Oh, is that what he was banned for?
Oh, is that what he was banned for?
Funny you should say that, because ocpmovie contacted me through YouTube yesterday and asked for links :-)
Well, in a way, I just took a still picture of one frame from the SE, cut all the ship that were there in the original (there were more ships added in the SE) out of the background in photshop. Then I erased all the ships from the background, to make a clean background plate of Endor and then animated their movement according to the original and then rotoscoped in the Falcon from the SE.
I just finished all these shots where I didn't need to use GOUT footage and now I'm just waiting for DJ to send me some more clips from his upscale.
Hey, guys, I have the GOUT German audio (courtesy of Luffy03) I could reupload it as well, if you wanted.
Also, I have an uncle in München, who is one of those casual SW fans who prefer the original versions but settled for the SE DVDs because of the picture quality. I'm planning to make PAL DVD5s of my Despecialized Edition with German dub and German crawl and subtitles for his birthday. I could upload it when it's done (I won't start working on it until after ROTJ is finished though) if anyone would be interested. Also, could someone please provide the German titles and crawl for me? I guess from the 04SE or are they in German on the German GOUT as well?
If not, I'm going to use the 97SE G'Kar versions for those.

I also find this odd because the LFL logo and especially the 'A long time ago' text look a lot sharper in DE than on EditDroid (which was already very good). Why does the text act differently at the beginning than at the end...?
That's quite simple. The opening logos are DJ's upscale and the end credits are Mattman Omega's (and while it's quite sharp, there's something weird going on, which manifests by those artefacts when the credits dissolve).
Ouch!
@Lex: Yes, correct. See the link in my signature.
PM sent :-)
You can mostly tell by the objects being in a slightly different position relative to each other.
Thanks guys. I just compared this with my ROTJ DVD Recostruction and I can tell you, when I'm done with this Despecialized version, you can throw your ROTJ Reconstruction DVDs to the trash ;-)

Well, not a single one. Some of them just have some GOUT elements.

Here a complete version of the despecialized Sarlacc scene. The colours aren't final.
I don't really see the need for that, as is it is almost the same as the SE one, except for the starfield. It's way too much work for it to be worth it.
I don't know, it just seems to me that Mac users seem to have much worse trouble with these kinds of things.
@BoxMonster: Yes but SD* version was never my goal, so the NTSC DVD5 is just a compromise for those who didn't yet upgrade to HD.
*(shit definition)
Get a Windows?
Yeah, I'm already getting it from one of the other servers. It must have been temp. unavailable when I imported the links. It took me quite long to figure out why in hell I couldn't unpack it :-D
I'm actually missing part 7, not 5.
Yeah. I only synced the beginning of it and being taken from a VHS, it somehow goes out of sync during the Death Star sequence and then returns to sync around before the battle of Yavin.
Chewtobacca has already finished his NTSC DVD5 conversion. He used avisynth, so in terms of video, the results should be better than a user friendly app like that and the audio will be h_h's 5.1. I'm just downloading it and we are in testing stages but it should be available within a week. The download size is only 3.7GB, so I'll probably be adding one or two more audio mixes, if I figure out how to do it. But if anything, I'd be adding the monomix and the stereo mix, so that it has the complete 1977 audio mix range.
Thanks :-)
No, I'm a completely self taught amateur. You can actually kind of see the progress I've made over the scope of my projects. For example my ROTJ DVD reconstruction was mostly just GOUT spliced into the DVD with just a few after effects tweaked shots but I kind of figured it out over the course of making these projects.
Oh, and the password is harmy!
