation, so Luke says "you're lucky you don't taste very good" and Vader says "bring my shuttle").

When I made my PDE cut I made the picture fit the 2.0 GOUT audio but I didn't want to use the inferior original dub (where 3PO talks in an anoying synth-like robotic voice and Jedi is pronounced /yaedee/) so I cut the SE dub to fit the Original Cut. Now, I'm not much of a sound editor, so there are some problems with the cuts being audible but it never happens when someone speeks, so if you were just using the spoken lines and putting them into your mix it shouldn't be a problem. So if you're interested, I'd be happy to upload this for you. But if you thought it better I could just upload the original dubbing.

The blu-ray set of star wars will be the best version of star wars to date desbite what some say. Do I wish the originals where in the set yes but I am not complaing about it.

The best home video version of the actual STAR WARS films to date is sadly the GOUT and even more sadly it seems it will remain so after the Blu-Ray release.ray_afraid said:

I really don't care about this blu set anyway other than the deleted scenes. Once dark_jedi has his GOUT V.3 done, I'll have the Star Wars I want.

I envy you, man, I just can't be satisfied with that. The thing is that I watch almost every other film down to 70s B-horror films in HD, so I just can't settle for a non anamorphic transfer from the early 90s for my favourite movies of all time. I want the real STAR WARS on Blu-Ray!!! :-(

Well the thing is that you're making these statements about what will (not may) be fixed, although it is against all evidence, so either you're a LFL employee and thus you know these things that haven't been made public yet or you're out of your mind.

I don't work for LFL quit saying that I do. repete.

I didn't say you work for LFL, I just said that if you don't the only other explanation of your posts is you being out of your mind. And as you already denied working for LFL...

The blu-ray set will not be bad ok people don't jump the gun on it. The sound mix to episode 4 will be fixed and the lightsabers in episodes 4-6 will be fixed as well. So don't say the blu-ray release will be bad LFL will get it right this time.

Okay, so how long have you been an employee of LFL? You must have been working on this Blu-ray set yourself then, eh?

For the last time I don't work for LFL I am just a star wars fan like everyone else quit saying I work for them.

Well the thing is that you're making these statements about what will (not may) be fixed, although it is against all evidence, so either you're a LFL employee and thus you know these things that haven't been made public yet or you're out of your mind.

edit: wow, things happen so fast around here :-D
